Tyrannomon was actually going to be the mascot for Digimon originally, before they pivoted to Agumon, hence why it's description describes it as 'the most basic Digimon.' He's basically one of the most Basal Digimon there is. Also I'm fairly certain Master Tyrannomon actually came out first, before Dark Tyrannomon. Master Tyrannomon was more of an NPC recolor in Digimon World 1, but overtime became more of it's own thing. I believe Dark Tyrannomon is based on that original World 1 recolor. Also, shame that you didn't show MetalTryannomon and RustTyrannomon, as they work as neat parallels to Master and Dinomon. Plus Rust is just like, in my top 3 favorite Digimon.

The pixel artwork of the Adult Digimon available in the Digital Monster Ver. 5 all use the Sprites from the Mothra Tamagotchi with DarkTyrannomon being based on Godzilla.
The highlight of the Digimon TCG for me is all the new art we get for Digimon, so I hope you keep showing them off going forward. Also, with the recent reveal of the Monster Hunter-inspired Greymon and Garurumon for the new collab V-Pet, I think it could be a fun idea to do a quiz focused on the collab Digimon. In addition to those Monster Hunter ones, there's also the Medabots-inspired Omedamon, and even though they're Digimon-inspired Medabots rather than the other way around, there's also Grey Wars, Garuru Metal, and Omega Knight. You'll probably have to wait till they release profiles for the Monster Hunter ones though since I think we only have artwork so far.

A bit of extra trivia on Dinomon is that its design is sort of a combination of multiple champion digimon all featured in the original digivice tamagachi aka the V-pet(tyranomon obviously as well as Meramon's flames and Seadramons tail.) Whats more is the lock on its bicep, which is a direct reference to the original V-pet being this little brick with a lock on it. Lame name aside, its a pretty cool sendup to some of the lesser appreciated OGs of Digimon

Accidentally clicked on a Yugioh video that I never watched and thought was this one when I came up with an idea for a Yugioh Quiz. Give a short overview of a card or archetype's lore and have the guys try and guess from 4 cards which ones belong to the archetype described. Came up with this one because of how confused the guys were at the worms.

Digimon has been very self-concious lately, to not have stuff like BigSnowmon, for example they made a Piranhimon after realizing they made a MetalPiranhimon with no prior evo. Dinomon goes into that same direction, there are: DinoHumon, DinoRexmon, DinoTigermon and DinoBeemon, but there wasn´t a Dinomon to go along with those

I'm glad Frigimon's land bridge was brought up. I don't remember much of the episode(s) he was in, but I remember that clearly. Because of it, I also remember that Sub-Zero Ice Punch is a mid-range freezing attack with a punching gesture, separating it from the regular Ice Punch. Wait, that first evolution looks like what the evolution of a Digimon Frontiers protagonist should be! That makes me wonder how new it actually is. Though, it's very normal for Digimon lines to weave in and out of each other, so it probably would belong to both in an RPG context.

Calling Tyrannomon the most basic example of a Digimon is probably a call back to it being one of the first. Essentially the first mascot before the anime came alone.
tyranomon is treated as Mediocre Greymon because, well. it is _literally_ Mediocre Greymon. like it wouldn't be incorrect in the slightest to describe it as agumon's _standard_ evolution, as greymon consistently serves the role as the evolution you only get if you raise an agumon with rigorous training and without making any major care mistakes. and greymon rewards that effort by being a genuinely powerful adult-stage digimon with a fiery temperament that can be hard to keep under control, but if you're good enough to raise one in the first place, you probably know how to wrangle that into a positive anyway. tyranomon ... has absolutely none of that. you can fuck up raising your agumon a few times or slack a bit on training it, and it'll still likely be able to evolve into a tyranomon. and like, tyranomon doesn't really have any extraordinary or even particularly noteworthy strengths, but it's still an _adult digimon._ if you got warped to the digital world and didn't have the tamer chops to raise a greymon, you could still absolutely rely on tyranomon to keep you safe from a lot of the various dangers you'd face along your journey it really is just the embodiment of basic and beginner-friendly, and not at all in a bad way. getting a tyranomon is by no means a failure, as by raising one you've successfully cared for your partner enough to keep it from evolving into numemon, and that's a legitimate achievement for a lot of newbies. in a system like digimon, you're always gonna need those mons that are just baseline good and reliable, and tyranomon's more than happy to be that pal to carry you while you're still finding your footing
Yukidarumon's move's names are actually a translation issue, with the 'Absolute Zero' one being the closest to the original. The english dub in Digimon has never been consistent, so there a couple of Digimon and moves with multiple dub names due to either mistranslation or them just changing stuff. The descriptions are just variations of the same move, it happens sometimes because when people work with Digimon that don't appear very often they usually end up not having anything but the name of the moves to work with due to Bandai doing a horrible job at archiving Digimon material in the early days.
I was completely with Mitch during the Master vs Darktyrannomon thing. I had assumed it was Darktyrannomon as well until the names and was confused. Also Darktyrannomon is just better- i mean LOOK at that 3d model!

