So wonderful to see you are well on the road to recovery Melissa!!! What an amazing woman you are!!! Honestly totally in awe and absolutely thrilled you are sooooo getting through this!! Much love! ❤🎈❤🤗
Melissa....please don't think about the subject as being boring. You are, in fact, providing valuable information to women who should know about breast cancer. It is scary that 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer. I am one of them. No family history but I got it. That was 18 years ago. You look fantastic and I wish you good luck in your continuing recovery.
Malissa what a jewel you are❤ appreciate your update and sharing your journey with us. My mom went through this and your sharing your experience is helping so many.
Melissa, I’m an RN for the past 35 years and worked on an oncology floor and took care of many mastectomy patients. You are providing extremely valuable information to all of us women and it’s far from boring and so important. You are also far from “looking like something the cat drug in.” You are absolutely gorgeous!❤ Thank you for sharing your recovery journey. God bless you and I’ll be praying for you. Thank you for all your health and beauty videos. You are beautiful inside and out! 😊❤
I want to thank you for your service and work you did all those years. You are the eyes that women look into when they are afraid. You are the hands that settle our nerves. We are grateful. Much love, Melissa
It’s great to see you up and smiling. You definitely don’t look like you just had surgery-you look gorgeous! The fact that you’re already thinking about how to help other survivors and pay forward the kindness you were given says a lot about how kind you are yourself. Thank you for sharing your story because it will help a lot of other women. Prayers for continued healing! ❤
Pain and illness can have that weird effect of making you feel like you look terrible when in fact you look fine- or in your case, you look fantastic as always. Thank you for talking about your experience so frankly for the benefit of other women, and for letting us know you're okay. Your presence is a blessing here- I hope you recover as well and as swiftly as possible. ❤
Melissa, I can't believe this video was 11 days post-surgery! You look amazing. You're a strong lady, and there are a lot of people praying for you. You're in our thoughts and prayers, beautiful lady.
Oh Melissa, you’re doing great! I had the same surgery 9 years ago at 57 and your journey is bringing it all back. Ugh, those drains were the worst and the aprons are a godsend, right? I assure you, once you can raise your arms and do your hair, you’ll feel like you’re on your way to normal! Please write it all down , day by day, because years from now you won’t believe what you went through and how strong you were. Thankfully we forget the worst ( like childbirth!) so it’s good to look back and be grateful for how far we’ve come. Wishing you continued healing, an easy 2nd surgery and a bright future! ( p.s. the expander fill is weird but not painful. You’ll do great! )
Thinking of you. Kent had prostate cancer last year and they compare it to breast cancer. I am thinking of you and I hope you give yourself grace. Thank you for sharing your info with other women and I hope you get on the other side soon. 🙌🏻🍑🧡Lisa
I am overjoyed to see your beautiful face today Melissa! Thank you for taking the time to check in with us all, even as you continue to rest and heal. I continue to pray for your recovery and healing and am so glad you have support from so many. You are beautiful as always and I am sending well wishes and hugs.
Melissa, you are an instrument of God and an angel of inspiration to SO many! You have very beautifully and graciously accepted and embraced your treatment plan with such amazing courage, strength, and dignity! I am so glad that this surgery is behind you! I am praying for you, Doug, and your entire family! You are beautiful in every sense of the word. Your viewers love and admire you so much! Now, it is onward and upward, as you recover and feel better each day!
You have made my night! Thank you for letting us know how your recovering! I just love you Melissa! Your never boring us, please don’t ever say that again! We love you! Take your time!
You look wonderful! I went through the same diagnosis having both breasts removed. My muscle relaxers helped me a lot. Keep up the good attitude my friend. Prayers. ❤
I had double mastectomy too and the best advice I got was find a physical therapist who knows how to do myofascial release on your scars. I think I had to wait 6 weeks or so but it really helps with tightness and the healing of the scars. I had natural tissue flap surgery ( hopefully you know what that is). Hope your recovery is quick!!
