I am starting to learn macrame as a new hobby.....wanted to start with something small before attempting a wall hanging. I was thinking of giving up because everyone I watched didn't explain it enough, went to fast, and just didn't have that teaching touch. Like I said I almost gave up....I am happy that I found you...thanks for the lesson. Greatly appreciated.
This by far was the easiest tutorial to follow. While other channels numbered each rope or talked and moved too fast, you explained it very simply and slowly and I was able to follow watching the movement of your fingers. I also found your tip helpful regarding holding the main rope tight. Thank you!
It would also be helpful if you put the measurements in the comments. Also, if you specify the complete length and then state fold each in half it’s easier for us newbies.
@@consciouscoffeeplussugar2658 I guess she said :measured at 2 foot long at 0:33 ? for my second attempt I used 27 inch and still can't get it enough to make the last knots. I am going to try for last time with 30 inch , otherwise I will be just wasting my rope while there could be other more clearer tuturials.
This is much easier to follow than your original video of this keychain. However I would love it if you did the entire keychain at a slow pace instead of doing the last half quickly. I’m slow! Lol
The 1st part of mine looked great and it got to making the 2nd part and I lost it, I slowed it down and even went back to the 1st part and the 2nd diamond didn't look good at all. I'm new to macrame but I think showing the second part and making that part slower would be beneficial.
Oh my , this knot is my nemesis! Been working on it for hours for the last two nights and just can’t seem to get it no matter how many times I replay and slow down the video. The right side seems to go ok but then when I try to do the left side it gets messed up and doesn’t look right. Maybe it’s because I’m left handed, lol. I’m not ready to give up yet and will keep trying. Tomorrow is another day!
Yes I agree I’ve tried for many hours but just can’t get it to look anything like what she has done. I’ve undone it so many times the string strands has become very shaggy
I was not confused on the measurements in the beginning. Thank you so much for this easy to follow tutorial! I am going to hobby lobby as we speak!! :)
Thank you Thank you Thank you!! You’ve made learning how to tie these basic knots so much easier than the other videos I’ve tried to learn from! I will very definitely be following you! 🥰
I got lost after you started going fast...any way of telling us what to do after you finished the diamond set instruction? Love to finish this beautiful keychain. Thanks!
Wow thank you! I was really struggling with these knots but you explained very well! Just a little note, it'd be nice if you could put the cord measurements in the description box since some people are finding it confusing!
Thank you so much!!! Your explanations were so helpful and I was able to follow along and made my first keychain! This has been the best video I’ve seen explaining the knots!
Thank you! I’m so happy this video worked out for you! I’ve had a ton of negativity commented on the last one so I do know that I didn’t explain the knots enough and made the keychain as if you guys knew how to tie those knots I am sorry about that that! ❤️
I have been having such problems with the double hitch knot - I think the problem has been that I haven’t been pulling things tight enough. It has been driving me crazy so your tip has made a real difference. Thank you.
Thank you for going slow and explaining which string stays where. It didnt matter how many times I would play it back on other videos, it always looked like the over string was being put back etc.. lol I really think I get it now. Gonna make it a mission to make this project today. One more thing, when you say 2ft do you mean after its folded and its really 4ft if its not folded in half?
I’ve been doing macrame for many, many years.... I only looked at this video to find out the length of cord I needed since I can just look at it and know what knots I need to make. It was very confusing when she explained how to cut each length. She just should have said to cut 3 lengths of cord each 4’ long.
@@cherylhall4605 Exactly! I got to the second diamond and realized that I didn't cut them long enough. Now I've wasted 6 feet of chord on a half finished project!
Love this pattern and can understand because I’ve gone elsewhere to just learn half hitch knots and square knots. Really not good to just keep saying this one and that one. More directional terms would help such as numbering cords and then referring to filler cords vs. working cords would make soooo much more sense. Prepare us for what knot is happening: Now we are going to make 3 double half hitch knots down into the right. Also agree measuring methods are nonsense. I’m going to have to make my own guess on how much rope I want to use.
This to tutorial was sooooo helpful! My keychain looks absolutely beautiful! Thank you soo much! I struggled a lot with that knot with other people’s tutorials because they didn’t explain it properly! You did a perfect job! Well done and thank youXxxxx
Haha yes! It was confusing for sure. It looks like 4 ft total. Folded in half. So 2 ft on one side. And so 3 pieces of 4 ft to begin with. That's my best guess!
yeah I did one strand 2 feet and it wasn't nearly enough, really annoying that it was not clearly stated in the video and how she had to use weird wording. I had to redo this twice.
Despite other’s comments, I thought your tutorial was explanatory and easy to follow. I just need to pick up speed as I keep re-making the same mistake. That’s on me, but I’ll get there. Thank you.. 😊
Really like the look and ease of the soft fringe finish, but worried it will come undone over time. Anyone tested this loose finish as opposed to tying more of a knot at the end and wrapping?
This tutorial was amazing up until 11:30.. then I was completely lost and no matter how many times I paused or played back or made it slow I didn't get it ;-; sos... I'm so slow...
@CHERRY CHERRY the bottom diamond is EXACTLY the same technique as the top diamond. That's why she goes fast...because she did the exact same thing in the first diamond. Once you get the hang of the different knots, you'll see that this is actually a really good video. I would recommend watching a few other videos from others with similar keyring. Also, doing a completely different project, like a hanging planter, may help you get a good grasp on the different knots used in this video.
So when you get to the part where you say now I'm just gonna do this really fast, are we supposed to go back to the beginning and do that over again? I just can't tell what you're doing and I really want to finish it.
Thank you for going slow. It might be easier to follow if strands were numbered. Ex. "folding strand #4 over strand #3" vs "take this one and then that one".
For some strange reasons I ran out of rope and didn't finish the last part of the inverted V shape design. Probably I missed calculated my rope length. Anyway nice tutorial. Really beginner friendly. PS. baby's hand is cute.
So, in order to make the second diamond, do I go all the way to the beginning of the video for a slowed down version? Or do you start making the first diamond part way into the video?
Taking me a while to understand this but to make it more simple could you name the robes a and b or left and right because I kept getting lost at this one and this one.. but great tutorial!
Started making it and going well so far, my only criticism is that the measurements need to be SO much clearer. I can see you’ve commented on someone’s comment clarifying but maybe it would be helpful to update the description with that info & make a pinned comment?
Does the back look the same as the front side? I finished one but the back doesn't look the same as the front... Is it I am making the knots too loose?
How thick is the thread you used? I loved how it turned out! You gave me an idea for a friend's day gift! Thank you! Greeting from Argentina. (I am with the translator, I hope you understand what I am asking)

Is this mustard or marigold? Very beautiful Also are you using the 100ft 3mm roll or 200ft 3mm roll? Just curious of which roll you had in the beginning it was large. Thanks
Even though people seem to be confused in the comments, its actually a very good video...you are repeating everything you did the first time, on the 2nd diamond. Once ppl get the hang of the simple knots, they'll see how good this video actually is. There is NOT a different technique for the 2nd diamond. Its exactly the same as the first diamond.
Your method of measuring is extremely confusing. I've watched a bunch of your videos and you always make it so confusing. Just say how many feet each should be and the rest of us can use a measuring tape so we don't cut and waste all of our cords.

Yes as beginner the lenght is definately an important information to start the project

Yes... It is confusing..i took 2 feet.. and it is short for me😑🥲
Why doesn’t she reply?

such a good easy video Thank you! Not confusing at all.
