This was my favorite show as a kid!
I remember the entire family gathering around the television set to watch this back in the day. Of course, back then television had no sound so it was hard to make out what was happening most of the time. But my brothers and I would get so excited to watch the man with the rubber wrist!
Their performance on Ed Sullivan was the stuff of legend.
Non american here: what show?
@@GermanBorquez I think it's a joke on the show appearence and references. It surely has that 80s TV show vibe that brings nostalgia, but this show specifically of Cory is brand new.
funny enough, i was a kid when this came out and still am
Nobody in music today has more fun than Cory Wong. It's infectious and everyone wants a part of it.
Jack Conte from Scary Pockets seems a fair competitor to that title
Dirty Loops
Have to agree, all the others too, and vulfpeck
The chemistry between the drummer and the bassist is absolutely gold
Which bass player lol.
Sonny, Cory, and Petar have played together for years via Dr Mambo’s Combo at the Bunker’s Stand.
This man Cory is CONSTANTLY pumping out the best type of content 😭
but at what cost?
@@thmsrttg Hours and hours of groove.
I want to say all the group :)
Content...🤦♂️ it's art
Love sneaking in the section of the nutcracker at 35:36 in the sax solo!
As an answer to 32:49 and everyone loves it 👍
After Wong on Ice, I'm more obsessed with Cory and the Wongnotes! Effortlessly one of my fave groups 💛💙
This group is off the hook.
@@dannnmerkle7930 Mm mm mm, indeed they are.
Thank you for basically putting out full concerts constantly on youtube.
Love that Trombone Solo from Michael Nelson in Tiki Hut!!!
Absolutely genius. The backing goes so stupid hard too. This band is a recipe for perfection
Flute solo by Kenni....sublime
michael nelson absolutely ripping into that tiki hut strut solo **chef's kiss**
Cory and Jon's harmonizing lines in Headin' Down to Bunkers is IT.
LOVE Sonny's Bass Playing and Tone - But ALSO LOVE Cory's bass playing too!!! Awesome Feel.... Wow!!!
Negah has so much swagggg! Go girl 🇧🇷
Glad this was re-cut. I worried these amazing tracks would be overshadowed by show itself!
The look on Kevin's face when he knew Sam was quoting his own little quote of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" was priceless! 😀
Funky nutcracker! I love that moment I heard the keyboard funk up that sugarplum. And the saxophone reply...YASHHhh! Musicians are the best people!!!
Cory, your music turns a bad day at work into a good one, thank you.
The second sax solo / freakout on Lee and the rest of the horn section's reaction to it was epic. We all turn into Shaun-Martin-looking-at-Cory-Henry-during-Lingus when a solo like that happens.
Are you talking about the one by Eddie Barbash? That shit was legendary. Someday I will tell my grandkids I was there on TH-cam when Eddie took that Lee solo. Then they'll shove me back into my space pod and launch me to my Mars retirement home where I'll never be seen again.
"Shaun-Martin-looking-at-Cory-Henry-during-Lingus" Love this expression 😄
The sax solo around minute 37:30 had a lick that sounded to me like Bela Fleck and the Flecktones's "Sojourn of Arjuna". (around minute 2 on the album Left of Cool)
I DIED at this moment 😵
Yes same league as Lingus
Best album I've heard in 10+ years. Totally original and incredible.
One of my favorite albums of yours! Thank you so much for being such an incredible person and uploading these sessions for free :)
This is the perfect start for 2022!
Love how the camera work highlights all of these incredible artists that make this band so great. Thank you!
That transition into the blowing session at the end of Lee really gets me. Thanks for all the love y’all put into this.
yesssss just binge watched all on the ones and the shows yesterday night, finally new content!
Cory, I love your playing! It's great to have just the videos for the songs by themselves!
That mix is so clean! Everyone plays so well they deserve to be heard. Great job!
Alto sax solo from 37 min onward is fantastic.
Lee is magic, Sam and Eddie’s sax solos are transportive.
I've got just one thing to say....why this band is not selling out stadiums i do not understand. I just got into (discovered) these guys this past summer.. I think they are the best band I ever heard.
the beginning of the synth solo in Lee is so good. SO MUCH SPACE AND TIME
Der Hammer, sooo sehenswert! DANKE!
Thank you, Cory! You're the machine that keeps on giving! I'm not sure we even deserve it but please don't stop! I got to see you in my city a couple of months ago and I'm still trying to process what I witnessed that night!
I've had to give up coffee due to health reasons so Cory's songs get me to wake up every morning. What an absolute blast this was, from the start right to the end!!
I saw this in the last couple of weeks we downloaded it and I was
Playing it in the background while I was cooking and dancing the whole time.
Outstanding musicianship and concert. Keep up the great work Cory and The Wongnotes!
Holy shit these were the actual recording sessions? I thought they were dubs they sounded so good!
Check out his On The One breakdowns, you can hear the mic bleed. Great example that a good song and good performance are more important than pristine recordings.
There _are_ some overdubs. At least some of the vocals parts on Coming Back Around.
@@oromoiluig I thought the entire thing was recorded in before and and the whole performance was just a lipsync
@@oromoiluig Oh. Here I was wondering whether the pianist was working some occult magic.
