CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Dre (Jaden Smith) loses a point and wins two points in his fight against Cheng (Zhenwei Wang).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
When a 12-year-old from Detroit moves to China with his mother and incurs the wrath of the class bully at his new school, he makes an unlikely ally in the form of his aging maintenance man, a kung fu master who teaches him the secrets to self-defense. Upon arriving at his new school, Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) develops a powerful crush on pretty classmate Mei Ying. The feeling is mutual, although the cultural divide between Dre and Mei Ying makes a friendship unlikely, and romance impossible. When cruel classmate and kung fu prodigy Cheng learns of Dre's feelings for Mei Ying, he harasses and humiliates the young outsider in front of the entire school. With no one to turn to for help, Dre confides his fears in kindly maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), a kung fu master who knows that serenity and maturity -- not punches and power -- are the true keys to mastering the martial arts. As Dre prepares to face down his intimidating tormentor, he begins to realize that the real fight is just beginning.

The fact that the actor for Cheng is actually a pretty nice guy irl, shows how good he is at acting!
Hes part of Jackie chans stunt team now
He should have got alot of screen time
what a good acting 👏👏
i could tell that irl he's really good.
The actor playing Cheng is underrated af, dude's a real martial artist and at that young age he knows how to pull his punches while executing those amazing stunts.
His real name is Zhenwei Wang.

I like how Dre’s no longer afraid. He’s showing frustration that he’s now determined to beat Cheng
Dre kept hitting him every time Cheng was already on the ground. And Cheng's teacher was actually surprised by this move lmfao
He bullied him so Drew got payback
@@aarongaming2878 it’s not really that. If Dre didn’t hit him Cheng would keep getting up. He’s pretty tenacious so he had to make sure he stayed down. The rules stated that the opponent has to be incapacitated (not just knocked down) to get a point.

@@michaelulumbekov2073 Cheng was more intimidating, his performance was a thousand
@@juicee1483 ah? It’s your opinion, not mine.
@@michaelulumbekov2073 I don’t think it was about wanting to kill Dre but wanting to beat him down and break him so that he’ll forever be scared (at least that’s what Master Li taught them) no weakness, no mercy and no pain. Even beating Zhuang when he showed mercy to Liang in fight practice.
But notice how when Mr Han fought off Cheng, Liang, Zhuang and the 3 other goons in the courtyard without beating them nor hurting them further when they were already beaten down and incapacitated they respected him and didn’t try attack him further. I think the message from this film is when you’ve fought off your enemy to the point where they can’t fight anymore you do not need dish out further pain against them and show mercy
@@juicee1483 he was more intimidating i’m sorry and could fight better

Overall not a bad reboot. My biggest problem is that the characters are way too young to be fighting that viciously and with that much discipline.
Yeah, fair enough.
That's literally how people train and fight in Kung Fu in China. You should see some of the training methods that monks go through. They'll make you cringe.
Even pre-teens? And tournaments there have children that young going full-contact without any gear? It just seems to be a bit of a stretch.for a kid that's not old enough to grow facial hair.
They teach them how to have strong discipline and how to be strong and keep fighting even when you're hurt. I take Taekwondo and it's the same way. If you're tired or hurt, you keep moving. These kids are trained to handle the pain, so just one or two full contact hits in these tournaments are nothing. Watch UFC and watch them get beaten to a pulp and keep on fighting. I honestly don't know how those guys can take so many hits.
"Mad gay"- boy, is my face red.
Can we appreciate that Jackie Chan looked concerned this entire match even tho it seemed like Dre was going to win?
Yes, I also had that impression, why that?
@@paulloandre5929 obviously because dre has thigh injury
@@jazzmusic5371 And the treatment he gave him is a quick one but it's just enough to make the pain gone and he can move his left leg no problem for the rest of the match.
Seems more like he didn’t want Dre to take it too far out of revenge and spite. He looked concerned when Dre punched Cheng in the eye after he was already down.
He keeps hitting him in the face every time
its what you call payback.

My favorite moves 0:42 - 2:12
I'm 4 belts away from 1st degree black belt so hopefully they will teach me how to do the "Scissor leg lock" and then flip that Dre did to Cheng. 2:12 Actually watching the way Cheng fights got me interested in martial arts. I've been hospitalized so many times because of bullies in school guys and girls hitting me. The boy hit me so hard in the stomach that my splene went to my chest if he would of hit me harder my splene would of went to my heart and I would of died. My favorite line of dre's "Kung fu is not above fighting it's about making peace with your enemies." I'm in taekwondo though but after that I'm going to do Brazilian ju jit su. I want to protect my mom too if some guy hits my mom I will know how to fight.
