A few weeks ago I saw you posted this album, remembered your work in the past, said "yooo" like many others here, then set it aside to listen to it later. Now, I'm very glad I came back and gave the whole thing a listen. I only know you from a few things before, and those tracks were nothing like this. Great album, not only does it sounds like a funky George Clanton at times, but the soul-searching catharsis of this album is pretty palpable. This album came to me at an interesting time; in one of the earlier tracks, maybe one of the Dreams, you say something like "I look at my 6 drank PBRs and my ashtray full of cigarette butts and its no wonder I'm so fatigued after just an hour of doing ANYthing." And I get it; I've been a drinker and smoker for basically a decade now, and just recently stopped both (a week ago- let's hope it lasts), and for the last few years I've felt like I can't accomplish anything, any goals. Then there was another dream, I think it was the 2nd one, where a guy talks about some of his favorite memories and I'm sitting here thinking how I have spent so long being inebriated that I can't remember so many of the great times I know I've had. And I dunno man. I feel like there's hope; there's something out there to hold on to even when you feel completely fucked over for life. Just the other day, I said to a friend "I think I'm past the suicidal part of my 20s" and then I look at the past and I think of the future and I feel that, I really do. Keep making music man, if your sound and lyrics reach other people even a fuckin' fraction of how they reached me, you've made it. You've hit gold. There's something left for all of us. Don't wither away. Don't wither away.
Been really obsessed with your music lately, so it's great to see this album finally come out. Your music is always some of the most emotionally charged I've ever heard and the lyrics stand out to me in a way a lot of other songs out there simply don't. You can really get lost in the atmosphere in some of these tracks, it's almost like you're traveling to another world. I hope your music really blows up cause this thing is 3 hours long and it deserves to be appreciated. I really hate using the word "masterpiece" to describe media because I feel like the word gets tossed around a lot, but I can't think of a better way to describe this album - the whole thing is an experience. Also JC/RiZi is one of my fave artists of all time so hearing them in this was a blessing. Fave tracks: Saturation, Counting Sheep, and Gettin Down With It Part 2
