if you are not paying for the dress, then you shouldn't even try one double the budget . That's selfish, childish, and disrespectful towards the person that's paying for it. Unacceptable.

It's even more infuriating that couple of days back we had a clip with the same bride coming back to the store to buy a new dress, cause turned out she is pregnant and will be 7-8 months in on the wedding day, so she needed something flowy instead.
I don't want to be mean but I think when someone else pays for your dress you either get one that is in the budget or YOU pay the difference for it.
What she did is disrespectful.
To be fair a lot of engaged couples already have pooled finances. I still think she was selfish in this case because it affected her fiance's stag do, but the money could have easily come from a shared account.

Yeah, that’s a red flag, but he doesn’t really need to fly 6000 miles away to Sin City with his mates. It’s really easy to get whatever you want and whoever you want at a moments notice in Vegas. Not the way I’d want to start a marriage, with my fiancé out boozing with strippers and call girls.

The dress she picked is absolutely beautiful, elegant, timeless, and regal. But you cannot tell me that in that entire shop they don't have a single similar dress that's closer to her budget. Even if she had to compromise on the lace edging on the skirt or the beading, I highly doubt they don't have something suitable within (or very near to) her budget.

The psychology of this bride is fascinating. Big emphasis on modesty, conservatism, and church wedding when it comes to the dress/wedding. Yet ends up coming a second time, because she’s gonna be 8 months along at the wedding 💀.
Has no problem going 2x over the budget/cancelling other’s financial decisions when it’s not her money to spend, but makes sure to stick to it when it’s mom’s wallet. Ends up buying a 3rd diff dress anyway.
Clearly her mil doesn’t like her, and jimmy wants to do his bachelor party in Sin City… The amount of red flags they would be better off using some of the budget for therapy

.... Would have to agree. I thought the dress was an ugly hodgepodge of styles and extremely overpriced. Looked like an old fashioned Victorian era tablecloth. But if I was the groom and my much anticipated and desired trip was thrown out the window without any consultation even, I would be fuming. From what I am reading in the comments - she didn't even end up wearing it afterall. What an expensive mistake.

I think if canceling the stag party was in question it would be really bad. But most of the cost of the stag party is the travel and it seems just pointless. Go to Amsterdam if you want to be crazy or go somewhere like Rome or Barcelona of you want to see a great city. Travel within Europe doesn’t cost nearly as much and the guests would probably be happy too to save.
But it’s still not her decision. To me before marriage the money is separate enough that even if some decisions are made together you can’t spend his money like that.
Plot twist she and the crew knows that she is pregnant before purchasing this dress,that's why she go over budget dress (which she can cancel later) and for drama and views they made it into two episodes 😌🙃

It's very 50s in style, I have bought a similar one on ebay for £60 and it's just as beutiful, Id rather spend that money on home improvements or a luxury holiday than wear it for 8 hours. Can't believe a dress for one day could cost so much! I know some people don't like second hand but if there's a look your after you can usually find it elsewhere for a lower price and as some on else has suggested you can turn a simple dress into a more extravagent style by adding diamonte, sashes, bows and lace panels. I thought it was very irresponsible of her considering she wasn't even the one buying it. No Afore thought!
@Einzbernねこ there's a difference between boutique and cheaply made yes I know that but Im talking about vintage boutique dresses which are well made of quality materials the only difference ebeing they were made about 40 years ago. There's still Good quality and often some are brand new just they've never been worn. You have to shop around but you can find them. My vintage alfred angelo is beutifuly made but I like vintage styles so I had no Problem Finding one that I loved.
She could have bought the 2nd dress which was plain satin and customized with a lace jacket maybe even then it would've been in her budget.. it's really selfish to buy a dress that's so over budget when you're not the person paying the extra money for it! That dress is actually a very simple alteration. My friend had basically the same dress for $2000 including her veil and alterations. She found an inexpensive strapless white satin ball gown and had the lace bodice added to it. The only difference was she had 3/4 length sleeves, a full lace back, and a fancy jewel belt.
David literally pushed, like brainwashed her to buy that dress, a sweet kill i must say. Also how selfish is the bride, if not paying herself for the gown how can she decide it herself?

Yep I have to agree a bloody lot of money for a dress you will wear one time. I hired my dress, my husband wanted me to buy it, after the wedding. It cost $60 to hire & i got $30 of that back (security) we had 170 people at our wedding. Although I usually make wedding/engagement/ B'day cakes, I bought my own $40.00 I did all my own catering we has a smorgasbord for the reception, i was doing finishing touches to food while in my wedding dress, waiting for the w/car to pick me up. So on a wild guess I think $600 for Dress, Vail & bouquet. cake, food, the church dressed the church. My inlaws paid for all the alcohol & there was massive amount of alcohol! It was a beautiful wedding & reception i couldn't fault it. But the marriage only lasted 15yrs.
But I think some people pay way too much for their wedding & that could have been a deposit for your first house.
I would never never go over the budget like this !

I tried on a dress that I fell in love with, wasn't really all that expensive in the grand scheme of things, but far more than I was comfortable with (think it was £1k back in 2008) - my mother was waving her credit card around in excitement but I refused to buy it because I didn't think a dress I was only wearing once should cost that much. I really can't get into the mindset of going "what the heck, it's my dream dress!"
(also - I know she didn't wear it... I've seen the photos of the wedding on facebook)

She was indecisive because she actually wanted a pricier dress and wasn’t willing to compromise.
