    I've been watching your videos for at least 6 months. Every """single""" video I watch I learn something new. I also felt compelled to write in response of a simple trick you showed of folding the filter paper to fit basically any size funnel 19:30. Because people like me would be searching from Mars to King Tuts tomb to find those! 😂. You have helped many people my Friend!!! I personally thank you.

      Hmm nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide are usual toxic gasses released during nitric acid reactions and sodium metabisulfite reactions, respectively.
      (And are why it is appropriate to wear a mask and vent fumes out of work area)
      As the gold is going into solution that should be just a reddish brown No2 (nitrogen dioxide) forming not any chlorauric acid boiling off.

    OK so I heat my fryers up at work so they filter more easily. The hotter thinner oil passes through the filter easier. I'm guessing you do the opposite because you want the liquid to meet the most resistance and hopefully catch more out of it? Totally different scenarios I know but maybe the same principles?

    • @sreetips

    • @sreetips

      Without a doubt: FUME HOOD. No way to safely do reactions without one.

    • @djcbanks
      @djcbanks 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do your reactions safely outside but be sure to have the correct cartridge face mask and safety goggles. But he is correct, you want to make sure your safe above all else and having a reliable way to remove the fumes from your reaction is a must. Do not do it inside unless you have something to collect and remove the fumes or you could kill yourself.

    • @sreetips
      @sreetips  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You must have the fumes pulled away with a negative pressure. I used to do reactions in my back yard. Approach from upwind, the draft circles around from behind and pulls fumes from the reaction right in your face. Even after turning and walking ten paces away it’s still in your hair, clothes and eyes. It’s the repeated, chronic exposure, the damage, healing, damage, healing, that ruins lung tissue. There’s only one way to avoid it - buy a fume hood.

    • @djcbanks
      @djcbanks 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sreetips i guess I should edit my comment to have quotes around the “can”. Not ideal but doable if you follow safety precautions to protect yourself. It is much nicer having a fume hood though. You don’t have to protect yourself as much. It’s nice. I need a new fan for my fume hood so I currently do reactions outside and what sucks the most is when it starts raining when your doing your reactions. Ah refiner problems. Lol. Fume hood is key.

    Only other thing you need on your thumbnail is a big red arrow pointing to the gold bar and maybe change title to say something catchy that makes people wonder what the end result is, like “You won’t believe how much gold was recovered from this….” Or “You won’t believe what I refined to get this much gold!”, And then you’ll have yourself some good clickbait and maybe even a viral video. I would love to see that happen for you. You so deserve many many views. I know it may not be your thing to do something like that but I figured I would suggest it as it is found to work and truthful clickbait is ok, the lying clickbait is not. Anyway, was just a thought I had that I wanted to share. It came to mind because your current thumbnail almost had all those elements.

      @@sreetips I totally understand that and I feel the same way I just appreciate what you do for the community by posting your experiences and being honest about the process and outcomes, you deserve to be rewarded for the work you do. I know my random thought may not sit well with some people, but it’s something I think if it is done right, could help spread your videos a lot further and give you the visibility you deserve. You don’t realize how much you are the man! Your videos helped me change my processes around for the better. For example, I used to run my silver cells where the silver deposits on a sheet of stainless steel hanging on a glass bowl (almost like I do with my copper, but I use copper for my copper crystals growth) and ever since I saw your videos with the vacuum sack filter to catch the slimes I made a cell like yours and have been loving it. It’s so much nicer!! I thank you sir and just want you to reach the level that when people think about youtube, they think about Sreetips just as much as any other major youtuber. I haven't come across gold Filled items in Australia. I'm sure it's around. However we tend to have 9k wich unfortunately people don't seem to realise how much actual gold quantity is in the piece. Particularly a bracelet which is machine made and costing well over $1000/$2000 Australia Dollars. And the Actual gold yield would be worth at a absolute minimum $350 Australian Dollars. And alot of people sadly have very high expectations when trying to sell their no longer 9k jewellery as most don't Evan want to pay spot price for the true weight of the actual gold content. Sometimes say Somone paid $2000 for the gold item. It's worth if lucky $100 Australian. I think it needs to be an eye opener for people. I'd prefer to have my own gold or silver of High karat. And find a old school gold Jeweller to manufacture what if like. Just get alot more value for your money that way. Cheers for the information on this show.👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺❤️

      In my experience, there are three prices for a piece of gold jewelry. First there’s the retail price. That’s the price you’d pay in a fancy jewelry store. A bracelet with small diamonds, a thousand bucks in the retail jewelry store. Next there’s the resale price. The price one could expect to get if you tried to sell the bracelet as a used piece. That would be maybe $300 to $400 if you waited a while a found the right buyer. Then there’s the scrap price. I pay 80% of spot. So the thousand dollar bracelet would sell (to me, the scrap gold buyer) for about a hundred fifty. This has been my experience. In this example, it appears that the scrap buyer is a thief. But the real rip-off is paying retail markup at the fancy jewelry store.

      @@sreetips 100% there is definitely a huge loss for the consumer. But as we both are aware. There is the industrial value which is what I'm interested in with prescious metals. Lol I laughed at the scrap buyer is a thief ?? But it's true. The price for precious metals is kinda all over the place. Then you have certain gold and silver bars particularly antique are twice to who knows the price. I guess every industry has its own little game. ??? But drugs and oil ?? Only one game. But it's all controlled and corrupted by someone at the top. P.S drugs are very bad just kinda an example. Cheers buddy. Take care mate.
