Please do not listen to the haters, your criticism is some of the most courageous out there, and I read you religiously whether I agree with you or not.
It's not hate, it's just the endless third rate pop philosophy. Brody will literally review movies and say the actors are faking a language so bad it's comical, when the actor is actually speaking their native language. That has happened several times, and that's because Brody always does things like this when one of his favored socio-political movies are in contention. There's a reason why no one follows him, or honestly, respects him very much any more. He did this to himself.
I loved his choice of movies and their niche characteristic along with how broad the three movies were cumulatively. By showing movies all centered in New York yet varying so much in characteristic I think Mr. Brody has done a splendid job reviewing movies for the audience of the New Yorker.
