A try-hard is someone who puts winning over learning. Despite being called "ranked", online street fighter is not actually that serious, and most players use it to test their skills rather than prove their skills.
Alfaris I think the ryu was good tho. He parried after his sweep cause he didn’t know if it will connect or not and parry if smug punishes. It’s pretty smart lol, and in my noob eyes, it’s quite shocking. Maybe I haven’t watched enough ryu ranked matches but it was interesting to see such fast ryu, especially for his rank I would mistake him for justfog or the other top ryus lol. I think had I been even close to be as good as that ryu I would be frantic and excited as well to have gone against such a high ranked player like smug hahha

You know what I’d like to see? Every so often a video in which you analyze a past competition match, talk about: what might’ve been going on before/after the match, what your thoughts might’ve been during the match, and maybe how you might handle things differently now.

Brad Astrike as a ryu player , he is indeed a underrated player. What that guy was doing was weird yet effective. Throwing out those low roundhouses and standing fierce’s mixed in with parrys was for his timing and insurance for the rushdown. Very interesting

@@Lovlee33161 The issue is that he can just throw that shit out for free. Like the man's only recovery time is during the actual animation before the hit because Ryu got no real recovery frames. In fact almost all three shotos got the same dumb shit, only Akuma can combo into much more easily along with taking them to the corner within 2 grabs. Actually out of him and Ryu, I've seen Ryu's standing lk have more use than anyone else because of how far it reaches and the fact that its fast enough to catch the last hit of his overhead if it connects. That shit is wild man.
@Yodafire Boel it's not about tiers, it's the matchup. The insurance fierce/parry made it nigh impossible to get in when mixed in with that high input rate. He was better and knew well what he was doing
