      Same. I figured it's because it's just you being normal, so you tend to overthink it and make it more structured. Plus there's no specific emotion you can focus on, it's just you being casual.

    What if you come to the conclusion that it is the line itself that you would not say, not necessarily how you would say it? For example, I don't think I've ever said, "Where were you at?" in my life. I just don't talk that way. I'd say, "Where were you?" Very similar. Do you think it's okay to insert minor line adjustments in auditions?

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Getting an agent overseas is very hard, almost impossible really. Agents prefer you be in the same country they are representing you. Not always, but it’s preferred. More often than not they will only take a look at you if you have a notable name to yourself (to represent you overseas). I’d focus on agents in your own area for now.

      @TheActorsAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Vitesh Pillai you have to work with the hand you are dealt. Sometimes you are either in a hard position or easy. But just because it is hard now doesn’t mean it will always be this way. In terms of getting an agent you will most likely have to wait when you have the capability to get one (where you can be somewhere with a film industry USA/Canada,/Germany/UK/etc.). I’d double check around you for confirmation though, I don’t know how much research you’ve actually put in to it. One thing you must have, is patience.

    Aloha man, this is Keali`i from Hawaii again, I commented a few months ago about if I should bring my resume to the talent agency, unfortunately the company was a scam, after the interview I was very exited because I did a good job, I got home to dig into their website only to see that it was made December of 2019. They said it was made 5 years ago. It would be awesome if you can make a video about some tips on how to avoid paying money to a fake talent agency. If not no worries, I understand you specialize in acting tips but anyways Mahalo.

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey there, yes this industry has both real and scam agencies, which is why you must be very careful (check my how to get an agent playlist). Anytime an agency tells you you have to pay, I would consider this a big red flag. No credible agency will make you pay to be apart of them, they work on a commission basis. So if you book a part, then they make money, if you don’t book than they don’t make anything. This gives them incentive to try and book you. I’d suggest watching my playlist ‘how to get an agent’. Let me know if you have any questions afterwards.

    Can you listen to instrumental music while learning your lines?

    • @TheActorsAcademy
      @TheActorsAcademy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can, but I only treat music as a ‘tool’ (if I need it) I don’t want it to become something I rely on when portraying the character. For example if you are having trouble finding the character for whatever reason, music can sometimes be used as a way in, but I’d try avoiding acting along with the music as much as I could. Maybe for a few read throughs I may (maybe) but I prefer to use it before beginning my scene and then working to distance myself from the music. Ultimately you want music to be a ‘tool’ that you can use, but not a crutch that you heavily rely on. I hope this helps.
