    Platt-Schindler is one of my favourite 70s lifts plus thanks for the excellent video!

    Wow, this is really interesting! What you found here is by far one of the most interesting logics/drives to ever have existed. They have become extremely rare by now. The old monoblock Schindler/Schlieren motors with the attached break are already rare, then you got the monotron intelligent levelling system (I don't know the generation though) which is even more rare than just the motors. But the Monotron with relay logic must be one of the rarest things ever to find! Monotron was also installed with Aconic (transistor logic by Schlieren) and Schindler Miconic, finding one with relays though is just epic! Very sad that it's being replaced, there is almost nothing comparable to the insane acceleration/deceleration these lifts had!

    Schindler in the 1970s made the intelligent leveling popular. Many new Schindler elevators back then had it! This and the extreme acceleration of the average high-rise Schindler elevator turned out to be a very successful product. One of the best sort of elevators Schindler ever built. Sadly most of them are gone or modernized and now take ages to level.

    Such a really advanced relay controlled lift. The chime sounds like Fujitec

    What is a lift chooser or intelligent levelling? These are terms i have NEVER come across.

      +Peter Lomas Intelligent leveling is where the lift slows down all the way from full speed to stopped in one nice controlled deceleration. At no point does it level (stay at a certain speed). This requires a well designed system controlling the motor.
      Lift chooser is the logic where a lift system has to choose which lift should serve a call. To create this with relays is very complex and is stretching what is possible with relays. These systems usually have a mechanical logic creator in addition to the relay logic.

      +Beno The machine in you video is almost certainly a DYNATRON 2 developed by SCHINDLER in the 1960s. What you call intelligent levelling is in fact a closed loop control where the actual lift speed which is the output from a tacho-generator fixed to the motor shaft at the rear of machine. This was either directly coupled or as in earlier models belt driven. The voltage output is part of a comparitor circuit the other half of which is the required voltage for the remaining distance to be travelled, The Dynatron system used brake EDDY CURRENTS injecting DC into the motor windings DC braking had been used in many lift applications the most common being the OTIS "O" door operator. The lift chooser as you call it is known as the DESPATCH section of the controller and comes in many shapes and forms according to the manufacturer. The system that was universally recognised by most lift engineers of that period was the EXPRESS MARK IV. This system used timed zones and high call reversal circuits on multi car installations all by using relays and not a processor board in sight Most relay controlled systems consist of a Power section used for actual speed and motor control. An Auto section where each individual lift had its call and position logic. And finally the Dispatch system which collected and allocated calls to individual lift auto sections.

    Too bad they rip out the logic. The mechanical floor selectors are a work of art! The maintance required to keep these going must be intensive. Today if something goes bad, they'll just plug in a laptop to diagonese it and if the contolboard is faulty they just replace it. That doesn't take much effort unlike maintaining these mechanical parts.

    relay lift choosers are called dispatchers beno.

    • @tonybaines3332

      +Tony Baines 2 lifts together are called a duplex system 3 a triplex.

    • @tonybaines3332
      @tonybaines3332 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tony Baines the reason its fast on test is because iys a single speed motor, its the same speed normal, the intelligent leveling is a old idea for single speed lifts that work on zone vanes, the new panel will come with an invertor VFD system for total motor control.

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tony Baines It is not single speed. It goes 2 m/s. It reaches full speed at 7:16.

      +Beno could you feel it drop a speed down when it approached a floor, when you was inside the car ?

    • @benolifts
      @benolifts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tony Baines How do you mean? This lift does not have leveling speeds as it has intellegent levelling.
