The stock is completely disconnected from the company. The stock ran from about a dollar and change to 66.99 while they were unprofitable because of egregious FTD. i'm in the same boat as you and would love to take a long position, but I'm waiting to see if Onvo turns out to be like the ET5 disaster or people actually buy enough of them where they can scale production up to turn a profit. all the discounted cash flow modeling I have done to this point is a waste of time I just thrown them in the trash because they keep moving farther from profitability. Now with new factories coming it's impossible there isn't more dilution before the end of the year they have to be well under 500 million of working capital at this point to give them one more year of cash I'm looking at a 35 to 40% dilution at these share prices

Have diversified NIO holding 20,000 Shares only. 17% each in SOFI, UPST, TSLA, SHOP, HOOD. It provides better growth as all projected to grow 100% plus over next 12 months with NIO projected 4X

The stock isn't even hard to borrow, so how is naked shorting a factor here? Also a ton of stocks have spikes in FTDs, nobody is gonna investigate 0.02% of the shares being FTD, and looking over it I can see most of them were delivered the next day. I have seen other communities closely track FTDs in their stock and it has never mattered.

Hello, I am NIO investor too, and i did some research 🙂. Naked shorting is illegal, and it probably happens sometimes. The fact is that it can be traced, so when it does occur, it's usually with some empty shell companies that are hard to trace, but that also makes it increasingly difficult... FTD (Failure to Deliver) happens too, and that's because trades are often chained together, so when one settlement fails, the entire chain can "collapse." From my perspective, it's mostly a technical error... Some brokers process sell orders manually, and that introduces a high rate of error... When it comes to FTD, you have to watch for undelivered shares vs. total volume vs. total shares outstanding. And as you can see with NIO, it's nothing significant... If I’m calculating correctly, it’s not even half a percent of all issued shares, so from my perspective, this is definitely not market manipulation.

Why don't you retain a class action law firm and become the named party in a suit with thousands of other members in the class. Many would join if it was on a contingent fee basis and is intentional and counter to US security laws as you suggest. Do something other than complain, or sell your shares. Some of your info is helpful but much of your lessons learned apply to naive beginners which you maintain you are not, but I would think that if you were not getting burned we wouldn't constantly have to listen to it. I love Nio and have owned shares since 2019 but have not averaged down. I've sold bought back, sold, bought back and certainly been hurt but that's life. Until NIO is consistently profitable it's ripe for this type of action. You need to accept that or move on.

How do you expect to maintain any stock momentum if the top institutional holders are selling. In the June quarter, BlackRock (#1 holder) sold 2.2 million shares, GOldman (#4 holder) sold 5.6 million and UBS (#5 holder) sold 4.8 million. Between these three firms, 12.6 million shares were sold and Morgan Stanley (#2 holder) yet to report. Naked shorting will resolve once market sentiment returns to NIO. The company is not trading on fundamentals and there is no need for us to think that will change soon. Waiting for June earnings. 😊

Why is it so hard to understand that, at Nio's rate of cash burn, it will not survive without raising significantly more cash via share dilution? Maybe, just maybe, this is why large institutional investors are reducing their positions and investors are shorting the stock. This will not change until Nio trends toward profitability. Because use of users data as similar complaint with Tiktok was still banned despite a very easy & relatively easy go between to keep regulators happy wasn't an option... The US government actually wanted to blackmail Tiktok into selling it to a select group of US investors including US congressman and officials was pitched as an ultimatum to the Tiktok CEO & Bytedance!!!! Or else be potentially banned!!! This shit actually happened, & people Don't even think about the obvious lack of ethics or considerations or ramifications!!! People invest into the US stock market.. & This is the behavior?? Honestly!!! Honestly I hope that I just woke up too early had too much coffee & completely out lunch.. But I have to say it, the US is basically bankrupt, desperate, & instead of looking at improving their country within their own borders.. They are now trying everything to contain China... Especially the EV'S that they produce, & are clearly trying to influence other regions to have similar all out China approach!!! This is bad news when we are just regular investors trying to make money here.. This isn't even a consideration when you think about the US government anti China agenda... Question is will we be rewarded financially at all? I have my doubts here... & it has nothing to do with NIO at all, truth time will they become profitable... The stock isn't even hard to borrow, so how is naked shorting a factor here? Also a ton of stocks have spikes in FTDs, nobody is gonna investigate 0.02% of the shares being FTD, and looking over it I can see most of them were delivered the next day. I have seen other communities closely track FTDs in their stock and it has never mattered.

Hello, I am NIO investor too, and i did some research 🙂.
Naked shorting is illegal, and it probably happens sometimes. The fact is that it can be traced, so when it does occur, it's usually with some empty shell companies that are hard to trace, but that also makes it increasingly difficult...
FTD (Failure to Deliver) happens too, and that's because trades are often chained together, so when one settlement fails, the entire chain can "collapse." From my perspective, it's mostly a technical error... Some brokers process sell orders manually, and that introduces a high rate of error...
When it comes to FTD, you have to watch for undelivered shares vs. total volume vs. total shares outstanding. And as you can see with NIO, it's nothing significant... If I’m calculating correctly, it’s not even half a percent of all issued shares, so from my perspective, this is definitely not market manipulation.

Why don't you retain a class action law firm and become the named party in a suit with thousands of other members in the class. Many would join if it was on a contingent fee basis and is intentional and counter to US security laws as you suggest. Do something other than complain, or sell your shares. Some of your info is helpful but much of your lessons learned apply to naive beginners which you maintain you are not, but I would think that if you were not getting burned we wouldn't constantly have to listen to it.
I love Nio and have owned shares since 2019 but have not averaged down. I've sold bought back, sold, bought back and certainly been hurt but that's life. Until NIO is consistently profitable it's ripe for this type of action. You need to accept that or move on.

Why is it so hard to understand that, at Nio's rate of cash burn, it will not survive without raising significantly more cash via share dilution? Maybe, just maybe, this is why large institutional investors are reducing their positions and investors are shorting the stock. This will not change until Nio trends toward profitability. It's not rocket science. Reality is what it is, not what we want it to be.
