I would definitely be interested in buying this cause it looks hella dope and has lots of neat and thoughtful features. That said, a subscription model is a big fat NOPE from me. I don't care of it's the dopest synth on the planet. Subscriptions are bogus.
Looks really cool. I see this is as a direct competitor to Phaseplant, with a few edges in its favor. But as many people here are pointing out, the subscription-only model is going to receive some backlash. Kiloheart's rent-reward model is a smart alternative that I think Minimal should consider adopting.
Wow. I got so hyped on this until I saw that its subscription only. Sorry but that's a horrible move on Minimal Audio's part. The only explanation I can think of is greed. At least give us a perpetual license after 10 months or something. If there's a demo ill try it out but I can't support a subscription model.
@@MinimalAudio thank you so much! I purchased a copy of it as soon as I saw the relaunch with the updated pricing. I first found your company through rift and I’m excited to see what I can create with current.
Been waiting for a synth from Minimal Audio, I was heartbroken when I found out it was a subscription plan... I won't be getting this :( if only they had also given a perpetual license option too 😭
Let me get this straight. So the only way to get this is to get into a Subscription? Too bad cause it sounds cool but Subscription .... I prefer not to
I know a lot or most the comments have said but it really sucks that this is a subscription. If you want to make a "serum killer" then make it purchasable like serum. it looks and sounds really sick tho
Nice synth. People are only willing to pay a subscription when there is a recurring pool of content (Slice, Loopcloud, etc.) The subscription model doesn’t work for soft synths. The market is far too saturated.
I haven't purchased a synth until serum came out. It was worth the money for the years I used it and built the foundation of synthesis for me. After seeing the trailer for current, I immediately paid the $15/mo. I don't ever buy plugins, because I've got hundreds, but current is so next level, it's worth every penny. This is the future of sound design. It brought back my inspiration to work on new styles. The granular engine is something I never cared for, until I used current. It's fantastic. Biggest breakthrough in soft synths, since serum imo.
🔥🔥does the perpetual license mean Current can be bought with a one time only fee? 🔥🔥 just seeking some clarification, I don’t do anything subscription based. Thanks in advance
Great sound design ideas as always, but I rather subscribe to TH-cam Premium than to a plugin. That's means never in case you're wondering that weird analogy.
@Official AHEE Can you please do a video guide to audio files mp3, flac (compressed) vs wav (uncompressed), as well as sample rate and bitrate. Also with what is needed for a big stage library (just incase you need to play a festival) vs what you can get away with at a club vs home party generic PA speakers. This info would be very helpful cause I am finding this topic is discussed at crazy audiophile lengths.
Rent to own is cool but not sub only. At the very least make it affordable/cheaper if its sub only. You can rent to own an entire daw for 15 a month. Also you are telling producers they will never not have to pay monthly for their hobby. Which is somewhat cruel. Imagine if every single bit of software was sub only?
super freakin' dope synth!! I am loving it as all minimal products, one tiny thing that bothers me is that in the fx section there is an empty node, I am not sure if that was intentional, but I wish it was an actual effect instead. I am sure it is just a first-release thing and will likely get replaced soon with maybe a flanger or something
I am SO IN on this synth but unfortunately, due to my values, i am SO OUT on subscription models. It's a shame they took this route, hopefully they change their mind.
subscription plans are destroying everything, F that. Not even considering, nobody should ! In the end We will end up with how many subscriptions a month to keep shit running ?
Went to the website to go buy it, stopped because it's subscription only. $199 would be a reasonable price for a good synth plugin... paying every month forever just isn't. No disrespect.
@@MinimalAudio y'all will bounce back from this, don't worry. The synth is dope. The old pricing options weren't, but we're past that now. Best of luck and keep up the hard work.
Nice synth. I'm not afraid of a subscription service, as I feel like this is the future we all contributed to. Unfortunately, the sounds were not that far off from what is achievable on many modern synths, including freeware devices.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'this is the future we all contributed to'. It's VERY clear that the majority of people do not want, and will not support a subscription only, no synth will be worth what you pay in 2-3 years. Nobody should be supporting such greedy/parasitic attempts, and the more people that do, the more companies will try it on and gouge and prey on the consumer, and it will hurt us all with no way of going back. A company like Adobe can get away with subscription only for their products, because their products are the industry standard, and they have no competition at their level. Thankfully, we have an abundance of synths to choose from with very fair pricing/even free, and some that IMO easily beat this synth in terms of features without the disgusting anti-consumer practices.
It does make perfect sense, when pretty much every hobbyist musician has a couple cracked versions of various types of software. There are also a myriad of open-source or freeware alternatives to pretty much any Adobe product.
@@danieklerr none of those points shows how we all contributed to the problem. Explain in detail how those follow. Besides, I'm no crack expert but isn't this synth also going to get cracked no matter how you get your hands on it? If so, then what does that have to do with it being subscription only? I imagine many companies get their plugins cracked and the fact that they're still in business yet clearly shows that the key is appeasment by offering attractive features, not strongarming by making it subscription exclusive.
@@krta1773 .. Every software can be cracked. If a software is subscription-based, and hosted remotely, it becomes far more difficult to pirate.
