- In entertaining super featherweight action, former world champion Mark Magsayo (26-2, 17 KOs) scored one knockdown on his way to a 10-round unanimous decision over Eduardo Ramirez. Two judges scored the bout 97-92 with a third score of 99-90.
Magsayo’s power proved to be the difference against a game Ramirez. Two straight rights in the third dropped Ramirez (28-4-3, 13 KOs), who rose and immediately fought fire with fire. Magsayo remained in command, pulling away to win in convincing fashion.

Magsayo can and knows how to punch, no doubt about it, but if he wants to go a step higher he needs to improve his defense. He is probably the Philippines' closest shot to another boxing world title. Congrats, Kabayan!

Mark looked good in this fight against a good opponent. He didn't run out of gas, 130 is full of great boxers.

I hope the Philippines takes a look at Japan’s technical approach to boxing. Every Pinoy can’t be Pacquiao and i think we have alot of Tito Buboy trainers (no disrespect to Buboy) but there’s a lack of sweet science teachers in Philippines right now. Gonna be hard to produce another word champion until the culture changes in my opinion

Real. The Philippines has got a lot of athletic boxers, it's a shame that all athletism is not utilized to their fullest. I know it's a trademark of Filipino fighters to crack and bang, to always go forward and brawl it out, but a little bit of sweet science will make them more successful.
Filipino boxing fans think that you can find an athletic freak like Pacquiao. Filipino fighters badly need a technical trainers, Donaire is really good at being technical as a fighter, maybe he could spread some his skills to his folks.

Magsayo is good, and a former world champion, so you gotta respect that. But, he would be a much better fighter if he improved his stamina more, he has underrated defense actually, probably the best defense from his camp. He just needs to jog more, and play more basketball so he doesn't tire out in the later rounds. Man, he would be a much better fighter if he improved his stamina.

I think this weight class is better for Magsayo, in the higher divisions his stamina runs out. The guy has power, average defense and good speed. Most of the time his stamina fails him in the latter rounds.

I believe we have already seen Magsayo's peak in his previous fights. There has been no noticeable improvement in his skills, nor a significant impact in the super featherweight division with this fight. If he gets a chance to fight for the belt, he will need to perform better.

No future for this Filipino guy Ramirez didn't even hit Pitbull Cruz and he gave Magsayo a run for his Money two more rounds and it would've been a close bout. Magsayo throws power punch like an amateur lunging hands down. Any elite boxer would counter him easily. Gas tank is not good too.
