Ren was bitten by a tick and was infected with Lyme disease but was misdiagnosed and the drugs he was given caused psychosis and brain damage/ autoimmune problems. Bedridden for 23 hours a day with tremendous pain. So much more to it but that's just a glimpse.
Unfortunately it wasn't just a case of the meds doing that to him, the lymes disease has caused all manner of neurological issues thanks to not being treated properly for 7 + years...
Just so you don't get frustrated, Money Game 2 live is missing a majority of the song so everyone is going to ask you to do the lyric video ONLY because you'll miss over a minute of the lyrics. But a Ren's lyric videos are not normal lyric videos, they are more like visualizers. Idk if there is just an audio version of the entire Money Game 2. With Ren having to go for medical treatments and having ups and downs while trying to get better, I'm thinking he prob leans on the lyric/visualizer videos when he wants to put out a song with a video but he just isn't up to creating a video. This video for MG 1 is a live, one take video and they had to run thru it 186 times to make sure they got the one they wanted. I heard they ended up using the 3rd take, lol! Ren is a perfectionist. You could do the live video for MG2 just know that the part that isn't on the live video is pretty significant, very important lyrics. This is probably the only video that you will see people recommend the lyric video if a live version is available. ❤❤❤❤❤ I'll be here to watch regardless of which MG2 you decide to do! Love your reactions and I have been so excited to watch you dig into Ren's music! Your knowledge on human behavior and stuff is going to be a very unique perspective on Ren's art!❤
Money Games 1 and 2 are on his earlier cds. I can't remember if they're on the Freckled Angels album or the Demo cd's, they're in my car at the moment😊

The only thing (you could do) to be able to listen to it without lyrics is probably through spotify or something like that. If you absolutely want to figure everything out yourself. Loved it!! I’m going to have to agree with others, while we understand you don’t want to pull up lyrics, I don’t want you to either, Money Game part 2 should be the lyric video because it’s complete. It also has visuals. The live version just isn’t complete and that’s why we push for the lyric video. Plus the beat on it is 🔥 Hope that helps!!

Yes, please don't let the "lyric" title deter you -- this is a video edited together by Ren himself (during lockdown when he couldn't go out and film with his mates) and there's a WHOLE lot more going on than words on a screen! The interplay between lyrics and visuals is a feast of layered meanings in itself. 😁 Also, there's a live version on Brighton Beach, please don't do that one first, its only about a third of the song and misses out on one of his greatest musical buildups. Proper RENegades should be all for it since Ren can be just as chaotic 😂 You should check out a vod from one of his twitch streams. They’re so ADHD 😅 Ren forgetting half of what he was about to say, forgetting that he is in the middle of eating, getting constantly distracted, and completely switching up the stream with suddenly playing TH-cam vids of songs he likes or getting out a guitar to do an impromptu jam session. You never know what’s gonna happen with Ren. Which obviously goes for all his art too. And you’re just starting your journey down the rabbit hole! Go deeper 😏 Which reminds me… I don’t think you’re the first one to think “strap on” when watching Ren 😂 There’s some serious thirst going on for this man and his “toblerone” 😂 Looks and insane talent aside, a clever brain with an empathetic soul is sexy AF 😅
"When songs hit my neurodiversity system" YES! My personal thoughts about Ren exactly, love it love it love it. This one is perfection. Ren said (in an interview with The Charismatic Voice) each scene is designed to pose a question, which is answered in the next scene with another question. It's addictive. You can see the deep artistry at work in this self directed one take video that took hundreds of attempts to get right.
I just watched all you Ren videos, and they are all great. You are going to have so much fun with his music. His latest album Sick Boi is amazing and shows Ren's Rap talent from every angle. But all of his older stuff (and I mean everything), but especially his live one takes, are amongst my favorite (Money Game Pt. 3, Tale of Jenny and Screech, For Joe, Murderer acoustic live etc.). But you really can't go wrong when it comes to Ren. I am absolutely here for more!
If you go through the Money Game series, for part two go for the *Lyrics* video; the live one is more of a slam than a rap, and it doesn't feature all the verses.

