    Great stuff. Very thoughtful and I think more collectors (of vintage, or even modern models) should be watching this more often. Thanks for all the good content

    DR. Omega, Absolutely rocked this out of the park. You do a excellent job explaining, but the pictures put everything perfect perspective..

      @@TimelessHistoryChannel Can you make a video on how to properly set a vintage watch that doesn't have a second hand, only an hour and minute hand with no date-set. I am struggling to find any videos on how to properly set it.

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Craig91214 Hi, I am a bit confused. Are you trying to set it exactly to the time you see on your phone? You cannot really do that with a mechanical watch. But with a quartz watch you can do it by estimate. Or you can try setting the time to exactly 12 o'clock, but leave the crown pulled out. When the time on your phone turns 12 noon, press the crown flush into the case immediately.

      @@TimelessHistoryChannel Thank you for the swift reply! Yes, I am trying to set it to the time on my phone...at least the minute and hour hand. It's the exact watch on this video (th-cam.com/video/_Jq1W6y_tRk/w-d-xo.html) at the 1 minute mark. Is the way he's setting the time the correct way to do it?

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Craig91214 You're welcome. You mean when he counter clock turns the hands? There is no issue with doing that as long as your watch has been properly lubricated.

    Does the 565 have this problem?

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty much all vintage Omega automatic will have some sort of worn axle issue if the watch is regularly worn without proper care. But only the calibers in this video that I've mentioned will have this difficult issue to fix. Caliber 565 is an easy fix.

    My Seamaster (the serial dates it to around 1961) has a 552 movement with this exact problem. I can't complain because I found the watch in a junk lot on eBay that I paid $50 buck for that had other useful items as well so I basically got it for free. The crown was missing and the crystal was not an Omega part so I bought both of them and installed them. It runs good even though I have not serviced it. I never wear it because it is much to small for my 8 1/4 inch wrist.

    Hello new subscriber here. I have a question to your knowledge do Seamasters with the cal 562 movement not have the ability to be wound with the crown? I just purchased one and I can only pull the crown out once to adjust the time. There is no winding when I have the crown pushed fully closed as one would expect. Thanks

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and thank you! Caliber 562, like any other Omega caliber can be wind manually. I believe the winding wheel is missing inside your watch.

    Pardon me if you have already covered this question. I recently purchased a vintage 1970s omega Geneva 613 movement. How often should I have it serviced?. Provided that it has nothing majorly wrong how much should servicing cost. Thank you

    • @TimelessHistoryChannel
      @TimelessHistoryChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Regular service is normally between 3-5 years. I am not sure how much a watch service cost. But my clients only pays $100 each time for the watches that they have purchased from my site.
