Don't just look at PAR ratings and lumens when it comes to researching a light. Build quality, water resistance, features, and longevity are all important factors. I have had many cheap Ebay lights randomly stop working after a couple of months, while my AquaSky has been running strong for 3 years now.

The blue led lights are pretty much 20 000 kelvin. So you can not compete with that. For example, If I would keep Blue Fish without plants. I would go with T5 lights that have 15000 kelvin, very cold blue light. Perfect for Kamaka, Turquise Rainbows or blue guppys. :-)

I have a quick question though, do you think Cory would Take Blue Medaka Rice Fish? I live in Washington and am actually breeding them and was wondering since Cory loves rice fish.

Not a big fan of the spectrum of the Fluval. Looks washed up and too yellow.

RMS. Great store initially in Willoughby and later Snow Road when I lived in Lyndhurst. Wish there were places like that here in Cincy.
Two of the aquaneat lights might work very well..showy colors and intensity for the plants. I'm surprised the Fluval did nothing for the fish. The Fluval looked a lot like my Yescom light...bright,but it too is not the greatest at showing off fish colors. Why I use it in combo with fluorescent lights made for aquariums..almost all brands look better than LED, just not as bright and need more watts to run.
Careful buying fish tank gravel and heaters/filters at RMS. They tried to charge twice the price of Amazon or another nearby store agnoquatics for their seachem flourite. Said they priced matched on same items till they saw the price difference even with the items not on sale. Then tried to make bs excuses about shipping costs from Amazon needing to be factored in for their instore price match. Also tried saying they have higher overhead then Amazon as a small store and need to charge more, yet they advertise themselves as the “largest fish store in Cleveland”.
I just left instead of paying $36 dollars for a $22 dollar 15lb bag of flourite dark. Go to Agnoquatics they have way healthier fish and the owners are super nice.
Love the idea of using the lava rock for hardscape, esp if on a budget. Great tip! I know what my next project is going to be. Thanks!

I have that same setup with the pea puffers and cardinals! If you have a male puffer they will in time attack and eat the bellies of the cardinals ! Just to be warned but looks great

Fish there tend to be so expensive. In the Philippines, neons for example can be purchased for 15 pesos each. That's less than a dollar.
Makes me wonder if others vids about Fluval "tweek' their camera settings to more vivid while live, and if you were there,would see a more modest color?..hmm
