First heard this in 2012 and have loved Tycho Since. This is definitely the worlds most beautiful song and I always tell my girlfriend and family that this is what I want played at my funeral. 💙
Tycho is one of those artists that has me sitting here thinking all deep and philosophical. But if I were to try and explain these thoughts I'd probably sound mentally handicapped. Either way, favorited.
Everytime I listen this song I feel as if im in the city with my close friends driving around exploring the city with shining lights and entertainment all around us every corner we turn. Definitely a remarkable feeling...
So interesting the different things people imagine to music. When I hear this, it reminds me of two summers ago when me and my bro drove down Catanzaro Lido in Italy at like ten pm. Beautiful.
boards of canada doesnt feel human, theres not really any human emotion in it - its just cold like it came straight out of nature, thats what makes it amazing.
With a like ratio of 9,100/94 that means only about 1% of people dislike this. Literally 1 out of 100 people don't like this. That's an overwhelmingly positive review, I've never seen any music be so widely endorsed. Tycho has got some serious magic going on.
Absolutely beautiful and full of imagination. Personally I always imagine flying over Tokyo, then being in Tokyo looking above at the skyline and seeing the same plane flying over my head over the most colorful city I've never even seen yet with my own eyes...but hope to.
"It helps me remember... I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can't take it, and my heart is just going to cave in"
It's my first time listening to this song. I have listened to Awake millions of times. My god... Hours is quadtratic sound therapy. Star music. High as Snoop Dogg. So amazing!!!!!!
This lovely piece of music makes me think of being at some sort of outdoors dance party at night where most people have been partaking in herbal refreshments and/or mdma, but everyone surrounding is a blur, as I am dancing with someone special. I envision looking into her stunning eyes as she shakes her head and hair with the rhythm of the music. The 5 minutes and 44 seconds of this piece feels like eternity. Curious how music evokes imagery for you, it is called music for that reason, and this truly is music.
"Nostalgia is a common thread in my work," says Hansen, "but this album wasn't driven by that idea. I see these songs as artifacts from a future which might have more in common with our past than our present." i soo understands this
he means he uses electronicly generated sounds from programs off a computer and wen the product is done and is being listened too the listener gets a feel for the past or memories come about... kinda makes me reflect on my life
Dawn Wagner it just means, he was inspired to create and drive him into his future music production ideas...and now its all done, almost reliving childhood memories as if it was yesterday..
I was listening to Flying Lotus while doing my math homework and I let the auto play do it's job. It took me here. This is literally the best thing auto play has ever suggested me.
I first heard Tycho's music through an old friend's cheap mp3 player back in 2005, and loved it! The sad part was that my friend had no idea how it had got there, nor did he know who the artist was. So for years I spent days searching. After about 3 years, I discovered Tycho through his design blog at iso50 about 3 years ago. It was a day ill never forget. After all these years and this new record all i can say is that Tycho is an amazing artist and his music will forever be a part of my life!
Being lost in a forest at midnight, absolutely cold with nothing but darkness around you, full moon the only source of light. ❤️ Or a cold lonely park with benches, trees with rich moss and fallen leaves/branches and dim lamp posts.
I took 3 hits of acid last night and as I was peeking this song really touched my soul my heart and my spirit unchain your mind don't be scared to be different just let go of what you are afraid of your fears close your eyes and let the music do its magic drop acid not bombs
Done it many times, past is prologue is pretty amazing too. PBS is a mindbender for sure. Tycho while tripping brings back childhood memories that are stored in the deepest recesses of my mind.
yesterday a whole bunch of my friends came over. every time they do, we always like to share music and talk like always at midnight. when it was my turn to share a song, I put this song and i started talking about it. then everyone went quite and started listening i was surprised that all my friends liked this music because most of them dont listen to this kind of music they wanted to know who the artist was over and over. Buying the delux vinyl didnt disappoint. Tycho doesnt disappoint.
Me and my friends have been listening to Tycho for years, although we argued how to pronounce the band's name. does anyone know how? I feel like it's "TIE CO"
I somehow ended up at a friend of a friends house a few years ago full of medical marijuana patients on a block in downtown L.A. So I was the only one who didn't do it, I had said no in social situations before and said no here, but the Lord told me to do it this time. So I hadn't for a really really long time and I did. AFTER THAT, people were so cool with me, then they talked about GOD first, I brought it up, when I said what God had done in Jesus for me they were in awe.