Coming back around is my favorite. Great album 🔥🙌🏻
Dude,
It is a pleasure to enjoy this spectacle, incredible how it embodies our concience. The complexity of the timbres and harmonies is breathtaking at how vibrant they are. The parts of the instruments or orchestra, in some cases, complemente each other, the voices that make up, the melody are added together and result is a bombastic sound that can make you laugh and cry without precedence.
Keep up the great work and sensational partnership . I’ve become a huge fan since last year by spotify, youtube and instagram.
Amazing session, Cory is a great experimentator and musician, perfecting with each next record!
The first ad I got started with the tonic note of Heist, completing a dominant to tonic resolution since Heist ends on the dominant. These guys are so good that even the ads want to jam along.
I can always count on Cory to be having me up and on my feet and getting busy shaking all the pain away! God bless great music! & Happy New Year to everyone!
CONGRATULATIONS! ... this is SUPER FUNKY! ... a true pleasure to watch & listen! ... GREETINGS and BEST WISHES from Europe/Austria!
god Petar going nutty in the last bit of Merci gives me life
As always a pleasure to listen to you!!! Thanks.....Excellent.
I am so amazed that a modern band has captured the spirit of Level 42 (well, and all the other amazing 1980s jazz/rock/funk/synth fusion bands, mostly Japanese) with their own spin. Hell yes, this is astounding. How does it exist???
I never seen these guys til today.. been listening to them all day.. so awesome.. !!
Left handed rhythm section - bass and drummer. LOVE IT!!!! (Including when the bass and Cory swap instruments) Love it.
Great stuff y'all! Loving it!
Man Nêgah Santos always brings the best energy. This looks like so much fun!
This is nice man, Cory and team, absolutely brilliant.
So happy I've got the vinyl.
Wow. Outstanding musicians all around.
Thank's for this session !
Dude. Sick. Absolutely beautiful and addicting rhythms.
I set this performance as my soundtrack for my life in order to make my days happier, and it works.
Didn’t know I waiting for this…but so glad I have it now!
You started 2022 off right for me!
Doppelganger alert: Tim Tebow is a fricken AWESOME drummer!!! Dude looks so happy you can feel it in the rhythm! All of them make it look so fun and easy I can't help but me in a better mood. Thank you so much!!!
uhh! thank you for the experience! simply fantastic!
You guys are super awesome 🤩.
Thanks for sharing your talent. It is appreciated 🤩
At first I read "Wongnettes", and a split second later realized the genius behind Wongnotes. Brilliant!
Man, the mix is perfect, so tight.
Theme and merci are absolutely. Wild
Can't wait to see this band next month!
How awesome can a band be? This is Tower of power 2.0 ... I´m flashed!
love it brotha full support !!!!!! yall remind me of the buddy miles band when he went solo
I used to praise individual members but you know what? Impossible, you all together are like a massive sound system that works like wonders.
seeing you in ATL on Friday!! so siked!
Wow Cory! I see you on that bass on Coming Back Around. Awesome job dude!
Saw these guys live in Salt Lake City a couple months back and it was such a killer show! Converted my buddy I took to following Cory.
Love this content. I listen to this at least once a month
Another one great album that I'll be listening on loop.
Honestly, even beyond his guitar skills the most impressive thing with Cory is his skills as a talent magnet. The people he gets to play with, damn.
it's hard to keep up with sooooooo much incredibly good funk... you guys just keep going
excellent ! i lov it ! 43min12 Eddie Barbash Solo and .... ...... ....
wow. that saxophone bit ending around 40 was insane
Bass drum and bass sound great, tight!
Man, Kenni Holmen is the secret weapon of this band. So good.
Kenni Holmen IS the gig!
i wouldn't call it a secret! hahaha. he's the turret that spins in all directions!
Guys! Not just Corey, all of you are amazing together.
yeah! Thanks for sharing Cory!
Can’t wait to see him next month in Nashville. It’s crazy how good Cory is also on the bass
That Lee version is still my absolute favourite. Barbash is such a killer!
Anytime I click on a Cory Wong and the Wong notes video, I just can't stop it...
wow, this is superb. Go Cory go!
This deserves a billion views, unreal
What a blessing
That horn section is something...
that baritone solo 34:00 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
wow another one! its GOLD¨!!! thank you
and another wow! the noodle guy on the (B)ass!!!! Yeaaaah! so funky! very nice executed!
Can’t wait to see you at the jazzfest, and off the record, you should be headlining it. Was selling you to the volunteers who hadn’t heard the hits you deliver. They were older….hoped they took my advice. 👍
So good!
Followin’ in the footsteps of Tower of Power 😎👍♥️🙏♥️😎
this should have millions more likes. people have zero taste now a days man. class class class right here
Thank you, funktastic!!
Please Please Please do a video like this for the full Turbo album!
Umm......speechless. What an arrangement. Such incredible talent. So great to hear music like this when we are too often surrounded by........crap.
Nice to see Cory w/a wireless instrument pack is getting better recorded tone than most w/cables
"Lee" is genius. Sax heaven.
Amazing!!
Cory looks like a little kid with a full size bass, so used to seeing him with the Strat!
And at the same moment, Sonny T looks like a giant with a strat.
Some serious Livin for the City vibes in there on heading down to the bunkers
FANTASTIC!!!
