That was amazing!!! I'm hoping to learn in the next six months. Your choice of songs just made the video even better. What alot of fun that looked. Good job on landing cross wind as well. Looked tricky!
My engine is a Rotax 462, the aircraft hands of speed is 50mph. Total flying time for the outward & return trip was just over 13 hours. We both wore immersion suits, life jackets and carried personal locator beacons for the Channel crossing. The GT450 managed to stay along side me for most of the trip, but we did get seperated on the return journey a couple of times. Brian found it a bit of a strugle to slow his aircraft down to 50mph as the GT450 is designed to cruise much faster.
This is awesome :) Just managed to remember your name I remembered the thermic but couldn't remember Phil! haha Hope you enjoyed the rest of holiday nice meeting you in Turkey (nutter on the lilo!) Spoo :)
What a fantastic journey. Will hopefully be starting lessons shortly. Just a little matter of money and weight. Not enough of one and more than enough of the other. I will let you decide which one!
I was a little nervous! A few months earlier I had done a complete engine overhaul in my garage at home. Midway across the English Channel I started to think, "did I put all the parts back in all the right places"?
So many questions, ive got a humble Alpha (Rotax 503) is that the same engine as in yours ? (with a hands off of about 55-60mph.) If so how long did it take you ? Did the GT450 just turn the trim down to stay with you ? Did you wear a life vest ? I ask as im still restricted, but as soon as i get my unrestricted i plan on doing this ?
Hi Sharrow How are you? Hope you had a good journey home. Glad you liked the video! This was the longest and most memorable trip I have ever done in my Microlight. I hope to fly to Lundy Island this year if the weather ever improves? I enjoyed the rest of the holiday, but the music constantly played around the pool area didn't get any better, I had enough of it by the end of the holiday. Are you off to Turkey again soon??? Best Wishes Phil

How long did that flight take in total mate?... Gosh I miss flying in the Air Cadets :(
The total flight time from Roddige to Abbeville was 5 Hours and 20 Minutes. The most tense part was the 30 Minutes over the English Channel.
STUPENDO! mi viene in mente il libro di higgins! RAF e LUFTWAFFE.. Harry Von Halder e'l sò fradè..
top stuff thanks ,did she in fact eat the milk tray ? ;-)
how long did it take once your feet wet at Dover ?
the flight from Bristol to France??
Must take some guts crossing the channel in a 2 stroke. Mind you, I've had two 912 failures to date!
It took about 30 minutes to cross the English Channel from Dover to Cap Gris-Nez.
Do you have a map of your route i can take a peak at ?
What is the song on 10minutes?
Evanescence - My Immortal

Tongue in cheek my friend, I'm a Scouser myself (private pilot and professional controller). No offence intended, just a bit of banter.
Yes! If you send me your E mail address I can send it as a PDF file!
must'v been nervracking over the channel
Oh C'mon. Wildly exaggerated music I can forgive but to interrupt it to hear a brummy RT call is unforgivable haha.
Just clicked unlike and like again as its a super video