Thank you for sharing your experience. I didn’t know it was two surgeries, I thought they did it all in one. Your son’s church sounds amazing. Thanks to Doug for taking care of Melissa!
You look great! I am a Survivor of 23 years. Those aprons look great, I used shoe laces to tie my drains up 😊 it is hard to independent with that surgery. Use the help and take care of yourself. I had chemo and radiation treatment so my mother came to help me with my boys. Continue positive thoughts and prayers.
I am glad to hear that your surgery was successful and that you have overcome cancer with the help of your doctor and loved ones. Their love and support during this challenging time must have been a source of great comfort and inspiration. Being surrounded by many caring people willing to go above and beyond to ensure your well-being is truly a blessing. You are truly fortunate to have such a strong support system.
That was so lovely. And it's true. Just feeling that support of my family and the people that brought the meals was amazing. Thank you and bless you! Love, Melissa
You look great Melissa , it’s hard to keep a good woman down… I know you’ve been through a lot, it just blesses my heart at what those volunteers do for anyone going through this. Those drainage bags are amazing. Positive attitude goes a long way, but I know there will be sad days too. I will continue to pray for healing, good reports, and the strength you need and your family needs daily. Blessings, prayers and love from Alabama 🤩🙏💛
My friend's 86 year old mom recently had a single mastectomy and she was amazed how well her mom came through it - they did keep her overnight because her blood pressure dropped so low after the surgery, but she was out within 2 days having a meal at a restaurant with her husband! So glad you are doing so well.
You look incredible!!! If I didn’t know about the surgery, I’d never guess by looking at you. It gives me hope if I am ever faced with something similar. Please take your time recovering, don’t rush. I’m so glad you’re doing well. You are blessed to be surrounded with help. You’re a beautiful soul.
Melissa, you are such an inspiration to every woman who has or needs to have a mastectomy. After only the short time since your surgery you look wonderful and appear to be on he road to recovery. I'm a firm believer in the power of pray. You will be on my prayer list indefinitely. It was great seeing you.
Yes Melissa, thank you for taking the time to come on here and let us know how you are dong. You have been in my prayers and my thoughts so often. I’m so grateful you are recovering daily from this difficult health journey! Please rest often , listen to your body and allow your body to heal completely! We love you and will be here whenever you post but please don’t put pressure on yourself concerning that! Continuing to pray for complete healing!🙏🙏🙏❤️
Melissa! You are so strong and so brave. Thank you for sharing your journey with us - I am sure you are helping people who are going through this now or may in the future. Praying for your continued recovery. Much love - Wendy
I appreciate you saying that Wendy. But believe me, I’ve had my share of whining and complaining. I know my loved ones can get sick of hearing me sometimes. Lol. But thank you and sending you a lot of love.
I am so happy to hear you have a great support system, you came through this with flying colors, and you’re on the road to healing. God bless you sweetie! Love ya!
Thank you so much, Charlie. I really did have such support and it inspired me. It made me realize that I don't really do much for others and now I must. Love you, and thank you!
So great to see you smiling and looking so well Melissa, Ive just been working with breast cancer patients myself and you were constantly on my mind and in my prayers
What a great service you are doing. Thank you for that. I just appreciate this and am looking forward to Christmas for sure! Much love and thanks, Melissa
Hi Melissa, Great to see you recovering and doing well. I'm a breast cancer survivor going on 12 years. Thanks be to God! I also had a bilateral mastectomy along with reconstruction surgery. I actually had 2 reconstruction surgeries. Let's put it this way; I never will be on the cover of Playboy magazine, but, I'm here to tell the tale. I'm so grateful for the doctors an wonderful nurses that helped me thru my journey! We are so lucky to live in a day and age that great progress has been made. God Bless you with continued recovery! You look beautiful, as always! Better days are coming, Melissa! I'm living proof! Love and light, Sarah🙏❤☀
Melissa: so so happy you are on your channel again. I have prayed for you and just yesterday was wondering how you were doing . So happy you are cancer free. Sharing your journey is a gift to us. I know very little about breast cancer let alone the surgery this was a great education. I love you shared your experience. I had Pancreatic Cancer 13 years ago and at the time I had such fear and wished I knew someone who also had this and the horrific surgery I had to go through. Today Cancer free I so much always want to help and listen to anything going through such a horrible illness. God bless and thank you.