New to your channel as I’m one who absolutely loves Ren and I’m always hunting for new, interesting reactions to his videos. You my friend, you’re the guy I’ve been trying to find. Loving your reactions! I like your theory on the meaning of the man in the mask, but I felt like sharing my own. Going off the lyrics in the line “it’s easier to point the blame, it’s easier to blame , but point the mirror at ourselves, we’re all part of this whole money game” My theory is that the guy in the mask is the nameless, faceless person we want to blame because it’s easier than blaming ourselves. Ren goes back and forth wanting to punish and torture this person for their greed, then he changes his mind and turns on himself because he realizes he’s just as guilty. He draws eyes on the mask in an attempt to give the enemy an identity but still chooses to pour the gas on himself rather than the masked man because he’s just as guilty. We want to blame someone else for being the exact same way we are. Just my theory.
You are fast becoming one of my favorite Ren reactor. I love the Money Game Trilogy but I've heard you say you don't do lyric videos which part 2 is. There is a live video but through the lyric version has so much more. It's a lesson preparing you for Money Game 3 which is a must watch. Still, Jenny and Screech trilogy is absolutely amazing (include violets tale all 13 minutes) it's a mind trip! Can't wait to hear more

In addition to enhancing his creativity, in his livestreams he also discusses how the hyperfocus helps him in many ways as he writes, practices, produces, mixes, etc. He's essentially an ADHD supercharged Welsh swiss army knife. It's not an exaggeration that he can do it all!

Ren did an interview where he talked about this song. You actually understood a lot more then most reactors, but then again you are not like any other reactor. This is going to be such an awesome journey. Ren was the Prosecutor and the Hostage was the anonymous Money Game which he blamed and judged. But as the Money Game got eyes it wasn't anonymous anymore and he realized that we're all part of this old Money Game, including himself. So he couldn't fulfill his final role as Executor without executing himself. This was a one take that took over 180 takes to get it the way he wanted it.
@@constitutionalknightofcere6651 they had to cut when the camera circles behind the chair because they had to prep Ren's mic for the circumstances of the final sequence (he gave other reasons too but I think that was the one that *really* required the cut?) (I purposefully tried to write that so it doesn't spoil the video for our host, here, sorry for kinda being non-specific) But I don't mean any of that to mean the video's not an absolute masterpiece of performance art, theatre, and film of course. ❤
@@constitutionalknightofcere6651 it's such an INCREDIBLE feat of performance & film, I hate that adding that "correction" seems to indicate to some people that we're, like, sneering at Ren and Sam (as though having a cut means what they did wasn't anything special), or that the person who said it was a 1-take is being sneered at for being "gullible" or "stanning" too hard. They planned, directed, filmed, and edited that video to *perfection* and just because Ren's lauded for his/Sam's/Luke's 1-takes doesn't mean that the "1-take fakes" aren't incredible! And someone thinking an amazing video's a 1-take, when Ren's known for doing 1-takes, doesn't make them gullible. Glad to be able to pass along details. 👍

Hey Hector. So glad you're jumping into Ren's catalogue. I'm sure you've read it a million times already, but sometimes Ren releases his tracks with lyric videos as the accompanying video. He puts out alot of demos of his incomplete works, so when a lyric video is suggested we all recommend you do it (money game 2 is a lyric video for instance). The videos are masterpieces in their own right and add to the song, the beat and the experience that is Ren. All I can suggest for Lyric videos is that you close your eyes for the first listen, enjoy the bars, the beat and the orgasm, and then open your eyes on the rerun and enjoy the gift all over again. The more you listen to Ren's music and the more you understand about the man and the msg he pushes, the more you realise that (much like yourself Hector), he does things his own way and makes this crazy world just a little bit better along the way.
Hey, that's a great idea, the closing your eyes for the first listen thing - I hope it's something that feels like it could be a worthwhile compromise, to Hector! Someone who's so ecstatic about the first *three* songs they've heard of Ren's isn't someone who should deny themselves the amazingness of MG2, at the very least (but also Humble! I'm not a huge fan of all of the Sick Boi songs that got made into lyric videos, but MG2 and Humble shouldn't be missed by someone who's loving Ren this much).