My mind doesn't need to be altered to grasp what I consider good music. Just enjoy yourself and the peaceful sounds being absorbed. Reflect and enjoy this short time we have on Earth.
youtube surfing...it has been a very good time finding these very cool post rock or atmospheric bands...could listen to Tycho all day, all night...GROOVIN, PEACEFUL-DELICA
this rocked my world years ago and still does. can't even put a finger on the breadth of emotion this song evokes. also Tycho's sound design is unreal
Heard this song back in 2010 and fell in love with it, it’s been 11 years and I’m still in love
Fuck yes. It's always so god damn good.
yup
heard it in '16, a bit late to the show
That’s me being 29 years old listening to this for the first time lol. Love it
This is definitely one of Tycho's best tracks.
totally
plus " dive "
Agree
🙏
The.
Best.
this song is one of the best songs i have heard in my whole life. no shit.
isn't it? Agreed my friend. Listen to this track for like 7 or 8 years on a regular basis...crazy how it just flows...
Yea
@Jay Bee a
It's been seven years, has anything passed this?
@@HavokVersusEverything I've been listening since it came out and only love it more with time
This is literally the best song he ever made.
People who listen to Tycho are the coolest ever!
First heard this in 2012 and have loved Tycho Since. This is definitely the worlds most beautiful song and I always tell my girlfriend and family that this is what I want played at my funeral. 💙
Tycho, you are part of the soundtrack to my life. Thank you
Same here mate.
"Dive" what an album... Simply amazing
This is the most amazing artist to take a trip to outer space with, I can't live without Tycho in my own mind.
This is my favorite song right now. It just makes me feel so good...
Tycho is one of those artists that has me sitting here thinking all deep and philosophical. But if I were to try and explain these thoughts I'd probably sound mentally handicapped.
Either way, favorited.
30 seconds into this song and I'm already getting the ol' spine chills. Lovin' it!
So peaceful and dreamy 💙
An ex introduced me to Tycho in 2011, and I still have his music on rotation. Very centering.
Beautiful.
ME TOO
My girlfriend and I are sitting on my car on top of the hill that overlooks the town I live in and we watch the stars

Thankyou for helping find the strength when I didn't know I had it
I love how unique his music sounds. There's nothing like it.
More like a "pop" version of Boards of Canada.
I like how IDM has changed over time.
Boards of Canada is boring, it's not even dark/depressing it's just flavorless.
boards of canada doesnt feel human, theres not really any human emotion in it - its just cold like it came straight out of nature, thats what makes it amazing.
actually boards of canada sounds a lot like it, but yah i like both different vibes from each.
this makes me miss washington state, the mountains, drives with my young family...nostalgia all around. so much pain, so much love
i used to sleep with this on repeat 😁 this song is life.
were u sleeping for "hours" ;D ha ha ha...
i´m sorry...
Carlos Garcia Use to run Past Is Prologue and Dive on a repeated playlist and fall asleep to it. Good times.
This song would be in my dreams for "Hours". 😂
Same here! ❤

You have an amazing imagination, I really enjoyed reading your comment. It must be really nice to be able to "fly away" like that. :)
it's as awesome as you think srsly go there
Mark Hazleton Have you watched the movie "Enter The Void?" I think you would look at flying over Tokyo a bit differently afterwards.
Mark Hazleton las vegas is too :)
Try Las Vegas, Dubai and Kuala Lampur too.
oh man... i only first discovered this song a few months ago but i'm so nostalgic for it!
I can not get enough of this track! Reminds me of so many places i've been and also reminds me to never stop wondering what's on the horizon...
The mix of live bass with those synth tones is just luxurious and beautiful.. what a track.. transports you into the sunset.. soothing & relaxing.
Wow, nostalgia overload.
Ah... nearly 10 years later and I am back here again - almost for the same exact reasons. The wheel indeed turns mysteriously.
"It helps me remember... I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can't take it, and my heart is just going to cave in"
This right here made us want to live so we finally opened our eyes to all this madness we call reality. 👁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It had been a long time since a new song had made me shiver, but that one really got it!
Heard the bulk of Tycho's work. This, in my opinion, is his masterpiece.
One Of My Favorite Tycho Songs
Me and my mate used to repeat this tune when after we went out for hard parties. This was the best relax tune
It's my first time listening to this song. I have listened to Awake millions of times. My god... Hours is quadtratic sound therapy. Star music. High as Snoop Dogg. So amazing!!!!!!
Dive is honestly my favorite of his. Awake is good but it didn't hit me emotionally like Dive did as an album. So many memories to this music.
Search Home- Resonance.
Once in a while I accidently come across an amazing artist, right now is one of those times!
This lovely piece of music makes me think of being at some sort of outdoors dance party at night where most people have been partaking in herbal refreshments and/or mdma, but everyone surrounding is a blur, as I am dancing with someone special.

