    Sir, Thank you so much for the detailed tutorial. Great job! I appreciate the time you took to explain everything in details.
    Also, I have a question concerning modeling an open channel flow, could you do that for us please I have never seen any tutorial about stream simulation that implies free surface modeling; in most of the tutorials, they all use pipes. Thank you!

      Open channel flow should be possible by following the same approach, but those types of designs often fall into the realm of civil engineering so you aren't likely to see a lot of similar applications.

    I am trying to replicate this using 2 solids that has not been merged, mainly a tank and water. May I know why I am unable to "disable solid body" in the initial condition?

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The checkbox to disable the solid body is there for convenience. If the body was already disabled previously in another operation it would not be available. The best way to view the status of a body and enable or disable it is to right click at the top of the study and go to Component Control.
      "Disable" means the solid body is not considered a solid object, which is appropriate if the body is only being used to define initial conditions, identify mesh regions, or allow for measurement in specific spatial regions. Enable simply means it is treated as a solid and will contribute to the closed volume calculation and will prevent fluid from flowing through it.

    I have been working with SD 2019 and flow simulations worked pretty well, but suddendly I installed SD 2020 for some updated that my company recommended and all the simulations crashed, when i try to do the same way I did on 2019, It is possible that flow has an issue?, or there's should be something to do in a different way As I used to? Thanks in advance

      There should be nothing in the way you setup and run studies that has changed in between versions that would cause this. It is possible that there is a bug in the specific version you are using that affects your workflow or perhaps your specific installation is having issues. I would check to see if the same studies solve on another computer if you have one, or reach out to your support provider to help you troubleshoot the issue. I want to simulate an open channel water flow. Just a flat surface (like an Ocean) with just water at the bottom and air at the TOP and generate a flow from one end to another. Would that be possible?

      Great question, based on what you describe that sounds possible to do in SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation

    Rightclicking on results bar doesnt pop up anything :(

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your version of SOLIDWORKS is older it may not have that functionality, and also you can expect different results when you right click on the color bar or the number scale. Additionally, if you are in the middle of a command, such as editing the definition of a plot, the option to modify the scale using right click won't be available until you accept that dialog and get out of that command. There could be other possible explanations, contact your support provider for additional assistance. Looks like the fluid did not interact with the top of the tank?

    • @MLCCADSystems
      @MLCCADSystems  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All of the walls in the study can be specified as open or closed, if the flow reaches the top of the tank it will interact there. It depends on the setup of the study.

      He set the top of the tank to be open to atmospheric pressure, so no direct interaction.

    what pisses me off is that comsol which is supposed to be a "multiphysics simulation software" cannot do this

      Each Simulation tool is going to have its unique capabilities, but we think the ease of use and the support system in place to help users be successful counts for a lot. Let us know if we can help.
