A definitive performance. I would hope that Tarquinio Merula would be as delighted by it as I am. I haven't heard another soprano come near Jennifer Kampani's clarity and articulation, and the basso continuo is sublime.

I have played it a few times but suddenly Jennifer Campani's voice hit me in a different way than before.The clarity and projection is just....well I don't really have words for it. As always, Voices of Music perform with precise quality and are my favourite ensemble amongst many other great groups of brilliant artistes. Thank you so much.

I have thought of little else since i first heard this song in this performance three days ago. I found the score online, I have listened to about 20 versions, and just now came back to this one. It has so much feeling and gallantry! I don't quite know how i am going to recover...
I find the music most enjoyable for its harmony and instrumentation. The words, as I read the translation, were to me a detraction. On my next listening, I shall not bother to read the English translation, because I find them silly. I shall just listen to the wonderful music and fine voice.

I think the phrasing is clear in the meter of the verse, the harmony and the original notation.