What a beaitiful image you just shared.
Thank you Mel and Joshua.
Sadly it is a fantasy. Who knows, perhaps one day we may all manifest our subjective fantasies.
I just imagined the same
I can totally agree with you
I get a great vibe from this.
I get chills at certain points in this song and I just enter complete bliss throughout. Instant-mood-lifter type song.
This is the culmination of all tycho songs imho
Memories, they.. just.. keep.. surfacing.
When i saw him perform with his entire live band it literally tore my spirit open like i was reborn. So euphoric
I listen to this song everyday. It means the world to me :)
yeah
this blows my mind away ..so synchronized ...an untouchable unique song

I congratulate this music writer, this is so amazing.
I really need to go to bed, but can't get enough of this artist!
Tunes from heaven.

This song gives me wings every single time I hear it. Love it!
Best Tycho track. As in it doesn't sound like a screensaver, and has a strong sense of progression, layers, and depth.
Absolutely Glorious! Excellent Album!
Yes ! You are correct ! You don't need it to be altered to grasp it ! Thank you for giving me some faith in humanity.
I love this song sooo much
Love how this total life vibe takes me on the most vibrant journeys into my mind.
Being lost in a forest at midnight, absolutely cold with nothing but darkness around you, full moon the only source of light. ❤️ Or a cold lonely park with benches, trees with rich moss and fallen leaves/branches and dim lamp posts.
Latched onto the waves that are ebbing and flowing in the fabric of time. Thank you, Tycho.

This songs fantastic, I don't see how anyone cannot enjoy music like this.

Just amazing. Love the use of modulation in the lead, rare to see it enhance the melody like that.
They took down the other video of this song...the one showcasing big waves and surfers in slow motion :( that was a great one... too bad.
Tycho gives me the feeling that I could be young forever.
When I forget an Idea, I listen to some music like this and it comes up with an even better one

This is for a smooth shuffle day
My life changed to his music. Saw him live for the first time last year. I can die now.
Perfect for snowboarding
This takes me down to that one time I stayed awake to see the sunrise at the beach , remarkable moment
Me and my friends have been listening to Tycho for years, although we argued how to pronounce the band's name. does anyone know how? I feel like it's "TIE CO"
You are right, "tie co" sounds correct.
@Los 7 Yeah, it is TIE CO, Scott itself said how it should be pronounced.
first time I ever heard this was while working for Sears back in 2013, still love this and Coastal Brake, check out Com Truise as well!
I'm flying through SPACE
Our very own Sacramento's finest!! Scott Hanson!!
Yeah no tycho is amazing
100% PURE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!!
I really like it because it's a refreshing break from all the dubstep and heavy crap on youtube, it's relaxing and just calms you down

This song got me out of depression. I love tycho.
This song makes me feel like I'm drifting through outer space....anyone else?
Lauren Stanford NOBECAUSE IF YOU WERE DRIFTING THROUGH SPACE YOUR BONES WOULD BE ROTTING AND YOU'D FUCKIN DIE
+Cyndasaur thanks for ruining the moment lol
Well if you think about we technically are floating through outer space... we’re on earth which is revolving around the sun and the sun is revolving around the center of our galaxy which is being drawn, by gravity, to our nearest neighbor galaxy Andromeda. So technically we are never in the same part of the universe ever. We are moving at thousands of miles per hour. The universe is a complex thing yet here we are communicating to each other using electricity and cognitive functions.
I listen to tycho when driving through the city. Could never ever live among soo many people, but this music makes me one with everyone there
Fills me with the nostalgia of long car trips as a child. Watching the fields, blue sky and clouds out the window
My mind doesn't need to be altered to grasp what I consider good music. Just enjoy yourself and the peaceful sounds being absorbed. Reflect and enjoy this short time we have on Earth.
