So proud of Erika. Her mom Renita and I are classmates from elementary school to high school. Her mom was a straight A student and the kindest person you could ever meet. I knew her grandmother Mrs. Dortch because she taught 3rd grade. She was a really great educator, and her grandfather was a pillar in our community. I know Renita is very proud and so are we here in Goldsboro NC.
One of her grandma’s founded Mama Dip’s? OMG. That place was famous throughout the South like the Beacon in Spartanburg, until it recently closed. So wonderful to hear the legacy continues!
Welp, I feel a road trip coming on. I actually met her grandmother, Ma Dip, many years ago. Her food was so good I risked losing my job for a second plate at her restaurant. It's wonderful she's continuing her family's flavorful history. ❤
I have lived in Atlanta five different times and I currently reside there now but I have never heard of Bomb Biscuit and I eat all three meals out everyday but I’m happy to know about BOMB BISUIT! ❤
I would love to try some of ur biscuits my auntie gave me the nickname biscuit she's been calling me biscuit since I was 3 years old because I fell in love with her homemade made from scratch biscuits ❤
I’ll make a run here to get book and biscuit. This has to be limited to holidays and special occasions. I hope she figures out how to make a healthier version.
Erika great! This dude I’ve lost all respect for since T. Coates interview sabotage, I don’t trust him with ANY black excellence story. He needs to publicly apologize.
You could say that about any city or anything that gets notoriety and then ppl complain once someone or something is “too successful”. Reason, season, rarely a lifetime for ANYTHING
And you made it a point to search out and find 'the' video with "a dash of race", (your words). it really triggered your outrage for some strange(?) reason...
@@JuneBaby01 Her race has nothing to do with her success. She's successful because of her character, not because of her race. She seems like a lovely person and I'm happy for her. BTW, I didn't "search out and find" this video. YT recommended it.
Best answer in the world,
"Cause my Grandma says."

As someone that lives in Chapel Hill, yes indeed! So sad it closed.
i lived near the chapel hill area in NC and had no idea that it was founded by her grandma

Totally agree!
Her joyfulness is heartwarming. Congratulations to her!
Finance accounting. Honey she just didn’t know she was working toward her own business/ restaurant. Go ahead!!! And good luck to her.
What a wonderful lady, Erica is humble, kind and Uber talented. Good Gals do finish first 🏆 ✌️
Finally ate there a couple weeks ago. Man, it is incredible. We wound up buying the cookbook.

The interviewer was great! His questioning and excitement and participation was exemplary

They're pretty good. The only problem is finding a place to park.
@@dannyheel1 The place is for young people who walk and shop at other stores there.

So, your stove and microwave are for sale?
You should learn how to survive on your own & not depend on others so much.
Thank you for the message God bless you and your family 💖💙🕊️🙏
Beautiful story!
She has an anointing! This is her extra stream. Her money making gift 🎁 that God has blessed her with!!!
I would love to try some of ur biscuits my auntie gave me the nickname biscuit she's been calling me biscuit since I was 3 years old because I fell in love with her homemade made from scratch biscuits ❤

Love this story!!
I'm new in Atlanta & will check this place out.
Can’t wait to try them😊
I have her grandmother, Mama Dips', cookbook. Also, there was a professional athlete that raved about her grandmother's cookbook and cooking.
That’s actually pretty brilliant; get a finance degree, because she’s already a naturally talented chef.
Yay ATL girl! You da bomb!
Let me tell you, there's nothing like a country girl that can cook. Erica, I'll eat that up! 😋
I live in Atlanta and never heard of this place. I'm definitely gonna have to treat myself and take a visit.
Amazing story; so inspiring!!!!!
Gave it a try last weekend and will definitely be back
Congrats Erika! I will be paying you a visit soon.
That’s right, Erica cause my Grandma said so. My Granny used to say “put some elbow grease in it”. How awesome!😊
Also check out Biscuits N Jams in Memphis Tennessee
Keep up gud wrk lady we here in Columbia SC is very proud of you
You don’t need to add “southern-style.” A biscuit is a southern dish. There are no “northern biscuits.” 😂
Lord Jesus...
I love Europe....but biscuits are one of the foods I miss BIG time when im there. 🙄
Live in Birmingham, would love to try them.
Yum yum.........🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I will be there this week
Damn that looks amazing 😍😋

She an #HBCU grad too.
I’ll make a run here to get book and biscuit. This has to be limited to holidays and special occasions. I hope she figures out how to make a healthier version.

I live in Atlanta and never heard of her.

I'll let Chime Time be my deciding factor. As of right according to him, Atlanta food is trash.
Erika great! This dude I’ve lost all respect for since T. Coates interview sabotage, I don’t trust him with ANY black excellence story. He needs to publicly apologize.
Something about this guy since he did the interview with Coates. He comes off as condescending in his voiice with my people. He is not safe🤔
The origin of the biscuit is NOT black, it's English. It is the black folks later who made it delectable....
Mm.. An English scone is NOT a biscuit, but they are similar.
@NotYoung3592 In England, a buscuit is actually a cookie. Nothing like these "buscuits."
Not sure this is accurate.
Bisquick is cheating
Let me explain how Atlanta works. A really good place gets exposure, and here comes the riff raff to ruin a good thing.
Sorta like the comments section. Huh?🤔
You could say that about any city or anything that gets notoriety and then ppl complain once someone or something is “too successful”. Reason, season, rarely a lifetime for ANYTHING
I hope this blk owned spot doesn't come with a side of attitude and side eye. Also, I hope if you put in an order, they actually pick up the phone
Of course, they had to throw in a dash of race. Can't anyone make a presentation about a person without bringing up bleeping RACE?!
And you made it a point to search out and find 'the' video with "a dash of race", (your words). it really triggered your outrage for some strange(?) reason...
Hopefully she does okay with this. Black owned Turkey Leg Hut just closed in Houston with several million dollars in debt.
So how does being not ashamed of being a black woman seem triggering to you? Hmm.... oh that's right we're supposed to sweep stuff under the rug
Not in America, everything in America comes down to status, race, and class...

Biscuits were staples in the black family for breakfast, dinner and leftovers in between. Great article I just she would have mentioned Goldsboro, NC!
Mama dips wow didn't know that what a legacy
