I remember in 1972 a friend offered to make a tape of the best bread songs for me. There were 30 and not a bad one among them.

One of the best! What I love the most about Bread is that they are clean; I do not mean that they are G rated, I mean the music, the lyrics, the presentation is as clean as a spring morning. So many good memories, and yes, I am so old, I remember hearing all of their songs as they were released on AM radio. Then I learned to play them on my guitar. Damn, things were so much simpler in the early 70s.

My favorite song bread ever did. Jimmy Griffin on lead vocals... So glad when I was a teenager a friend of mine allowed me to walk away with his mother's bread's greatest hits album... I didn't care that some people considered it to be pansy music I just love great song writing great production values, etc.

This is absolutely one of my favorite Bread songs. I love Jimmy Griffin’s lead vocals & acoustic guitar combined with David Gates beautiful back up vocals . I agree with you that the first half of the song the guy is just destroyed after a breakup and then the second half he’s angry about what she did. Great reaction!❤

One of my favorite Bread songs. Great selection Craig. Not one of their more famous big hits but a real beauty. It was written by James Griffen and Robb Royer , James was a great singer songwriter and had a marvelous voice. He was usually in the shadow of David Gates, but he was also a fantastic musician. I also love his song "You're the only one" RIP James. Great song Harri. 👍🔥😉🌏💟🕊️🙃

James Griffin had his own style of songs he wrote/performed with Bread. And he did great harmonies to David Gates' lead. Bread did a lot of fabulous uptempo numbers, including "Let Your Love Go," "Mother Freedom," "Down on My Knees," "Make It By Yourself," etc. Check that side of the group out. Brilliant musicians, arrangers, and songwriters.

You mentioned a couple of my favorites...
MOTHER FREEDOM and DOWN ON MY KNEES!
I've been a 'rocker' by preference, but Bread wrote some of the most beautiful love songs. And when they were in their salad days, I was head over heels for the girl next door.

I have an older sister who loved listening to Bread in the '70s. As a young child living under the same roof, I absorbed many of these songs as if through osmosis. Happy you're working your way through their hits, as it's sure bringing back some long forgotten memories. This one has always been a particular favorite of mine.

I started junior high in '71 and graduated high school in '77. I'll put those seven years of music up against anyone elses. We slowed danced to Bread at school dances and later at Victory Dances after Friday night football games in high school. So cool to see the music of my time still as popular today with the younger generation and new fans just discovering it. Love the Bread requests!

Lots of Bread reactions this month...anyone fancy some toast?...lol Seriously though this is a great request Craig. The brilliant vocals of David Gates shines again in this beautiful track. Thanks for the reaction on this Harri. Glad you're enjoying a group that was overlooked and underappreciated! Bread had its loyal fan base back in the day, but they never got big.

Please react "Remember When" by Color me Badd. Color me Badd was a RNB/Soul boyband that formed in 1985. They were awarded as the "Best R&B/Soul group" back in the early 90s. "Remember Me" was their last song produced before they were disbanded in 1998. They're one of the most underrated boyband but one of the greatest!

Hi Harri, I notice that you haven't done any Talk Talk yet. One of the greatest bands that this country has produced, and believe me when i say that this is no hyperbole! Starting out in the early '80s, they were marketed as a Duran Duran kind of band, and although their debut album was riven with synths, there was something more intelligent lurking behind the haunting voice of Mark Hollis. In '84, they brought in Produced Tim Friese-Green has a permanent member of the group. The second album was still predominantly synth based, but with an extended roster and the arrival of ethnic percussion, their live shows took on an organic feel, slowly leaving behind the cold limitations of their synth beginnings. 'The Colour Of Spring', their '86 release was when the true Talk Talk were born, and what an album it was. Eight tracks of remarkable beauty, with two songs pointing the way to something truly transcendent, the album was a big success, allowing EMI to grant them a decent budget to produce what they thought would be 'The Colour Of Spring (part 2)! What they received two years later was an uncategorizable blend of minimal jazz, with influences ranging from the milder work of Miles Davis, to the classical tropes of Satie and Debussy, all contained within a Post Rock atmosphere. To cut this short, they ventured further out with 91s 'Laughing Stock', an,,d then called it a day! Seven years later, mainman Mark Hollis released a self titled debut album and then removed himself from the music industry to be a better father to his two children. Talk Talk had taken on the might of the capitalist music industry, and come out the other end as heroes to many bands (hello Radiohead), who to this day don't quite have the balls to emulate Talk Talk's achievements. Now you know of this incredible band, and you decide to play them for your audience, i strongly recommend you begin with 'The Colour Of Spring' before moving on to the indescribable atmospheres of their final two epics. It's in your hands Harri, but to bypass this miracle in sound would be to misread the signposts and end up missing out on something we don't get anymore! Cheers and beautiful music.
