The Power Access Assist is a hidden gem with SOG. Works perfectly for me as the multitool I keep in my car.

Love this list. I really do agree. I know SOG get a lot of crap thrown their way, but every tool I’ve had from them has stood up and performed well over its weight

SOG is the brand I hype the most ngl. The centre drive bitdriver and compound leverage is super interesting to me. + the large cutting surface which is exactly what I need

You Should Look Into Getting The Poweraccess Deluxe And The Powergrab To Finish The Modern Set....Maybe The Powerlock Too

PowerAccess (this thing is always with me) and PowerAccess Assist - tried and tested - love them both,
the PowerPint is a must have. SOG are getting shat on all over the web, but so far I am happy with the products I got from them. Here the price of the PowerAccess Assist is 100$ same as the Leatherman Curl.

Glad to see you’ve discovered the PowerPint! The pliers are amazing, but I find you need to open the handles wider than a Leatherman to grab larger stuff like bolts. Do the larger models have the same issue?

What would you is the best MT for the money?
Do you like the Leatherman free series?
I quite like the look of the “K” line.
Also what is the heaviest duty multitool?
    The Surge?
And last question who do you think makes the best clones?

    • @hvacbudget8600
      @hvacbudget8600 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Best multi tool for the money I guess depends on what you're looking for. The Leatherman Bond is a great mid price multi tool.
I really like the Free P2 and the T2 is nice it just doesn't have enough functions for me to carry it much. The T4 is better.
I think the Surge is still the best heavy duty multi tool with the SOG Poweraccess assist the best budget heavy duty multi tool.
As far as clones, the Ozark train Multiforce, and the Bibury and Maerd rebranded versions offer outstanding value, as long as you realize it's a half price Wave so it's not perfect.

      @@hvacbudget8600 Thanks man!
I’m looking at the surge and super tool 300 EOD and maybe it’s just the photos but is the super bigger or heavier duty?
      What about lightest multitool?
I only just discovered Leatherman make a Titanium multitool but then I saw the price!

    • @hvacbudget8600
      @hvacbudget8600 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@kylethedalek Probably if one did drop test etc. I would think the Supertool 300 might be the actual toughest tool when it comes to reliability. With it's tools protected inside the handles it's hard to think of a tougher multi tool. But when it comes to options and usability the Surge is amazing. I think the Surge offers the best options and reliability balance.
As far as the lightest multi tool, the Leatherman skeletool, Gerber crucial, SOG PowerPint are all light in the pocket while retaining some screwdrivers and usable pliers.

    Hi,
I like your videos and reviews.
QUESTION: What do you think about changeable "blades" for the pliers? I believe Gerber or/and Leatherman do have this. Is it useful? How often will a normal user have to change broken anf damaged blades? Did it ever happen to you or one you know?
I own only a SOG Powerlock and yesterday arrived a SOG PowerAccess Assisst MT. Also I have the large Victorinox Swiss Tool X Plus, the version with a ratchet.
But for edc I always take the Powerlock.
    Best regards from germany. 🫡

Thanks for watching! So I guess the question could be answered two ways.
      1. Replaceable knife blades like SOG offers for your Power lock or like Gerber used to offer that can still be found on ebay or like the Goat multi tool, Roxon Phantom and some others are easier ways to replace a main blade. They make it easier on you since you don't have to wait forever without your tool sending it in for repairs, you can just wait for a replacement part. Also instead of sharpening a blade until it becomes an awl you can replace it. I think most blades break when users misuse their tools. On cheaper multi tools I might use the blade to pry out a staple and then yes the blade may break. With normal daily use, opening packages, cutting tags, rope, scraping away paint etc no probably it's not a huge concern
      2. Their are also replaceable t-shank saw blades for Leatherman, Bibury, Daicamping etc where you can replace saw and file blades. Gerber also has a universal saw blade exchanger. I think the same general rule applies, light use and the blades last awhile and extreme use tools break, dull quickly. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask any more questions about this

Thank you for your response. Thats right. I usually sharpen my knifes by myself. But My blades are only used for easy tasks for example like opening packages or cutting paper. Therefore it is no big thing to sharpen them.
      😉
But I have to apologize, I did not explain Well enough. My Sorry.
I was meaning the wire cutter. These little tiny blades (sorry dont know the right word 😅) which you can unscrew and change. If you have used it for cutting piano wire or a nail that has been to hard.
Personally, I think it is a good idea and I wish all brands would build their multitools with this feature. On one side I never damaged the wire cutter while abusing it, because for harder tasks I use the right tools. But on the other side if that ever happens it would make it absolutely easy and comfortable to bring your multitool wire cutter back to work.
But I have to admit I am a little paranoid in this case. 😄 Usually nobody will damage the wire cutter when using it for general purpose.
But yeah here I would like to know your opinion.