OMG, I am sooo glad you're returned to Ren. I loved your reactions to NF and was so disappointed when you only reacted to Hi Ren. I get it now, of course. I CANNOT wait for you to watch the Tales of Jenny and Screech trilogy. I am not quite sure what you were referring to in your comments on lyrics - I agree with you on close captions, but I hope you will still react to Ren's lyric videos because "lyric video" is not really a good description - they are way more entertaining. Also, I think you will also really appreciate the busking videos of The Big Push (the most recent of the two bands he has been on. They show yet another side to him. You will get a lot of recommendations on specific versions to watch. Between watching the videos myself and watching the various reactions on YT, there are favorites for sure. Ren tends to release multiple versions of many of his songs, and all are worth watching. However, a few are not the full version of the original song. One of those is Money Game 2. The lyric video / entertainment 😄 is the official one whereas the other one is an excerpt. Oh geez, so many reactions to look forward to from you! And I am really glad you don't avoid the videos any more. 😇 sorry for the essay - concise I am not. lol.

Hector, I have to give you some bad news. Ren has many lyric videos. Some have one picture music versions, some not. Money Game 2 has a live version without lyrics shown. MG3 is epic. I'm so happy you're digging Ren.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, I'm gonna be sad when you hit MG2 and I "lose" you (to Team Money Game 2 - I *adore* MG2, and MG3 too, but neither can touch MG1 for me). I'm gonna sit here and bask in your MG1-discovering delight. This is some of the most incredible art in modern history, to me. ♥ Edit: omg yeah, I mean, I don't wanna lose you to Team Money Game 2, but I don't want to NOT Lose you to it just because you wouldn't watch the lyric video. The video of Ren reciting verses on the beach is beautiful and worthwhile watching BUT the impact of MG2 is in the completion of that lyric video. Please, DO NOT DENY YOURSELF THE FULL MG2 EXPERIENCE! I don't need you on my team *that* way. Edit the second: Ren refuses to say how he intended this video to be taken (he does that a bunch). Your interpretation is 100% one of the ways we've all dissected it. The interpretation I've ended up feeling the most is - Both characters in this video are Ren. Much like Hi Ren where he's showing you different aspects of his mind. The hostage/guitarist is Oblivious Ren, Ren the consumer, Ren the guy who likes his collection of starter jackets (or whatever the UK calls those windbreaker jackets like he's wearing in Genesis), Ren the cog in the machine. The torturer is Ren Who Has Awakened (who is also the narrator). He's enraged with how the world works, and he's enraged at himself for participating, and he's enraged at the Powers That Be that coerce him into participating because there's very little ability to do anything else for the majority of us. He wants to erase all trace of the Ren who participated; he wants to withdraw every drop of his participation from this planet-eating system of oppression. But he comes to see how impossible it is, and in the end he decides the only way he can escape fuelling the planet-eating is to erase himself (eg, there's no ethical consumption under capitalism). Other fans choose a different angle, and that's part of Ren's genius. He doesn't just write doubles, he writes triples. And then he adds extra layers of visual metaphor and symbolism on top.

I hear you what you are saying about the lyrical videos, I do hope you will understand that some songs Ren wants you to only have the lyrical version because he has art work embedded within it. Some times Ren does one version then releases and acoustic. I hope as you do the Ren journey you come to understand he is an artist and no two songs are ever the same.

