I saw these guys live a few months and shouted "I am standing at the precipice!" at the top of my lungs at the start of this song. I planned it in advance and it's one of my life's greatest accomplishments.
@@systemsandhowtodestroythem474 Tom had a blood disease i think? In the song The Layers of Skin We Drag Around the lyrics "I feel like a 2.5" is about his INR. He takes medicine before to thin his blood because it clots a lot, maybe that's the reason. Anyway, he is greatly missed.

I love how "The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die" get's shortened to "The World is a Beautiful Place" in the video title and then "The World Is" in the lower third.

14:00 Brand Neely! Brad and I are both from this place no one has heard of called Arkansas. China IL was amazing, underrated, and should have never been canceled.
haha, i've heard of this band a few times over the last decade or so, never checked them out because i had a radar for bands with certain names cuz i wasn't into emo noise type bands like godspeed black emperor, glad i finallly listened, this is tiiiigh, remind me of some really good shoegaze and emo, wall of delay reverb and distortion
OK he's talking about Derek in 13:58 and to my knowledge no one named Derek has ever been in the band. And is that the Nicole person he's talking to and which gender is he/she? I'm confused.
Derek is secretly nicole, then nicole maried katie, who then discovered nicole had a dick, then they divorced, and nicole got kicked of the band. Not sure where is derek now tho.
Depends on the genre tbh for example if I go to a hatebreed or knocked loose concert I am moshing 100% but bands like modern baseball and the world is a beautiful place,I would never mosh at.
I have a weird relationship with this band. I like spoken word a la mewithoutyou, this isn't close though. This band is like all the shitty parts of my favorite genres. Drummer is dope though. Guitarist with hat/flannel is not bad.
It's an ok band. I loved some songs, the spoken word purpose is not bad at all, I like it, anyway, they're a extreme band, I mean, some of their songs are so good, but others are fckin horrible.
i'm going to see them live soon, and i'm wondering what it'll be like without her. she did all the "scream"-y parts and a good amount of guitar work. i have heard she's not such a nice person, though (and that's putting it lightly)
Seriously. They need to disband and crawl back to their safe space. If they must continue this garbage, they need to at least let go of the lead singer/poet/asshole position. Also need to let go of a couple guitars since they are all horrible but one is necessary.
Mracula123 they got rid of the stupid poet fucker a while back, and I think with this kind of ambient/emo mix you would need at least 2 guitarists. However they did get rid of the guitarist with the red SG so I guess they have down sized.
I saw these guys live a few months and shouted "I am standing at the precipice!" at the top of my lungs at the start of this song. I planned it in advance and it's one of my life's greatest accomplishments.
Props to the audio engineer and who ever set up/tuned the drum kit, those cymbals and drums sound heavenly!
Yeah, and in that small space!
Been 5 years and this is still one of my absolute favorite performances on AudioTree. I always come back to this.
You are smart
Drummer is a beast
Rest In Peace Tom Diaz ❤️
I still can't find out how he died.

He wasn’t in the band at anymore at this point.
The drummer... holy shit - amazing.

neat, Ari Shaffir is doing spoken word.
LMFAO. First thing I thought when I saw and heard him.
Yo. Lmfao I read your comment before they started playing and forgot and moved on, then ..
Bruh, Get this man his comment award 🔴

Ethan Doors hahahaha....love it.

You just think I'm NOT gonna notice that short cover of Modest Mouse's "Broke" for the intro? You were wrong. That was dope.
They’re what I consider to be one of my soul bands… like a soul mate but for music
i'm standing on the precipice
it's a cliff that i've prayed on before
so much so that despite the fact that i don't know if i believe in a god or gods anymore
my fingertips they bear callouses
my palms they bear callouses from pressing together so tightly
i pray hard when i pray
i've often thought that this maw in front of us was the end of everything
a darkness that consumed all, a black hole
do you know that we are made up of the same stuff that makes up the stars?
so, what flows through us may not be just blood, it may be stardust?
and we are dying
every second of every minute of every hour of every day brings us closer to that final day,
that final hour, that final minute, that final second, that final breath
which means when we run out of hydrogen we become giants, or super giants, or supernovas
and if not that then we are simply stars whose ill-fated courses end in collision
either way
we'll explode
with this in mind i reconsider the precipice there is something beautiful in its blackness, isn't there?
something beautiful in its persistence in swallowing us all?
the end of everything is the beginning of a brand new everything
the end of this universe may be the beginning of a brand new one
so that even now when my heart feels like the most congested intersection the world, it is waiting
i reconsider the precipice and so, in an effort to take part in reckless acts of self definition, I jump
and I ask you to join me
as i fall
as i let that beautiful blackness take me into its arms
i know that i will be safe in them
i know we, you and i,
all of us
we will be safe in its embrace
thank you
wow, that's blissful
THAAANKKSSSS /../
i fockin love this host-man
One of My favorite sounds and rhythms and vocals in music. ever
Mr host man was on some weird for this one I can't tell if he's crushing or tripping
He crushes with every band lol but at least he’s interested in his job so that’s good
He's odd. Not just in this one, but all of them.
Beautiful music the guitar tones are transcendent....great stuff!
Couldn't have said it better myself!
14:00 Brand Neely! Brad and I are both from this place no one has heard of called Arkansas.
China IL was amazing, underrated, and should have never been canceled.
I knew nothing about Audiotree prior to watching this but I immediately said "yep looks like an alley in Chicago"
They give off such a "haunting" sound/feeling; it's indescribable but incredible.
Took 37 minutes to feature all the members of the band
Why, so much hate? This is really well done.
agreed, the interviews were a bit cringy but whatever
this is what drumming is meant to feel like
10:03
YESSSSSSS I LOVE THEM! AND THEY OPENED WITH MY FAVORITE
so amazing! the last album that they put out was perfect
Very random thought, I think the intro guitar from start until 0:55 is taken from Modest Mouse - Broke
It is 100% a cover of Broke.
I remember the first time I heard modest mouse.
how it can be this gem got only 3k views
Super cool rendition of Modest Mouse in the intro!
haha, i've heard of this band a few times over the last decade or so, never checked them out because i had a radar for bands with certain names cuz i wasn't into emo noise type bands like godspeed black emperor, glad i finallly listened, this is tiiiigh, remind me of some really good shoegaze and emo, wall of delay reverb and distortion
this is fucking amazing
the amount of awkwardness in this interview is only the best thing ever
Holy fuck the guy with the red guitar is like a younger, rounder version of Jonas Renske! I'll never be able to un-see it now...
Tracklist? New to this band
Im here for the instrumentals
Amazing band, amazing set
So rad.
The world is a frightening place and I am so prepared to die

