- Meet R Pappammal, an organic farmer from Coimbatore. She is 105-years-old and was awarded the Padma Shri this year for popularising organic farming. Pappammal comes from a generation of farmers who believe in doing the hard work themselves. She owns a 2.5-acre farm in her village Thekkampatti.

If we want to make India more prosperous from all aspects, Women's direct contribution to the Indian Economy is must needed. Today, In India most off young women have confined themselves into the Chulha Chauka......I don't know whether they are being forced to do so, or may be she herself want to remain being inactive or being confined into Char Diwar. These are the most honorable people. I don't need to plant since I am in a position to buy expensive food from the store , still I plant fruit and veggies and share with my families, friends and my neighbors . In my country, people share their fruits and veggies during the season. We are overly blessed with our fruits and veggies. The more we share the more we get . Many third world people do not like to share , they like to sell even to their neighbors. I was shocked when I saw a neighbor selling herb to another neighbor for a few miserly penny.