I have to tell you. Through this whole reaction, I'm sitting here thinking: I just LOVE this guy!! And I'm not talking about Ren. Ren was bitten by a tick and was infected with Lyme disease but was misdiagnosed and the drugs he was given caused psychosis and brain damage/ autoimmune problems. Bedridden for 23 hours a day with tremendous pain. So much more to it but that's just a glimpse.
Unfortunately it wasn't just a case of the meds doing that to him, the lymes disease has caused all manner of neurological issues thanks to not being treated properly for 7 + years...
And his "Seven Sins" track (with lyric video) is an amazing rant describing it.
Just so you don't get frustrated, Money Game 2 live is missing a majority of the song so everyone is going to ask you to do the lyric video ONLY because you'll miss over a minute of the lyrics. But a Ren's lyric videos are not normal lyric videos, they are more like visualizers. Idk if there is just an audio version of the entire Money Game 2. With Ren having to go for medical treatments and having ups and downs while trying to get better, I'm thinking he prob leans on the lyric/visualizer videos when he wants to put out a song with a video but he just isn't up to creating a video. This video for MG 1 is a live, one take video and they had to run thru it 186 times to make sure they got the one they wanted. I heard they ended up using the 3rd take, lol! Ren is a perfectionist.
You could do the live video for MG2 just know that the part that isn't on the live video is pretty significant, very important lyrics. This is probably the only video that you will see people recommend the lyric video if a live version is available. ❤❤❤❤❤

Yes, please don't let the "lyric" title deter you -- this is a video edited together by Ren himself (during lockdown when he couldn't go out and film with his mates) and there's a WHOLE lot more going on than words on a screen! The interplay between lyrics and visuals is a feast of layered meanings in itself. 😁 Also, there's a live version on Brighton Beach, please don't do that one first, its only about a third of the song and misses out on one of his greatest musical buildups. I just watched all you Ren videos, and they are all great. You are going to have so much fun with his music. His latest album Sick Boi is amazing and shows Ren's Rap talent from every angle. But all of his older stuff (and I mean everything), but especially his live one takes, are amongst my favorite (Money Game Pt. 3, Tale of Jenny and Screech, For Joe, Murderer acoustic live etc.). But you really can't go wrong when it comes to Ren. I am absolutely here for more!

I like your theory on the meaning of the man in the mask, but I felt like sharing my own.
Going off the lyrics in the line “it’s easier to point the blame, it’s easier to blame , but point the mirror at ourselves, we’re all part of this whole money game”
My theory is that the guy in the mask is the nameless, faceless person we want to blame because it’s easier than blaming ourselves.
Ren goes back and forth wanting to punish and torture this person for their greed, then he changes his mind and turns on himself because he realizes he’s just as guilty. He draws eyes on the mask in an attempt to give the enemy an identity but still chooses to pour the gas on himself rather than the masked man because he’s just as guilty. We want to blame someone else for being the exact same way we are.

You are fast becoming one of my favorite Ren reactor. I love the Money Game Trilogy but I've heard you say you don't do lyric videos which part 2 is. There is a live video but through the lyric version has so much more. It's a lesson preparing you for Money Game 3 which is a must watch. Still, Jenny and Screech trilogy is absolutely amazing (include violets tale all 13 minutes) it's a mind trip! Can't wait to hear more

Ren did an interview where he talked about this song. You actually understood a lot more then most reactors, but then again you are not like any other reactor. This is going to be such an awesome journey.
Ren was the Prosecutor and the Hostage was the anonymous Money Game which he blamed and judged. But as the Money Game got eyes it wasn't anonymous anymore and he realized that we're all part of this old Money Game, including himself. So he couldn't fulfill his final role as Executor without executing himself.
This was a one take that took over 180 takes to get it the way he wanted it.

They planned, directed, filmed, and edited that video to *perfection* and just because Ren's lauded for his/Sam's/Luke's 1-takes doesn't mean that the "1-take fakes" aren't incredible! And someone thinking an amazing video's a 1-take, when Ren's known for doing 1-takes, doesn't make them gullible.