Kinda depends if the cheese is used, 3 platinumsukemon to just mass grind exp to digivolve only to dedigivolve almost immediately to build up the stat thing, i think cp, needed to use the more iconic digimon which is needed in order to get to that point. I know that's what I did to use lillithmon and the rest of the team I wanted to use.

As a partner i always said tyrannomon but it goes to metal tyrannomon and then to Rusttyrannomon. But if it can slide into the new evo that be awesome cause it looks like a jurrac monster frome yugioh. (Look up some jurrac cards and you will see connections)

Kekekeke Nice of ya to look at some of the newer lines introduced in Liberator. While I have not followed the webcomic, I appreciate the new designs that they made for our old school friends. Since these guys are pretty new, there isn’t much to say history-wise, but for some of the older Digimon I have at least some fun details. Frigimon: A very old Digimon that has been seen as both ally and villain. This Digimon had very prominent roles in many of the anime seasons from being a friend to the Adventure squad, to being a daycare worker in Frontier, to being a nurturing Digimon to a human child in Data Squad. As you can see, this Digimon is very friendly and due to how innocent it looks, I understand why the anime did that. In the games, it debuted in a Vpet. The Gabumon one actually and it was one of the Champions you could get for not doing too well or too poorly. As a villain a small army followed a corrupted Mammothmon in the reboot. Note: Yukidaru is Snowman. Wikimon often uses their Japanese names. Note 2: To explain. The move Ice Punch is from a DS game and there wasn’t enough space to fit Sub Zero Ice Punch into the menu. So they went with Ice Punch. As Wikimon basically logs all the moves differently unless it is a translation error, Ice Punch was listed as a separate attack. Frigimon did not have a fluid Pokemon-esque Evolution line. Usually it just fits into random lines that are snow and ice based. So Polar Bearmon is actually a very nice addition to the canon. Note 3: A good thing is that if you folks are confused on wtf is happening with the low res normal art, the card art can help clarify. Skadimon is also something I love and I do appreciate that you realized that this Digimon is basically a MECHA piloted by the baby form Yukimibotamon. Note 3: Let it Go! Is actually not as stupid as you think as Disney is very popular in Asian countries… but with that they are not going to poke the giant sleeping Mouse. Tyrannomon: A favorite of mine and in its initial debut was part of the Vpet for Agumon! Tyrannomon was actually harder to get than Greymon, so many fans consider Tyrannomon a better evolution for Agumon due to this. Digimon Survive actually made many of them happy that the Agumon > Tyrannomon connection was made more mainstream. It has had many showings in the anime due to its age. It is mainly either a lackey or a bystander that gets wrapped up in the chaos of the villain's plans. Note 4: Interestingly enough, Buster Dive is a move from the Digimon World games where you raise Digimon like the Vpets. A lot of Digimon can use this move, but I guess it got given to Tyrannomon since the Card Game version shows Tyrannomon using it. MasterTyrannomon: A lesser known evolution of Tyrannomon that does not go into the cyborg route like Metal Greymon and Metal Tyrannomon. A battle hardened Tyrannomon that usually leads other Tyrannomon and in its debut in Digimon World 1, it commands Tyrannomon to join your town. After that it had sporadic appearances as obtainable Digimon of either the Greymon or Tyrannomon lines and then just stopped being obtainable. It then had NPC appearances. Wish it was shown off more in the anime as it is supposed to be the leader of Tyrannomon and it could have easily been a more wise warrior archetype to help the main characters. Alright, While Dinomon’s name is… bleh, I do appreciate this Digimon. Tyrannomon usually goes into Triceramon or Metal Tyrannomon and either goes the path of Cyborg/Mechanical Dinosaurs or Spinomon/Dinorexmon. While they are cool, there didn’t even seem to be anything that matched with the idea of a MOTHA FUCKING T REX as a final stage. We always had to go to other Dinosaurs, so when Dinomon got introduced as fricking Godzilla with flaming punching gloves that canonically evolved from Master Tyrannomon, a lesser seen form of Tyrannomon, I was hyped.
Dinomon is just Godzilla.
Black body that gets colors when batting, pinnacle of dinosaurs, goes into the sea after fighting.
Another reason why Kaijumon would have been a better name.