Oh Dawn!!! What a horrible cancer you had!!! I can't begin to imagine what you went through because I know it's a difficult cancer to overcome. You truly are a survivor. Bless you and may you have long good health! Love, Melissa
You are handling all this with such grace, your beauty will always shine bright as your inner beauty is glowing. I'm glad you have had alot of help with meals. Keeping you in my prayers
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May/June. Double mastectomy with expanders. Going through chemo now ( halfway through) . Cancer is not boring. It’s our life and the lives of our loved ones. Thank you for being vulnerable with us! I couldn’t sleep in bed for 3-4 months. It’s still not as comfortable as my recliner so you may have a new besty! Losing that independence and learning a whole new respect for patience through a process. Breast cancer treatment is process but we can heal and recover. We may be week but our higher power can carry us.
oh, Missy, you look beautiful today! You are so very brave! Thank you for this in person update. What an inspiration! This needs to be played at every Womens Center (where I used to work!) all around the country. Women need to hear the encouragement you have brought to us! Thank you thank you thank you! Love and a gentle hug, JJ xxxoooo
You look absolutely amazing! I'm so glad to hear your recovering is going to well...and your journey is far from boring. And sure to help many people. Sending love and hugs ❤❤❤
You are an incredible woman, already sending thank you notes and looking for ways to pay it forward, what an inspiration! I can see the sweetness in your heart. Sending you love and prayers.
💖💐 Lord Bless you Sweet Melissa. You look radiant. I'm so happy to see you again. It's so kind of you to share your surgical experience as it will help others.( I've had breast cancer surgery in 2011. So stressful). What an amazing group of people to be surrounded by. They offered their talents and love Best wishes for a speedy recovery 🙏 ❤️
Sending you prayers, healing wishes, and love from another Melissa! You are already an inspiration to me, and you look and sound wonderful. Thank you for sharing such a private topic with grace and bravery. I look forward to watching your videos for years to come! 💐❤
Melissa, you are such a beautiful person inside and out and are so blessed., as well as a blessing to anyone who watches your channel. Wind at your back, we love you!
Dear Melissa I’m go glad you’re past this surgery and are healing. Thank you for talking about it because it helps the rest of us that have had to deal with it. You are not alone. I had a friend who once every 2 weeks would come with a weeks supply of meals for me. If it weren’t for her I would have barely eaten. My husband helped hold down the fort but other than that I had no other help and I’m so grateful for my husband and my friend. Please let everyone again know that a casserole or two for someone going through recovery is so important and lovely a thing to do for someone living in fear and recovery. Thank you and sending hugs. 🩷🩷🩷
That brought tears to my eyes that your friend did that. What a beautiful friend and what a beautiful service. I'm just so impressed and inspired by her. And my son's church just took me under their wing. I couldn't believe their kindness. The food really helps doesn't it? Much love and thanks,, and give that friend a hug. Love Melissa
Hi Melissa! You are beautiful inside and out! Thank you for sharing your journey, this is important too. I had a double mastectomy with lymph nodes removed as well. That was 14 years ago. I’m 60 yrs old. You just reminded me of how wonderful the meal-trains were. What a blessing it was to have them. Don’t you worry about having to give back. You will do that when the time comes. It is time to heal now. Just sharing your experience is a gift as well. I’m praying for your speedy recovery. May God bless you🙏
It’s hard to watch this update without tearing up . Survivor or not, we all here can relate to you. This can happen to anyone any time. Grateful you’ve got this behind you. Looking forward to more beauty & fashion from you. You’ve got lots of more videos to do. 🥰 keep taking good care of yourself. We will be here when your able. .
