- Just past the bridge at the Glen Canyon Dam outside Page, Arizona is a short hike called The New Wave. Any car can get there and there are no permits required. Worth a quick stop if you’re in the area.

30 years ago I´ve found that "place" too. As a german with no information about the "real wave" I thought: That is it. Some years later I knew: The real wave is in the Coyote Buttes!
The New Wave trail also includes an area known as The Beehives. Both trails are not difficult and well worth the effort.
The storms cut my adventure short that day, but I'll be back.
The sweeping rock formations are reminiscent of the hairdos wore by the band “Flock of Seagulls”🤘😂
lol! No I really did lol.
Bummer! I was just in Grand Canyon over the weekend, would have been cool to check it out. Thanks for doing what you do, showing cool spots and hikes plus details. Thanks!
Loved and appreciated this video. Thanks!
If I met you id want to shake your hand. And ask how tf you're so good at shooting and editing footage, while also being an expert outdoorsman.
I figured Page had more to offer, but ive never stopped there for long. thanks for the recommendation!
Page is an amazing area of AZ. You find Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Rainbow Bridge and Glen Canyon there, not to mention Lake Powell
Thanks! I'm just a hiking and camera/editing nerd. Started watching YT videos on how to do it and found out I really liked it. Appreciate the compliments though. Page is amazing. We were just back up there this weekend checking out other spots. I don't think I'll live long enough to see everything there is to see up there. But I'm gonna try.
Drop dead gorgeous. You're ok too.
😂
If you like the Wave and White Pocket you should try Yant Flats to Candy Cliffs Utah. Not quite at that Wave level but pretty cool, and no permits needed.
Meant to check that out a while back. Ended up falling in Cathedral Gorge, broke a couple ribs and had to go home early. But I'll get there.
@@JerryArizona Been there twice. One of them the nats and bugs were really bad.
Beautiful place! Love the music, too! ❤
The view at 1:31 startled me; looks like you could slide all the way down into the drink. What an amazing looking place!
It's pretty steep in parts, for sure.
Wow....just wonderful. Thank you for the info also.
While there, did you see a rock? It wasn’t a rock? It was a “Rock Lobster”?🦞
We almost went there today. Bad clouds over head kept us in the RV today. I bet we would have met you there. Dam. Sure would have been cool to run into you. Love the channel.
Ah, this was filmed a while ago. Finally got around to making a video. However, we WERE just up there and barely dodged a pretty good downpour. So much to see up there.
I love me some flock of seagulls
I am currently listening to I Ran (So Far Away) while I type this response.
Especially love your choice of music.
Gorgeous and majestic ❤
I was watching a TH-cam video earlier this week, an ad came on so I started surfing the web. Then I heard a voice that sounded familiar. I looked up at the TV, an lo and behold...it's Jerry Arizona with a testimonial about that water pump system you reviewed not too long ago. Congrats! I can envision you being the next Ron Popeil.
Ha! I love Rinsekit, but I think I'll stick mainly to trip videos and leave the reviews to the professionals. Speaking of Rinsekit, I wonder why they haven't called me about their new car mounted shower system.....
Was there in March. One of the many very cool places in the greater Page area.
I have explored so many hidden gems throughout AZ & Utah because of you!! Out of all the places, I enjoyed Moab & Tucson the most. Sadly, I just moved to Modesto, CA for work but it makes me feel good seeing one place I got to before you did 😂! If only there was a channel with someone like you for Cali :( ! I’m thinking Yosemite will be my biggest friend out there but maybe my only friend too
Ah, California. Plenty to do out there. Check out Livehardxlovehard or hike with Jina. LHxLH is now doing a lot more extreme stuff, but I think they're Ca based and their earlier stuff could be done by us normal humans. Hike with Jina doesn't post much but she had a lot of Yosemite stuff on there.
I was there last summer and like you, I had the entire place to myself to explore. I loved it.
Does one need a permit?
Very cool video, Jerry.
I love the music you use in your pieces, it adds a lovely etheral-ness to the images.
😂 No dissing a musical genre completely, every genre has its keepers and tossers. 😂
For sure. I have really, really diverse musical tastes. Including some 80's/new wave stuff. But I also like to make fun of stuff, so sometimes I can't help myself.
I lived through bad 80's music movements! Thanks Jerry, will ad it to the list.
Love the channel and the photography, Jerry! Speaking of WAVES... Cannot get a permit. Been trying for years. Where can a law-abiding, tax-paying US citizen go that is Amazing with no fees, no licenses, no passes, no permits? Please do a video on that!
Maybe try contacting one of the guide services out there in Page or Kanab. Not sure if they have secrets to getting permits, but it can't hurt. Otherwise, just keep entering the lottery and eventually you'll get lucky. As far as non-permitted places, Toadstools, White Pocket, Buckskin Gulch (may require a day hike permit, not sure), Yellow Rock, Wawheap Hoodoos and much more. Coyote Buttes South is also amazing. It requires permits, but they are much easier to get.
@@JerryArizona Thanks Jerry. Amazing what the Vermillion Cliffs area has become. Way back in my younger days I drove the AZ strip frequently passing through on 89A. Loved it! But did not know the extent of what natural beauty it held. Now everyone knows. Times we live in!
Great video. What is the name of that song & singer you used??
Secret No. 3 by DaniHaDani. I added it to the description. I usually put the songs in there, but forgot when I posted this. I got it through Artlist but I'm sure it's available elsewhere. She's got a few good songs I've heard to far.
Is that steep traverse around 1:02 strictly necessary or is that just the approach you chose?
You can kind of walk around where you want. I have a habit of climbing stuff, but you could definitely stay on more level, easier ground and explore.
I saw some faces in time. Thanks for the video!
Me too. Looking off to the horizon
Does someone know what this music is?
Secret No. 3 by DaniHaDani. I got it off Artlist (for copyright reasons), but I'm sure you can get it other places.
Haha, the 80s jokes are an added fun here in these comments.
Permit abuse to hike the REAL 😂Wave
Fuck it the rallying to Whitepockets was more of a buzz, Half Dome much better at least it’s a hike, wave a beginner hike more retirees out there 😂
Thanks Jerry 👍
Looks like the perfect place for Don Juan and Carlos to have a walkabout and some lunch.
I've been digging your channel right up until you said new wave was "a bad 80s music movement". Dude, not cool. I'll still check out your videos but not cool.
Having an opinion you don’t agree with is “not cool”?
The skin is thin in this neck of the woods😅😊😊
This has got to be a joke. 🤔Karens don't watch this channel... do they?
I wonder, if Jerry had dissed a nugent, or a kid if you would have commented likewise?
😂
