Window leaks were fixed using Gear Aid seam grip. I tried cheaper silicon but this is the only stuff that has worked well. I bought two tubes off Amazon and also used some syringes to apply it with.
Great tip! I had tiny holes and tent strap/tie downs that were broken. the previous 2 owners kinda abused it. I recently replaced the entire tent and the trailer refurbished. Look for a future video.
I'm not clear on how the damage happened to the tent material. Was it in a previous trip somewhere. I'm looking at these for boondocking, and am trying to find out how well they hold up. Also, how is it for overlanding? I go to some extreme places in W Tx.
te heat seals securing the windows to the tent failed. I knew the wondows were out when I bought it. Supposedly some early models had this issue, but was fixed in later ones. I've never overlanded with it.
Standard practice once the warranty is over is rip off the fenders and upgrade the tires to something more offroad friendly. We take ours up forest service roads of varying levels of maintenance ( some pretty sketchy) and it has been a trooper through it all. The newer windows are sewn and welded. They feel silicone rubberish feel.
no. the window issue was on early models where the heat seams that secured the windows failed. The issue was fixed in later models. Kelty manufactures the tents BTW. The tent material itself seems twice as thick as most tents.
@@guillermoortiz1492 yeah, just yast year they were 11k to start. I found mine used. A family of 3 +2 , would be really tight I think. Maybe a Casita if you can find/afford one.

@@nwsports8043 thanks for the info on the tent windows. I still haven't replaced mine.
Are these known to rip easily? How has reliability been ,or leaks with rain?