No, please don’t cry. It’s good and I’m doing well. I’m so grateful that I’m healthy and that they caught it early. So no tearing up OK? But you are so kind and so tenderhearted and I’m grateful for that. Much love.
Oh my gosh, you look *amazing!* 👏🏻 I'm so glad that everything went well and that your lab work is good! ❤ I 🙏🏻 pray for you every day (I'm Catholic and include you while praying my rosary). Thank you for taking the time to give us an update, I hope your upcoming doctor's appointments go well. 😘
Oh Melissa thank you letting us know how you are recovering, you’ve been on my mind and in my heart. You look fabulous and I’m sure you will continue to improve and heal well...God bless you and Doug
Thank you Melissa for making this video...I had never seen either of those things that were gifted to you at the hospital. You are so strong and I'm relieved you came through it so well. Take care and I look forward to the rest of your journey.
Bless your heart Melissa! Congratulations on your successful surgery & healing. I’m a survivor myself…. Remembering how I was surrounded & loved & emotionally “ kept safe” by my friends & family. Your never alone. Good people are all around. Stay brave! ❤
So glad you're on the mend Melissa! We're grateful for YOU. Thank you for this video; we needed to know you're doing alright, but don't put pressure on yourself to put out videos-it's got to be exhausting. We'll be here whenever you're ready and feeling up to it. Take care friend!
Thank you!!! Actually do0ing videos is a release for me. It's something I do that my husband and my children don't do and it's important to me. Thank you so much. Love, Melissa
What is the world is going on. We are going this through together at the same time. This is crazy. I am taking vitamin d and vegan now and even more strict on diet than that. I'm here for you too 💗🥰💖
Melissa, it's so great to see you looking so well and knowing that the worst is over! Nowhere to go but upward and onward now! I wish you continued progress and sending you healing hugs! ❤
God Bless you, Melissa. I’ve worried so much about you. Gosh, you tell Doug how proud I am of him for helping you like he has and I think he’s a dandy husband! I hope you keep healing up well and I’ll continue to pray for you❤
So good to see you pretty lady! Wonderful to know your recovery is going well! Thank you for your intimate shares. You definitely are helping others❤ Continued blessings! 🙏✨️
I can't believe you're able to put makeup on and your hair up! That's a lot of work using your arms & pectoral muscles so soon in your recovery journey. And to top it off, you look fabulous and appear emotionally strong for what you have been through. You go girl!!!⭐
So lovely to see you smiling, Melissa! You are naturally beautiful so you really don't need to worry about how you look. The wonderful thing is that you look very peaceful. It must be a huge relief to have the surgery behind you. Thank you for stopping by to let us know how you are doing. I wish you all the best as your continue your recovery ❤
What a great surprise and blessing it was to see that you just posted an update on your journey. You are helping so many of us sharing your experience. I don’t know you but I do love you and have prayed for you every single day. What a beautiful warrior you are!
Melissa, you look beautiful. Your ability to share your experience will be so helpful to other women who will be going through this. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. I hope you continue to recover. 🙏🏻
You are such a beautiful lady inside and out. I am so thankful for your continued healing and I am so thankful I found you on TH-cam 6 years ago. May God bless you and keep you.💕💕💕
Dear Ms Melissa, it’s is so wonderful to see you again, smiling, emotional but inspirational to many of us who have gone thru the cancer diagnosis and treatment. Now you know it’s not only possible to survive but to continue to live and enjoy life like you have always had. You got this!! Blessings from central Fl 🙏🏻🤗🙏🏻🩷
I have an adjustable base to my bed and that was a savior. I was able to sleep sort of sitting up. And yes, a recliner is necessary. The drains are a pain. One step at a time!!
I had my breast cancer surgery in October as well. I remember sitting in a waiting room waiting for results when they handed me a candle that said one out of seven. It seems like a surreal moment to have to experience all of this during breast cancer awareness month, That was many years ago. Still here.
