Yay! What a fun video! When you don't have any friends to talk fish with a video like this is worth it's weight in gold! Better yet the friends I do have don't know I'm coming for their desk lamps! Hahaha!
Another great interview Kaity! Also, cool to hear you mention Aquascapes while you viewed Matt’s biofiltered pond! I live minutes from their headquarters and go there to get big ideas for my little tanks. And of course Fish Shop Matt is an absolute legend. Cool to see you connect the global fish community these last couple of years.
Oh wow, that is so cool! You are so lucky getting to live near their headquarters, I absolutely LOVE it there! And that's awesome to hear, I'm glad you enjoyed the video :) Thank you for the support :D
Never clicked on a video as quick been waiting for this one since you first announced you were visiting the UK. Love Matts content and the gimble issues at the start were perfectly in tune with a regular Matt video :D Really makes me want to try Axololtls
Nice one Kaity! It's funny to see the differences between your tour and my tour. Since it was around the same time haha. But still 2 different approaches lol (oh and btw, Matt told me to watch out with the Axolotls and the staircase as you hit your head on it lol)
Nice aquariums, love the festivums, and emperor tetra, cork is an old school aquascape tool, they make great terraceing structure and epiphytes cleave wonderfully to it. The waterfall is 🎉 thanks for sharing
I love how you,Harlan and Nick have spaced out the videos. Just awesome seeing how many places you have been and I definitely hope you are feeling that you'll be traveling to see even more awesome people in 2025 ? 🇦🇨 ✈️ Just remember to bring your merchandise and maybe Coral fish George and you can work out something that way you can be a part of AQUASHELLA
Oh that is such great feedback to have!! I'm so glad to hear you enjoy seeing them spaced out :) I most definitely will be doing some more travelling in 2025! That is the plan :D And Aquashella will actually most likely be in the cards next year!
My two favourite aquarium keepers ! It was discovering your channel a year or so ago that tempted me back into fish keeping, and the set-up I bought was matts axolotl tank because of his review of it ! A THOROUGHLY ENJOYABLE VIDEO (as always) 👍🏻 Love the collaborations, and your beach and creeks videos. I hope we see more of both of them. 🤞🏻 (As a one-off "beach special" it would be amazing to see you checking out robber crabs on Christmas island) !
That's so amazing to hear!! How awesome! And thank you for the feedback on the videos you enjoy too, that's great to hear :D I love filming both those types of videos so there can definitely be plenty more to come!!
Really cool video, will definitely have to give this channel a watch! Those are some well thought out and planted aquariums! Especially liked the idea of the plastic stand you then plant the plants into and fill with fertiliser/substrate! You should try one of those in your cichlid tank with the Anubias and see if that works in there! Was just the right video to watch to switch my brain off last night after a busy day learning to fly gliders 😀
I love those Habstax too!! I'd actually be really keen to try some. And that's awesome, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video :D I hope your fly glider learning went well lol
@@Kaityscichlids They're a great idea! Might have to have a go making a few designs of my own and 3D printing them! Would be good for plants like Anubias for sure! Gliding is going really well too, done over 1 hour flying in something on a flight, with no engine it's mad how long you can stay in the air for staying up just by thermals! been learning how to fly the aerotow lately, getting better at coordinated turns, speed control and trimming, and even been doing the landings too! Very different pace to fish keeping for sure, but surprisingly good for finding new lakes and rivers to fish 😀
If anyone has a fish thumbnail I generally look at their channel for videos, so i had a look and I am seriously impressed at the immaculate condition of your fish 👍🏻 (The green terror is a stunning looking fish)
I don't think I can put external links in comments but if you Google "Habistax Kickstarter" it should come up! Matt also did a video on them a while back
You can generally mix African Cichlids with other African Cichlids from the same lake (so Malawi with Malawi). But you just have to be mindful of the different types (like haps, mbuna, peacocks etc.), I have a playlist on my African Cichlids on my channel which you might find useful for learning about the different ones. But I wouldn't recommend mixing African Cichlids from rivers with the Rift Lake African Cichlids :)
Love the video. But I do gotta ask a question in the beginning or it shows the dog in the backyard is he taking a shit or is he sitting down? He was looking up like come on man. I’m pooping here. 😂
Hi kaity Great video! I loved the special effects, they gave it a little "Blair witch" feel!🫨😅 after seeing all of these amazing scapes in tanks, bowls and ponds... I just can't believe you have beaten matt in a scaping competition!?(Something smells fishy!😁) I have a small and shallow pond, made to attract amphibians like toads, frogs and newts. every year, there are a lot of baby newts in that little pond.it's fun to see them transform from tadpole to a little mini newt.they have external gills like an axolotl, wich are the last thing they loose before their transformation is complete.😊
Hahahaha, shhhh, we don't need to talk about the possible "visiting from Australia" handicap I may have been given in that competition LOL. That's very cool, baby newts are the cutest little things :) I love seeing wildlife like that in ponds!
Its was great fun having you round! I'm loving the picture you chose for me in the thumbnail 😂😂😂
