- In this first descendant video I explain how gleys ultimate ability actually works and how to properly build around it.
There are a lot of misonceptions on how it works and it is making people build her wrong so hopefully this helps you build the best ultimate gley you can.
This will help you pick the best weapon for gley so you know to pick between thundercage and python
Ok so some people are still confused about the crit part.
Think of massacre as just being your gun + the added damage.
The gun is still your exact same gun with its crit, and its crit damage, - the ultimate ability and converted to nonattribute damage.
The massacre part is its OWN damage independent of the gun, and is affected by gleys base crit and gleys crit damage, but not by the guns.
So both parts of the damage have their own crit values. But one portion of the damage is virutally identical to the base weapons, but with a different range modifier, and does different damage to 2 bosses that have weird resistances.
so basically for massacre we jsut need a gun taht shoots really fast and put as much possible skill power on gley ? i have her max out with and python, i did not max out python yet, but still not doing too much damage, prob will do your guide and build =D

this was very helpful thanks. I hadn't seen any misleading info but had come to my own miss lead conclusion lol. Ive already got a build im kinda happy with on my normal gley but I'll bare this in mind when i come to put a build on my ultimate gley who i just started reaserching.

What I really want is for each of her transcendent mods to be a different weapon on top of their normal effects(although I'd make some changes besides that).
Launcher for Super Senses, AR for Predator Instinct, handcannon for Blood and Iron, SMG for Explosive Life, and a Scout or Sniper Rifle for Demonic Modification.
I think you should clarify the crit part.. Sure, the line of dimension damage functions off of skill crit, but that main bullet damage absolutely inherits gun crit stats and I don't understand how any kind of testing you could do could ever lead you to a different conclusion. Literally, just sit there and shoot bullets and average the data pool on different weapons while shooting the same enemies.
What im saying is that the SKILL damage does not inherit the guns crit. The top damage is literally just your guns damage and its crit. The actual flat damage increase has nothing to do with your guns crit tho and is independent of it.
so what would do more damage to bosses? full built crit thundercage or full built weakpoint python?

what was the mis information because every gley video i have seen has more or less built based on your weapons dmg output + a massacure skill power dmg on top
Basically you are using your statstick still but without its ultimate perks and instead with each bullet you are firing 1 gley skill projectile which is based on her skill power as stated in her 4th ability, so you will still do more damage if you fully build your python with weak point damage as the base weapon portion of damage will still be increased with those mods.
I've just tested - and the element does port over to massacre! Pretty sure the crit hit damage ports over too because I can see higher crits.
The crit hit is your guns crit. not the massacres, the massacre number is not affected by the crit of your gun. I was trying to get across that the 2 damage numbers are 1. your exact gun minus its ultimate ability, and 2. massacres damage, they are independent of each other.
@@Gamesager sorry I probably misunderstood. I thought you were saying that only the weapon attack and weapon fire rate were used by massacre. In my brief testing deffo the wep element was used by massacre and most probably crit and crit dmg. The way you explained it now, it finally makes sense in my head :)) I was tempted to build python but nah..I'll stick to my thunder cage which is maxed out and has better crit rate even thought slower fire rate.
A nice informative video, when I first read about Gley, I really wanted to do a hand cannon massacre build, and of course as soon as I got my weapon built and tested, I noticed the non scaling flat damage, I really wish Massacre scaled off weapon damage, even if it was just a little bit to give it some more build diversity.
It really should scale on weapon damage. She’s pigeon holed so hard right now. Just make the fastest rof the lowest damage it does and scale it up for the slower weapons.

3:57 half true half wrong because massacre do 2 instances of damage (-1 equal to your weapon damage -2 equal to your skill power X skill power modifier while frenzied) the one from your weapon is effected by your weapon crit chance and crit mods on the weapon equiped its also benefit from enzo crit, the one from you skill power is effected by skill crit chance and benefit from from luna crit

@VashTheStampede117 you can easily test that in non-frenzied state since it wont deal the "additional damage" which is the skill part, btw i posted a vid shows exactly that looks like it got removed by the creator
I think that I didnt voclaize this well enough. when I say massacre im talking about the damage massacre adds, since thru the context of the video I assume by this point you know the top damage is your guns damage, so the top number is your guns crit chance and damage, and when I refer to the massacre damage i am referring to the added damage from it.

@@Gamesager I get ya, Safe Recovery is pretty good for mobs and you can always replace that X with walk a tight rope or any DMG amplifier for boss.

Well no, it still helps. Consider that 2 seconds faster at 15 seconds is like 10% faster

When you and others are saying skill power for massacre weapon are you talking about the actual ability skill number you see on your reactor or the skill power multiplier you see when hovering over the ability ? These are drastically different numbers . I have your build and enjoy it a bunch but my skill power on massacre is over 25k but the multiplier is 48.9 .

