Y'all, you will be fine! Don't stress about your tryout. I recently tried out for a national team where only 6 people get on a team out of like 150 people there and I made it! I've only been playing volleyball for about 5 months and some people there have been playing for years. I didn't think I would make it at all. But I did! This shows that anything is possible. hey im a sophomore so i decided to drop in to give my lil 2 piece:) my advice is to make an impression !! you can do this by being loud on the court, hustling, encouraging others on & off the court, & talking to the coaches. while skill is considered in tryouts, your character makes all the difference ! go out there & have fun. try not to let your jitters get to you. focus on the play at hand & youll be just fine

@@nashiyamorant4219 on what to wear, here are some tips: 1) current club shirt if you have it 2) dont wear a tank top 3) bright colors are good to be noticable amongst everyone 4) you can wear a headband for everyday of the tryout so the coach can think "oh theres that headband girl again.." 5) minimal jewelry. earrings are fine, but nothing dangling. as for necklaces, safe to just not wear at tryouts to be safe what to bring: 1) good sized water bottle. you dont want to waste time refilling your jug 2) electrolyte drink(s) in your bag *helps refuel your body, v important‼* 3) extra pins, marker, & note in case your tag falls off. typically the coaches will supply these, but i experienced an accident at my freshmen tryouts so best to be careful 4) quick snacks (ex: granola bars). youll probably only have a second to take a bite so make it quick 5) whatever else you like to bring in your volleyball bag

I struggle with everything that's not receiving and this really helped, to think of the serving stance as a bow an arrow really clearled things up because I love archery, and I couldn't set for the death of me
I learned that you dont have to be the best to get onto a team. You have to care to show you are willing to commit and imrove. Just because you are good doesn't always mean you are automatically an asset to a team.
I’m a freshman but go to a very small school, like 90 kids in the whole high school, but our volleyball program has been in the top three every year. This years seniors specifically are a super tight group that have worked super hard for the past three years to hopefully win the title this year. The whole summer I came to every practice and now I’m starting right side/middle for varsity and setter/middle/outside for JV! It’s been great and a hugeee tip is to just show up to practice. There was another girl who many expected to get the last varsity spot but she didn’t come to summer practices for the last month and now has Covid from all her travels. It had helped me bond with everyone and improve to the point of starting varsity in a veryyy competitive program!

I got into the first cut but the last day of tryouts i wasn’t playing well at all, idk what it was maybe bc i wss so nervous and thinking about how other people were doing and not myself. Anyways, I’m now the manager of the volleyball team and i still wish that i could be playing on the court with the other girls, but, I’m going to tryout again next year and hopefully i’ll be on the court with them.

honestly just go for it, the worst thing that can happen is that you don’t make the team and you have time to practice and learn to be a better and stronger player for next year :)
I have never played v ball , but ALL of my siblings have played sports like this and so I am trying out in a few weeks and I have not practiced and I do not even have a ball but I practice the positions and I am gonna go get my ball and shoes to play so yeah lol , her videos help a lot! when i started playing volleyball about like, 5 years ago, the coaches would tell me to act like you were holding a bucket of water, and then pouring it over your head, and it seriously did help me, and its a pretty good analogy

Listen to hype music while you practice! A good hype song is start a riot.
How about blocking out the tryouts, don't even think about when you practice. Just focus on the ball.

try out! you’ll still learn a lot from the try outs alone even if you don’t make it to the team, u can always try out next year or next semester
go to the open gyms for ur school if they have them our school has them for three months and two week conditioning period
honestly just go for it, the worst thing that can happen is that you don’t make the team and you have time to practice and learn to be a better and stronger player for next year :)

Guys I just had my first and second day of tryouts and omg i was sooo nervous but it was sooo fun and I was surprisingly good! everyone was so nice and I just need to work on my overhand serve
