- SIDE NOTE: There's something weird going on with the lighting in the void which makes the base 2 colored. In my other video I filmed during the night and the color is fine (it's supposed to be black), so I apologize for that.
Added a few modules to my previous base for a newer and even better imersive experience in the void. You can now explore the void at 1000+ meters to it's full glory. Check out my last video of this very base.

@@Whisteria unless i misplaced some reinforcements, if i leave the door open the lower sections flood, and the breach is always right behind the door... that and my game occasionally glitches out the Glass Corridor the door leads to letting me become a seasnack...

Something about the void leviathans is more terrifying than anything else in both games. It's not just that they're bigger, it's that they look OLD. They look ancient, like they've survived for centuries in this completely inhospitable place. Getting smarter, more resilient, and damn near impossible to kill.

@@overl0rd883 so progress a ways, enemy appears from nowhere, dying repeat until the build was done? did you make a death counter when making the base? oh and how deep was the Point Nemo Section? beyond what the ships can handle?
@@jakeforgey5378 no I didnt. There's a way around it tho, if you rapidly go up and down the base they dont catch up immediatly, so there's some time there. Point Nemo is at 1008m I think (not sure right now), the ships go up to 1100 if im not mistaken

It's for the sole purpose of marking the hatches when I went outside to do stuff.

@@flyc0de389 to be fair, you're probably the smallest thing they're willing to eat. The grabbing is likely a force of habit they've picked up for the prey they're accustomed to.
@@xethified you are right, however I explained myself wrong. The swallow animation shows how the Cheli grabs the player as if they were the size of a hamburger, while in theory the player should be the size of an olive or smaller
@@flyc0de389 That's fair. The first game also had a lot of size discrepancies but because there were no complex animations to make them more apparent, it didn't break immersion. The first game really did a lot with the little it had.

Guys If you decide to build around the walls of the void, mind that the lighting during the day time is kinda wierd, my base has 2 colors during the day, at night it's the color I chose and it's completly normal ( It's supposed to be black). Maybe it's just my game. I hope it's not an issue.
I would definitely not feel safe going down there. You're walking down the hallway and suddenly something that could grab said hallway in its jaws swims by...nope!
Theoretically you could do a deeper base as the seafloor in the void is roughly 3000m, still neat to see this base especiallu in survival

Both are scary in their own right lmao, I think it really just depends on what you find more scary, a giant see through monster, or a zombie monster.
I think its cause Ghosts are scary in a sorta; ethereal, and well, ghostly, way. Whilst these guys are scary in an ancient and old type of way.
One is beautiful and haunting, glows completely in an endless dark, whilst the other barely glows except the eyes, is greyed and old and tells of how long its survived in a dead zone
This base is incredible. Keep up the good work.
Fun fact, even with modern diving skin suits your ribcage will be crushed just under 300m of depth
to explore up to 700m below a special diving suit has been created called the ADS which looks more like a space suit

Below Zero has a lot more building capabilities, I just realized
You can take the big ass rectangular rooms and use them to create a giant housing unit for any type of creature including the chilicerate. It takes a long time but it’s so satisfying

In custom mode you can toggle off things like food, water, damage, requiring materials/blueprints to construct bases. Sadly you cannot prove 100% you built something exclusively in survival mode anymore.
@@AloisAgos You can do all that, but it would take away the fun of it, at least personally. You can also stop the weather events, night/day cycle, unstuck yourself from bugs and a lot more. It came with the Seatruck Dock update.
@@overl0rd883 I know. Though it is nice to think you could build your perfect base as soon as you start the game and THEN play the rest of the game in survival. I actually built a base in the entrance of the Koppa mining site for that very reason.
the soundtrack and the chelicerate gave me the creeps nice work making that with all the leviathans

Random question but have you tried building a void base above water? In the first game you can make the ghosties jump around 6 storeys high, haven't tried it with the crow boys in below zero yet though.

Can ghost leviathans or void chelicerates hurt your base? I’m thinking of making a void base but i’m not sure if they can damage the base.

Seeing the leviathans from inside a base will always be scarier, because you properly see the scale. I mean, this is a carnivorous crustacean the size of a whale, but when you’re in the prawnsuit it just looks like a monster. When looking through the window, you see death.
A very well executed predator. I thought I liked the Ghost Leviathans more, but this one definitely takes the cake. It's a freaking zombie whale shrimp alien abomination, I love it.

I have two videos on this base, this one was updated (I explain it in the description). I added some parts to it that I felt were needed. Plus, the last one was filmed at night, this was during the day, totally different vibe.

with bases like these you just know somewhere there's a giant fucking tower of multipurpose rooms with reenforcements on all sides to give it the base strength needed

@@jakeforgey5378 but in this case its just a funny detail, they cant break your base, plus I reiforced the upper part quite well so I could build in peace. The structure penalty goes up with the depth
ah, probably just a leak triggered due to pressure depth as they brushed it, and yeah i underestimated the need to Reinforce things, i severely underestimated it. though i will mention: Remember NOT to panic if it floods when they are near and accidentally remove a section in your panicked fumbling to fix the leak... that was my main mistakes, besides as mentioned, Depth needs reinforcing. also is the Allowed Time 10 min due to power constraints or just to help make the ambiance even more terrifying? also don't add Enemies can affect structures mod.... it makes it a pain building there...