I'm glad Frigimon's land bridge was brought up. I don't remember much of the episode(s) he was in, but I remember that clearly. Because of it, I also remember that Sub-Zero Ice Punch is a mid-range freezing attack with a punching gesture, separating it from the regular Ice Punch.
Wait, that first evolution looks like what the evolution of a Digimon Frontiers protagonist should be! That makes me wonder how new it actually is. Though, it's very normal for Digimon lines to weave in and out of each other, so it probably would belong to both in an RPG context.

Calling Tyrannomon the most basic example of a Digimon is probably a call back to it being one of the first. Essentially the first mascot before the anime came alone.

tyranomon is treated as Mediocre Greymon because, well. it is _literally_ Mediocre Greymon. like it wouldn't be incorrect in the slightest to describe it as agumon's _standard_ evolution, as greymon consistently serves the role as the evolution you only get if you raise an agumon with rigorous training and without making any major care mistakes. and greymon rewards that effort by being a genuinely powerful adult-stage digimon with a fiery temperament that can be hard to keep under control, but if you're good enough to raise one in the first place, you probably know how to wrangle that into a positive anyway. tyranomon ... has absolutely none of that. you can fuck up raising your agumon a few times or slack a bit on training it, and it'll still likely be able to evolve into a tyranomon. and like, tyranomon doesn't really have any extraordinary or even particularly noteworthy strengths, but it's still an _adult digimon._ if you got warped to the digital world and didn't have the tamer chops to raise a greymon, you could still absolutely rely on tyranomon to keep you safe from a lot of the various dangers you'd face along your journey
it really is just the embodiment of basic and beginner-friendly, and not at all in a bad way. getting a tyranomon is by no means a failure, as by raising one you've successfully cared for your partner enough to keep it from evolving into numemon, and that's a legitimate achievement for a lot of newbies. in a system like digimon, you're always gonna need those mons that are just baseline good and reliable, and tyranomon's more than happy to be that pal to carry you while you're still finding your footing

Yukidarumon's move's names are actually a translation issue, with the 'Absolute Zero' one being the closest to the original. The english dub in Digimon has never been consistent, so there a couple of Digimon and moves with multiple dub names due to either mistranslation or them just changing stuff.
The descriptions are just variations of the same move, it happens sometimes because when people work with Digimon that don't appear very often they usually end up not having anything but the name of the moves to work with due to Bandai doing a horrible job at archiving Digimon material in the early days.