I’m here
to save you from yourself,
as you (simp) reply to a 2 year old comment...
昭 bless u, savior of simps
It’s Rhett
the drummer has a Cerce tshirt ! awesome powerviolence band
Intro was some sort of adaptation of Broke by Modest Mouse
Didn't realize Eric Wareheim was in a band
I’m so confused, you have a death metal name, a ambient rock profile picture and an emo indie comment.
The world is actually a beautiful place on Audiotree
Damn I must be the only one who thought the spoken word thing was kinda dope lmao
Me too. Really atmospheric
I think a lot of people like it, but recognize it’s different and a little emo, so they make fun of it to save themselves from being fun of lol
Why does this only have ~35k views?
Nicole wearing a Brand New sweatshirt is super ironic in hindsight
May I ask why?
especially considering she publicly outed Cam's accuser against their will
amazing
A fucking weatherbox shirt? Can they get any more excellent?
I wonder why they took the grill's off the Peavey 6505+'s. Just to look a certain way or they didn't want people to know their amps?
I just watched a Rig Rundown on Premier Guitar’s page and apparently, he bought his used and it was missing the grill.
That is a well oiled beard if I do say so myself
wow!
LOVE THIS!!!!
OK he's talking about Derek in 13:58 and to my knowledge no one named Derek has ever been in the band. And is that the Nicole person he's talking to and which gender is he/she? I'm confused.
Juho Dahl Derek was Nicole’s birth name.
Derek is secretly nicole, then nicole maried katie, who then discovered nicole had a dick, then they divorced, and nicole got kicked of the band. Not sure where is derek now tho.
Bonito demais
O mundo é um lugar bonito e eu não estou mais com medo de morrer.
baita banda
Honestly, moshing rakes the fun out of concerts. I don't want to get hurt and shoved around, I want to enjoy myself
I disagree, I want to hit shove people at a concert.
I disagree. By moshing you can only yourself, but help others too
Depends on the genre tbh for example if I go to a hatebreed or knocked loose concert I am moshing 100% but bands like modern baseball and the world is a beautiful place,I would never mosh at.

The guy in the hat looks like eric from the tim and eric show
that guy was in a band too!
Ok but why is Jake gyllenhal in this video
So many angry people in the comments. That must be exhausting.
I really like this band...without the poet guy stuff.
The spoken word guy managed to ruin one of the songs I thought completely incorruptible. Good job!
these guys dont take showers
The spoken word gives it an awkward Good Charlotte vibe...
beepst how?
It's an ok band. I loved some songs, the spoken word purpose is not bad at all, I like it, anyway, they're a extreme band, I mean, some of their songs are so good, but others are fckin horrible.
Audiotree - Please bring them back now that they have dropped the dead weight ( guitarist and spoken word dude)
What’s wrong with “back up bitches?”
This band deserves "the most reddit band of the decade" award.
Unironically
I wish their name was true. It really isnt lol
Tbh this isn't that great listening again...
anyone know ketie ig? just realize shes a girl
Interesting story but the solution to someone saying things you don't like is not to steal thier property. Hope that was a joke
did they realize there was a random annoying guy speaking while they were playing their songs?
I actually think spoken word is really interesting and it contributes in a good way to the songs.
Lol
Lmaooooo
cringy spoken word, awful, do like some of their tunes though
puaisascam puaisascam you’re new to the midwest scene huh?
Will someone please explain why is this band garbage without mentioning the spoken word?
Spoken word is the most cringy thing in the world...
I understand how one could feel like this, in the same time I really enjoy this session. Works for me.
I like this band but why are they trying to copy La Dispute?
How do you mean? At least to my ears, they sound pretty distinct from La Dispute.
@@Doffingnik I just mean the bearded dude doing the spoken word parts. That is La Dispute all day
@@dannygibson2597 La Dispute wasn't the first, this is a common thing in a lot of bands and genres.
i'm quite happy now that the fat guitarist left the band.

This is what happens when you drink too much soya latte and are not a very good musician.
nursery school music
Hmm, don't feel bad about never having seen them live now. They're pretty shit live.
what's shit about it? it's a great sound, and they're a tight band. fuck off.
I saw them live this year and the concert was really, really awesome!
probably the worst band alive

MoBro Out of curiosity, has the band ever commented on the rape allegations between Cameron Boucher and Nicole?
Garrett S. I didn’t even know about that until you just mentioned it so I’m really not the person to comment on it, Sorry
This band sucks. Before I knew any of their political leanings. They unfortunately screamed progressive. The drummer has chops though.
shut the fuck up
They do suck terribly LOL
