    My 6 year old Ratonero Bodeguero is named Bertie and came across to the UK from Andulicia in 2018. As my first dog he has been so easy to train and is highly affectionate. We live in a small village very close to the local infant school. Bertie is known and loved by the local children and adults alike. He will happily sit out side the local play area, watching the children play. I'm pretty sure he believes he's responsible for each and everyone of them.

    Hey!!!
    in 2019 I bought in Spain, in Malaga, a Bodeguero puppy...
    For three years now I have been happy with my faithful friend, he called Lucky.
    the dog is very kind and affectionate, treats strangers with distrust. very smart and quick-witted, sometimes he tries to tell me something ....
    I recommend to buy this affectionate and kind dog, loves children very much....

    I'm from the area where the RBA was developed, and I know a lot of dog of that breed. They are really smart and cheerful, but you need to manteine a strong discipline bc they learn quickly to manipulate you with sad eyes and making faces. They are really good with children, really. I knew one female who was hours and hours with the children of the family, run and run in the gardeb, in the patio, swimming in the pool... And later, she was ready to go with them to the bathroom and stared while the parents bathing them. She was incredible patient with the baby. Only problem? She died with 13 years old and the family was devastated. All of them truly loved her. RIP, Nieve.

    Great video! My Freddie is a Ratonero Bodeguero and he is the most affectionate and sensitive dog I ever had. He knows when I’m feeling unwell and happily rests with me on the couch all day and on other days comes with me to all activities with the greatest joy. Also a great character feature: he barely barks, which is very handy in an apartment. He rather tries to get attention with making funny noises when he needs to go outside eg. Very smart dog, which also knows to manipulate me :-) cheeky, but he is TRULY a friend for life!

    Thank you for this educational video. I have a beautiful 7-months old ratonero bodeguero andaluz from Spain. He and his brothers and sisters all went for adoption from a beautiful little dog shelter. I agree that ratonero bodeguero andaluz is an energy bomb and love to run around but do not take me wrong, they are great dogs for apartments (we live in an apartment). They are extremely clever but stubborn. They learn a new habit and one day out of the blue they do the opposite of what they have learned to test the owner. When he goes to the field to hunt a rat or mouse, he is extremely focused and the yummiest goodies and meat cannot distract him. My question is if they could be a good dog as a service dog? Do you know?

      Easily! I have one and regularly take him on my daily run (when it’s not too hot) which is up to 7k. They are great company outside :-) However, I experienced that my Bodeguero can walk for hours but still has energy. He much rather prefers to run freely and chase around the field - nothing makes him happier :-)

    My bodeguero comes from Spain. He is a rescue dog. He looks more like a whippet with his slender build and long tail, which doesn't go over his back. He is also white,with spots and one black eye. That's why I fell for him. He is a sweet dog, but has a great instict for hunting. Probably because he was treated badly and had nothing to eat in the past he eats everything during our walks (dead birds,pizzas,bread, even plastic when there is something tasty inside.) He also has leishmania(which I knew beforehand). But what is worse is that he has growled and snapped at me several times. And has even bitten me quite severly. For no obvious reason. I have had many dogs(some of them problem-dogs) but this has never happenend to me before. I love him and don't want to lose him. But wouldn't recommend this breed to anyone. Well, at least not if they are from Spain and one doesn't know anything about their former life. I know the people who rescued him probably meant well and so do I.
    I give him everthing he needs and more. But it's not easy after my other dogs....

    • @Rocadog
      @Rocadog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are great for rescuing him. As you said, the temperamental problems are probably because he was abused in the past or he was not socialized (maybe both). Dont give up on him!

    It would be cool if you made videos on how to potty train your puppy. So you don't Wake up one morning to find grey big poop stain on the carpet. When the mailman comes to the door as he hands packages and asks you what's that. And we'll see I got to explain what that stain is on the carpet. And the mailman tell you might want find someone to help get stain out. And the mailman asked by the way which one of those dogs had the runs like that. And grandma said to the mailman well I hate to cut our covsetion short bye.