I don't know what you mean about the misinformation, I've looked up every gley build and everybody just uses the sniper rifle that has I think it's a 1.7 times weak point and a 2.2 times critical, with everything built properly you can hit 41 million damage in one shot

You don't seem to understand. Python's unique ability does not work when you use Massacre. That's why I have been using Enduring Legacy
I do understand that. It’s not the ability that makes it good, it’s the fire rate and the fact it has gold reactors. Without gold reactors then blue blood would be the best smg for Gley

Mental Focus is better on Gley. You lose SPS every time you re-use your 3 skill for infinite ammo
Don’t let this video confuse you, your weapons damage will directly impact your massacre damage. I understand what you’re trying to say here but you kinda explain it poorly. Your guns damage won’t affect the “skill” damage of massacre but will impact the firearm damage potion A LOT. SO, overall damage goes way up the more dps your gun has.
Hi there! If you put, let's say "electric enhancement" On your stat stick gun, will a portion of your massacre gun do electric damage, or is it irrelevant ? 🤔
@@TylR3gor I would assume (without doing testing) that yes the FIREARM potion of massacre’s damage would inherit the electric damage from that mod. Since there’s 2 part of massacre’s total damage. The FIREARM part and the SKILL damage part.

Beginners question: I followed your build with mass sang but somehow cant get my 4th skill to stay on everytime I spam my 3rd skill for infinite ammo to go with it. I just happens once then the icon just turns blue and ill have to reangage my 2nd ability to proc my 4th again. In this video its pretty clear you arent doing that - the 4th skill just stays on everytime you hit your 3rd skill. DId i miss anything
You need your cooldown number to be lower than your duration number
How are you getting your 3rd to cool down so quickly? I've followed your builds and almost maxed it but my 3rd still doesn't cool down quick enough to spam massacre

So many ppl say Thundercage is better than Python (for Gley’s Massacre) I just don’t see how bc of this video. Do you think you could put that to a test?
It’s situational. Because when you start hitting boss enrage capsules, the skill damage no longer counts. So Thundercage becomes better, and Thundercage is better for mobbing and is better on other characters. Pythons situationally better but they are comparable because Thundercage does way more of its damage from the gun itself

The Massacre copy always seemed odd to me in terms of what it does and doesn't inherit.

So you are saying if my gun has a 100% crit hit chance, and i switch to massacre, it wont crit every hit? But my regular gun will?
You will still hit 100% crits but the skill damage itself will not.
Umm i need farming help. U seem t have alot of game knowledge so i gotta ask. Im searching for a place to farm non set hp support components. Im going for max hp on primary and secondary. Is there any area or mission i can farm that might have a higher chance of dropping the gear i want?

Her crit chace is weird but it's not a 5%.
With sniper withZ on I have around 30% but my sniper has 60%crit
enemies have firearm crit resist and skill crit resist. The actual skill damage number will have 5% crit, teh weapon damage number may crit differently depending on the enemies crit resistance.
How do you activate her 4 without any meter? A mod?
You have to use Gleys Special Mod

Anyone else feel like the true best reactor for Gley would be duration up and skill atk vs colossus instead of cooldown reduction and skill atk vs colossus? Wouldn't a longer duration on her 4 let me shoot more shots before having to pop her 3 again which you have to factor in the animation time?
its because they are percentages on base. So since the duration is only 5 seconds, you only add .5 seconds to duration. But since the cooldown is 40, you shave off 3 seconds from the cooldown. You can get 10 seconds and 10 seconds but you need a god roll reactor of gold on both i think, and you may need to use the duration mod that lowers your damage too for that.
I thought so at first but that requires you to manually determine when to press 3 again. Imagine letting loose on Massacre but you're eye-ing your buff duration on screen, while dodging and stuff. Usually most players just spam 3 after a set duration so it's used right off cooldown. So for simplicity and convenience it's best if you have both duration and cooldown lineup, by pushing both stats as high as possible, as on par as possible without reducing SP/SP Modifiers.
However, this doesn't apply to her Gun build. Gun build, duration is a lot better esp if using Predator Instinct since you no longer have Massive Sanguification, you want to reduce the number of times you use your 3 so your HP doesn't suffer. But the idea of lining up both Duration + Cooldown stays.

U need cool down reduction in your reactor and everywhere u can on mods (mp conv., nimble fingers, focus on non att., focus on sing.) to be able to chain third a ability and keep mental focus up.

Nono, massacre IS your gun. Without its ultimate abiiity. And then adds a flat damage number per a bullet that only cares about your skill power stuff

One question, there are times where i activate gley's massacre and i hold down to auto fire but it single fires. I am on frenzied state cause it does damage. Anyone know why this happens
How are you getting your massacre skill to last for so long? Mine only lasts 4 seconds. I've got the annihilation components equipped and my skull duration is at 20.5%