Hey Hector. So glad you're jumping into Ren's catalogue. I'm sure you've read it a million times already, but sometimes Ren releases his tracks with lyric videos as the accompanying video. He puts out alot of demos of his incomplete works, so when a lyric video is suggested we all recommend you do it (money game 2 is a lyric video for instance). The videos are masterpieces in their own right and add to the song, the beat and the experience that is Ren. All I can suggest for Lyric videos is that you close your eyes for the first listen, enjoy the bars, the beat and the orgasm, and then open your eyes on the rerun and enjoy the gift all over again. The more you listen to Ren's music and the more you understand about the man and the msg he pushes, the more you realise that (much like yourself Hector), he does things his own way and makes this crazy world just a little bit better along the way.
Hey, that's a great idea, the closing your eyes for the first listen thing - I hope it's something that feels like it could be a worthwhile compromise, to Hector!
Someone who's so ecstatic about the first *three* songs they've heard of Ren's isn't someone who should deny themselves the amazingness of MG2, at the very least (but also Humble! I am not quite sure what you were referring to in your comments on lyrics - I agree with you on close captions, but I hope you will still react to Ren's lyric videos because "lyric video" is not really a good description - they are way more entertaining.
Also, I think you will also really appreciate the busking videos of The Big Push (the most recent of the two bands he has been on. They show yet another side to him.
You will get a lot of recommendations on specific versions to watch. Between watching the videos myself and watching the various reactions on YT, there are favorites for sure.
Ren tends to release multiple versions of many of his songs, and all are worth watching. However, a few are not the full version of the original song. One of those is Money Game 2. The lyric video / entertainment 😄 is the official one whereas the other one is an excerpt.

Edit the second: Ren refuses to say how he intended this video to be taken (he does that a bunch). Your interpretation is 100% one of the ways we've all dissected it. The interpretation I've ended up feeling the most is -
Both characters in this video are Ren.
Much like Hi Ren where he's showing you different aspects of his mind.
The hostage/guitarist is Oblivious Ren, Ren the consumer, Ren the guy who likes his collection of starter jackets (or whatever the UK calls those windbreaker jackets like he's wearing in Genesis), Ren the cog in the machine.
The torturer is Ren Who Has Awakened (who is also the narrator). He's enraged with how the world works, and he's enraged at himself for participating, and he's enraged at the Powers That Be that coerce him into participating because there's very little ability to do anything else for the majority of us.
He wants to erase all trace of the Ren who participated; he wants to withdraw every drop of his participation from this planet-eating system of oppression. But he comes to see how impossible it is, and in the end he decides the only way he can escape fuelling the planet-eating is to erase himself (eg, there's no ethical consumption under capitalism).
Other fans choose a different angle, and that's part of Ren's genius. He doesn't just write doubles, he writes triples.
And then he adds extra layers of visual metaphor and symbolism on top.

I hear you what you are saying about the lyrical videos, I do hope you will understand that some songs Ren wants you to only have the lyrical version because he has art work embedded within it. Some times Ren does one version then releases and acoustic. I hope as you do the Ren journey you come to understand he is an artist and no two songs are ever the same.

I know you don’t like lyric videos but for pt 2, you have to unfortunately do the lyric video.. as the live version is only half of the song, and the visuals in the lyric video adds to the information given… this is one of the very few times you need to do the lyric above the live… you will find that Ren doesn’t only do simple lyric videos.. 😋😁… and if it helps the visuals are so all over the place you can take all the time to watch the visuals and not read the lyrics 😋

Appreciate the fact so much that you explained that Autism & ADHD is a massive scale. My son has non verbal severe Autism. The amount of times i get "rainman' thrown at me or asked what he is a genius in! My lad doesnt know what day of the week it is, needs 24hr care and has very little awareness of the world at all but that side of Autism is never spoken about. Although i love your reactions i think its mostly because you speak a lot of what goes through my head! Big love ❤
