the "pianos are never animated correctly" guys can never come for this video
I mean, the only way to animate it correctly is if you yourself can use a synthesizer/piano/organ for reference when making notes.
@@SuperFlashDriver Nah, not always; a little while ago, I was working for a studio that had a guy come in to play the piano, filmed it from multiple angles, then sent the videos off to their animation division for reference.
@@FerinSonny Ahh okay. I mention it just to make it a bit more realistic on what they're actually playing rather than whatever kind of notes they're hitting on the piano keys.
But I do agree it doesn't have to be realistic, but it was something to bring up from this person's comment.
@@SuperFlashDriver Nah, I just meant that there's different ways you could go about the process, some methods being more tedious than others.
There was another guy I met who did 2D animation by using 3D models underneath as reference for intricate details, and dynamic poses; especially for the fingers.
No doubt, any prior knowledge of keyed instruments would serve its role in improving animations like that.

@@FerinSonny That's fine, I'm always open for correction or people giving more info in terms of their experience with animation. I just thought it was some occurrence other users online brought up, even done in videos, of animation that shows what the pianist is actually supposed to play to make that musical sound, versus what the characters are actually playing which has some wrong or incorrect notes playing, as if they just played whatever key is playing on the piano.
Personally, I don't have a problem with it if the animators didn't feel like inserting it in, but once someone pointed it out to me, I'm not able to unsee it once I'm introduced to seeing them play the piano versus how it should be played in real life.
This cartoon really should get a full series.

The attention to detail I’m loving! From the 54% battery on her iPad to Richy’s cracked iPad on his educat-inator! And spiral-doge eating a plate of delicious chocolate sprinkled donuts!! These are some amazing cartoons and it makes me feel like a kid again and was Val not supposed to yell no in anger like that at 3:43 she looked shocked like she said a bad word xd

Theres so much going on in the video that involves so much artistic and technical skill, from the animation composition, animation keying that imitates 2D animation, 3d yet cartoony characters, the involvement of very organic looking linework incorporated in selective areas of the characters like around the mouth and nose and DONT LOOK like cheapy 3d tricks to add lineart to a 3d model, the choice to make some reflections affect by the scene and some that are just added manually for a unique look (like the eye shines) and really everything else.
It takes a massive amount of knowledge in many areas to get something like this executed, very underrated video and channel