God bless you on your journey. At 73, I am a two year breast cancer survivor. Please find any little thing to smile about each day as your journey continues....it does help.. ❤
Hi Melissa, so good to see you. I think you look beautiful! It seems that your handling everything well. Good Girl! I can relate. I’m a two time cancer conqueror. Mine was minimal the first time in my left breast and again eight later in the right breast that called for a partial mastectomy and six weeks of radiation. I know how traumatic it can be. I’ve now been ca cancer free since 2004. YAY! Again….so happy to see you
Dear Melissa, many years ago when I decided to start watching TH-cam videos it was during my recovery from breast cancer treatments and surgery. I remember for moments feeling scared, depressed, mad, lonely and ugly as I had lost all my hair and even though it was tough, I never felt defeated, my young daughter at that time was only 12 years old and I knew I had no choice but to power through it as she needed me. You were a major inspiration to me at that time (and still are) I saw your beautiful face and gorgeous smile but behind all that was that kind heart and told myself that's how I want to look and feel at 60 years old. My new beautiful hair is now silver and have beautiful bouncy curls. For years I colored and straightened my hair, I had no idea how naturally beautiful it is. I have embraced it all. I always knew we had so much in common and now we have even more, we are survivors. May The Lord continue to bless us all. Take care beautiful lady.
Melissa you look beautiful! Your so blessed to have a husband like Doug. My BF we've been friends over 30 years and both became widows within months of each other. She found out she has BC about a month ago. She has a good support system and the church has been such a blessing. Filling the freezer with meals. I've been staying with her and helping her shower & with her intimate needs. There is so much you can't do on your own. I know, because I have been through it with my mother & my sister. So with my friend we talked about everything and were prepared. You are in my constant prayers & on my Church prayer chain & if I may; I would kindly ask that my friend be included on your prayer team. Amen😇🤗🙏
Dear Melissa, I’m so pleased to see you looking so well and in great spirits considering the ordeal your body has been through. Your family must be so proud of your strength and bravery. Thank you so much for letting us know what’s really involved- it certainly isn’t for the faint hearted but this serves as an important reminder to us all to get checked. Sending you lots of love and a big shoutout to Doug for taking care of you 💕
I am a retired RN, and I want to say what an inspiration you are to us all! You are in my prayers, and with your attitude I see great things!❤️

You look great. Thanks so much for sharing & I think most of us do want the details. No one talks about what to expect. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Melissa,
Great to see you recovering and doing well.
Has anyone else in your family have breast cancer? So happy for you. Prayers for continued healing.
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Prayers for continuous healing🙏🙏🙏
oh, Missy, you look beautiful today! You are so very brave! Thank you for this in person update. What an inspiration! This needs to be played at every Womens Center (where I used to work!) all around the country. Women need to hear the encouragement you have brought to us! Thank you thank you thank you! Love and a gentle hug, JJ xxxoooo

It's so kind of you to share your surgical experience as it will help others.( I've had breast cancer surgery in 2011. So stressful). What an amazing group of people to be surrounded by. They offered their talents and love
Best wishes for a speedy recovery 🙏 ❤️
Bless you, Melissa. So no followup? No chemo or anything? That’s wonderful
May God bless you🙏
Melissa you look as radiant as always. Sounds like you are in better spirits. May God continue His marvelous healing.

Still here.
Oh it is. It’s just a long wait and the whole experience is so odd. Please take care. My very best wishes to you.
❤❤❤
Sending you Love and Healing beautiful lady. ❤❤❤❤❤

YAY! Again….so happy to see you
Oh you have been through it. Thank you for your encouragement and I'm so glad you have been cancer free so long. Thank you for sharing. Love, Melissa
Your son's church is amazing!! What a blessing. I'm so glad to see you. You look beautiful as always. I'm so happy to see how well you are doing!
Sending you lots of love and a big shoutout to Doug for taking care of you 💕
This is so kind of you, and I’m very grateful. Thank you.❤❤❤
You sure are an inspiration. To God be the glory! May He bless you as you bless others.
