That's bananas.
@@Holland_Oates Yes indeed 🤣
Absolutely devastated by the passing of Lynch. Such a wonderful artist. I have never seen that first dvd you showed. Definitely gonna have to try to pick that one up. Great vlog, as always!
Thanks so much for watching and the kind words. I was also devastated by the passing of David Lynch, very upset, it really hit me hard. Rewatched The Art Life last night which I've seen many times. What an amazing filmmaker and artist.
I always feel like I don’t quite “get” Lynch (and have read/watched explanations to help), but I’ve always really liked his work anyway. That night, I watched the next episode of TP in my family’s sporadic re-watch and half of “Mulholland Drive” (had to finish it the next day due to time constraints).
Yes, some of his films are like puzzles that I can't quite figure out. I was just rewatching "David Lynch: The Art Life" last night which I've seen many times and it continues to help me better understand him as a person and a filmmaker.
Hello
Dave and Jessi
Me and the family are rewatching threes company and what’s happening. I recently purchased the complete Twins peaks series. I think it’s the perfect time to start watching it my favorite Lynch movie is the Elephant Man. Wonderful vlog as usual.
Thanks so much. Wow, great that you are watching some older sitcoms (love those shows). Twin Peaks is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. Season 3 is really good. Hope you have a great week.
Hey both. I’ve been a bit poorly recently, probably due to the up and down temperatures. The new shelves are looking great with that ‘just fit’ look that we managed to achieve too. Mixing Blu-Ray and DVDs would have driven me crazy.
Yes, sad news about David Lynch. A great film director, just not my cup of tea. We’ve been sprinkling in some 60s and 70s recently after over dosing on Film Noir. A UK boutique store had a 40% off Kino 4Ks so I upgraded my Three Days of the Condor disc. Stunning!
Best wishes to you both.
So sorry you haven't been feeling well. Temps here have been up and down too but now we are in a deep freeze 🥶for a few days. Luckily, we went the store yesterday to pickup supplies so we can hibernate. We love the reconfiguration of our new shelves, more room now for me to add to my collection. What other 60s or 70s films have you been watching? I love Three Days of the Condor. You reminded me also that I want to place a Kino Lorber order soon. All the best to you too. Hope you have a great week.
@ Chinatown, The Italian Job, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, and Thunderbolt and Lightfoot are some that we rewatched but for the first time in 4K. After watching those we both felt the experience was more immersive in 4K, so with Three Days of the Condor being one of my favourite 70s films, I thought it it time to upgrade the Eureka Blu-Ray. My husband naturally thought Faye Dunaway was immersive in UHD! Yeah, I loved seeing her and Robert Redford on screen together.
@@MsModestyBlaise Wow, those are great films! When I think of the 1970s, I love revisiting Serpico (1973), Straight Time (1978), Night Moves (1975), Jaws (1975), Close Encounters (1977), Five Easy Pieces (1970), Klute (1971). There are so many amazing films. Three Days of the Condor is a classic! Need to upgrade many to 4K especially after you described your positive viewing experiences.
@@CinemaDaveMedia Wow! Now you’re naming some greats. We have Blu-rays of Serpico (Eureka), Straight Time, Night Moves (WAC), Five Easy Pieces, and the amazing Klute (Criterion) as well as Jaws in 4K. I heard Night Moves is getting a 4K on your side of the pond which I hope will come here. We only upgrade our favourites to 4K and only if the Blu-rays are a bit shoddy. For well put together boutique releases that have received a new 4K transfer we feel that they’re nice as they are.
@@MsModestyBlaise Yes, the Criterion 4K release of Night Moves is at the top of my list to pickup at the next sale. The deep freeze here has me wanting to watch more films these days.
