He would just perform live at parties and clubs. Kurtis Blow would be the Godfather of rap as the first rap recording artist in 1980. Slick Rick and Dougie Fresh also dropped "La Di Da Di" in 1984. Easy E didn't come on the scene until 1988, and as I said, he took rap gangsta.