Think of the ult as adding a flat damage number to your gun of nonattribute. The same way adding electric to your gun works, except it’s not based on the guns stats, it’s based on gleys skill power. The only difference is it removes the guns ultimate perk but it’s basically just the same exact gun you have equipped and its mods. It breaks on shotguns and tacticals tho because if the bullets per a shot. The guns crit rate carry’s to the damage of the main shot, but it doesn’t affect the crit of the skill damage tho.
@@Gamesager When you say the "crit rate carries to the damage of the main shot" Does that mean that it factors into the crit chance of that shot?
So how it works is, you fire a shot. It does the damage from your equipped modded weapon, which crits based on the weapons crit rate and damage.
Then after that, it applies a flat damage bonus depending on your skill power, and the crit rate of that added damage is based on Gley's crit rate.
Did I get the gist of it?
Yeah. Like imagine you’re shooting 2 bullets simultaneously. 1 is your weapon, and its stats and its crit, 1 is your skill and is its stats and its crit. Just now the weapon doesn’t have its ultimate perk.

no not at all, still build your python but if youre doing massacre gley, skill damage comes first.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe massive sanguification does more then it description says. One of them being granting 3 life orbs when using gleys AOE ability.

You have to be "Holding" a weapon prior to using it before using massacre. Say you're holding a vestige launcher and use massacre it will shoot once and not fast such as a thunder cage

Hi, I see in the clip that you are able to keep your 4th ability while being able to loop the 3rd one. I tried doing this, but it does not work I just my 4th ability, try to use my 3rd one but as soon as my 3rd ability stops my 4th one disappear.. :/

You NEED skill CD on your reactor. You can get away with just the blue tier if you have the right amount of skill CD on you mods.
your 4th ability only has 3-10 bullets, you have to make sure you don't shoot those when your 3rd ability runs out until you can cast your 3rd again

Not realy, if you try to build for skill crit, you have to sacrifice skill power or skill cooldown/duration mods which means massacre doesn't really work anymore.

It does for the gun damage. But fire rate is king. You should definitely still upgrade the gun because it’s 2 numbers. It’s just adding an extra flat damage onto the guns main damage but it doesn’t replace or change the guns damage
@Gamesager I know for gun damage sorry I worded it wrong I meant for gleys ability. So only fire rate matters for her ability not the actual modules or gun attributes

You can increase it thru skill power and the descendant tree but you can’t thru the weapon

Per a shot, kind of, but not over a long period of time because you wont have infinite uptime without also taking the mod that reduces your damage for duration.
And blue blood does 20% less damage per a shot as well, but doesnt shoot 20% faster, so I dont think it would. Its just going to be better if you have a perfect purple reactor and dont have a perfrect python reactor. since a purple of any gun works but for python you need a python reactor.
Why then, when I use a base Python vs a fully catalyzed Thunder Cage do I get higher "orange" numbers from the Thunder Cage? And its not even close, like 240k orange on TC to 150k orange on Python? Using same descendant build, and a reactor matched for each gun?
Because thundercage does way more damage per a shot than python. IT IS your weapons damage and then the flat number. Think of your thundercage as doing 200k + 40k at 666 RPM,. And your python doing 50k +40k at 900 rpm.. But obviously I just made those numbers up. Massacre is your guns damage + flat nonattribute damage. but the gun damage doesnt affect the new flat nonattribute damage.
So, does this mean we can build her like a lepic? Since her ult scales off skill crit hit
Lepic has way way higher base crit so crit mods buff his damage substantially more. IF you buffed gleys crit, you can fit 3 mods at max with infinite duration. and it would boost her damage output by around 30-50% I think but I am not super good with that math.

Mental focus is better unless you lose mental focus I am pretty sure. SO in a prolongued battle if you keep losing it, then it woud have been better to have sps, but if you can keep it up, mental focus is better.
@@Gamesager mental focus does better for a burst type of weapon + lower fire rate... cuz you cant utilise the % in fire rate in sps....however in faster fire rate weapon like phyton and tc , sps is supreme because the base fire rate is high for those weapon....keeping the stack isnt an issue in a perma unlimited reload gley build
@@lov.2.g you can’t keep the sps stack. It ends the second you let go of the trigger. You can keep the mental focus stack.
@@Gamesager i mean you basically can shoot continously till you press your 3rd skill again but the fire rate and firearm bonus together definitely make up for it because you get your stack faster then mental focus.....tbh just think about it.....which made sense,150 stacks or 10 stacks for maximum output ....and to make it even better the 10 stack also increase you fire rate gradually .....i mean your getting higher dps from burst too from mental focus since its firearm but 10 stacks and increasing your fire rate with firearm ....bruh...makes no sense to use a mental focus on an smg which has high fire rate already ....you could but its just proving that you can keep 150 stacks but how fast can you attain that 150 stack...thats the question
@@Gamesager but tbh in my electro build tc i do prefer having sweeping or mental focus because the star slot i put fire rate so yea in a way it gives more option to my tc for multiple element ...since i use 4 gold stats ( firearm chd chc toxic ) , i have 3 other elements to make it like a variety for elements and just interchange between mental focus sps sweeping

I have a question. i dont know what im doing wrong, but when i go into the training room i shoot with my python and i do 24k damage per shot and when i use her 4 i get absolutely no damage bonus what so ever. What do i need to fix? Because at this rate its just better to use the infinite rocket launcher on her for me