That card art for Tyrannomon is done by Kenji Watanabe, the guy who basically create the designs and the official artwork for the first digimons in the series like Tyrannomon, Meramon, Devimon, Agumon, etc

Kinda depends if the cheese is used, 3 platinumsukemon to just mass grind exp to digivolve only to dedigivolve almost immediately to build up the stat thing, i think cp, needed to use the more iconic digimon which is needed in order to get to that point. I know that's what I did to use lillithmon and the rest of the team I wanted to use.
Holy shit I made my own digimon a week ago and it’s name is Frozemon 😮😮😮 I can’t belive this coincidence ( I had the idea about a monster like this in elementary school but called it SirFrozemon so I remade the idea from my mon back then into a digimon line and one is called Frozemon wile the perfect form is called SirFrozemon )
As a partner i always said tyrannomon but it goes to metal tyrannomon and then to Rusttyrannomon. But if it can slide into the new evo that be awesome cause it looks like a jurrac monster frome yugioh. (Look up some jurrac cards and you will see connections)

It's sad that they didn't create a unique rookie level for Frigimon too, because in the Digimon Liberator website at the character portion says that it's rookie is Penguinmon

Kekekeke Nice of ya to look at some of the newer lines introduced in Liberator. While I have not followed the webcomic, I appreciate the new designs that they made for our old school friends.
Since these guys are pretty new, there isn’t much to say history-wise, but for some of the older Digimon I have at least some fun details.
Frigimon: A very old Digimon that has been seen as both ally and villain. This Digimon had very prominent roles in many of the anime seasons from being a friend to the Adventure squad, to being a daycare worker in Frontier, to being a nurturing Digimon to a human child in Data Squad. As you can see, this Digimon is very friendly and due to how innocent it looks, I understand why the anime did that. In the games, it debuted in a Vpet. The Gabumon one actually and it was one of the Champions you could get for not doing too well or too poorly. As a villain a small army followed a corrupted Mammothmon in the reboot.
Note: Yukidaru is Snowman. Wikimon often uses their Japanese names.
Note 2: To explain. The move Ice Punch is from a DS game and there wasn’t enough space to fit Sub Zero Ice Punch into the menu. So they went with Ice Punch. As Wikimon basically logs all the moves differently unless it is a translation error, Ice Punch was listed as a separate attack.
Frigimon did not have a fluid Pokemon-esque Evolution line. Usually it just fits into random lines that are snow and ice based. So Polar Bearmon is actually a very nice addition to the canon.
Note 3: A good thing is that if you folks are confused on wtf is happening with the low res normal art, the card art can help clarify.
Skadimon is also something I love and I do appreciate that you realized that this Digimon is basically a MECHA piloted by the baby form Yukimibotamon.
Note 3: Let it Go! Is actually not as stupid as you think as Disney is very popular in Asian countries… but with that they are not going to poke the giant sleeping Mouse.
Tyrannomon: A favorite of mine and in its initial debut was part of the Vpet for Agumon! Tyrannomon was actually harder to get than Greymon, so many fans consider Tyrannomon a better evolution for Agumon due to this. Digimon Survive actually made many of them happy that the Agumon > Tyrannomon connection was made more mainstream. It has had many showings in the anime due to its age. It is mainly either a lackey or a bystander that gets wrapped up in the chaos of the villain's plans.
Note 4: Interestingly enough, Buster Dive is a move from the Digimon World games where you raise Digimon like the Vpets. A lot of Digimon can use this move, but I guess it got given to Tyrannomon since the Card Game version shows Tyrannomon using it.
MasterTyrannomon: A lesser known evolution of Tyrannomon that does not go into the cyborg route like Metal Greymon and Metal Tyrannomon. A battle hardened Tyrannomon that usually leads other Tyrannomon and in its debut in Digimon World 1, it commands Tyrannomon to join your town. After that it had sporadic appearances as obtainable Digimon of either the Greymon or Tyrannomon lines and then just stopped being obtainable. It then had NPC appearances. Wish it was shown off more in the anime as it is supposed to be the leader of Tyrannomon and it could have easily been a more wise warrior archetype to help the main characters.
Alright, While Dinomon’s name is… bleh, I do appreciate this Digimon. Tyrannomon usually goes into Triceramon or Metal Tyrannomon and either goes the path of Cyborg/Mechanical Dinosaurs or Spinomon/Dinorexmon. While they are cool, there didn’t even seem to be anything that matched with the idea of a MOTHA FUCKING T REX as a final stage. We always had to go to other Dinosaurs, so when Dinomon got introduced as fricking Godzilla with flaming punching gloves that canonically evolved from Master Tyrannomon, a lesser seen form of Tyrannomon, I was hyped.
