Every Time, I watch a video of you all, I get blessed. even through the screen, God's Holy Spirit comes to visit me when I'm watching the video's that you and Nancy post!. Such an inspiration you both are to a lot of people including me. I can see from the size of your HARVEST every year that God is truly working in this area of your lives in a truly abundant way. It was an honor knowing you two here before you left Virginia.! Be blessed. Jesus loves you. and Im praying for GOOD things for you all too.

When I can finally get my garden up and running I will make your style of tomato cage. I have some questions:
Do you also grow tomatillos for salsa?
Did you do (or will you be doing) a video on designing and installing your watering system?
Is your watering system inclusive of the entire garden, or are there separate setups depending on crops.
Is it hooked up to an above or below ground tank? How many gallons to feed a growth of tomatoes such as yours? What are the requirements for other veggies? You and Nancy inspire and uplift my husband and me. Thank you so much for your "Gardening Ministry"! Blessings and health to you and yours and to all who read this! 😄💖😇

Also, your videos bring me a lot of peace and they remind to stop and reflect on my own relationship with the Lord, which is always a good thing. Yes sir, yes sir, TOMATO SANDWICHES!!!! Taste best when you grow the tomatoes yourself! I love these awesome cages! I know what it's like to lose tomato plants to storms. I was once so upset about a main branch that snapped (but not quite all the way off), that I used electrical tape to "seal" it back together and extra tethers to its (inadequate) cage. Do you know that branch healed and continued to produce?!! That's not how I want to roll though. Your cages are the way I want to go.

Hi Hollis and Nancy I've been watching your great videos for a long time when you were up north. Now you've moved to Fl. and I need even more advice. I live in Florida also. I'm hoping you could come up with a video for when to plant seeds INDOORS so I could have a garden starting in the fall in Central Florida. I'm in zone 9 but can't seem to find any charts for INDOOR seed starting. Maybe you could help. We're glad you're here THANKS

In Florida I start all my seeds outdoors in my seed starting racks. With the warm nights I do t need to start them indoors for the fall. I start my fall seeds at the first of September and transplant the seedlings to the earth bed around the 2nd week of October. We will be releasing a mini-series on the seed starting area next month👍

Those look really great to help support your tomatoes. I have a quick question if you don't mind. We also live in Fl and are very curious what you do to get rid of and keep rid of caterpillars on tomato plants. My son-in-law is trying to grow a small garden and this little Caterpillar has taken over and has gotten in his veggies as well as all over the tomato plants. I suggested Neem oil to him but also told him to be scarce with it on his veggies because if too much it can burn the leaves up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. You and Nancy have got to be the best gardeners I have seen. I used to watch a lot of your older videos when y'all lived in Virginia. I believe that was where y'all were recently from, right. Y'all had some amazing gardens. I couldn't believe the abundance of food you would get from them.

Hollis & Nancy's Homestead well we did it, went to a local farm and picked up some of the best corn on da cob I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten a lot as I’m 75 years young. But had to go get da maters, a little more dan da grocery stores but the flavor jest don’t compare wid home growed so well worth da $3 a pound. Of course we had to get some green maters so da wife can make “Fried Green Maters” which is a staple here in Louisiana. Well we came home and had an ear of corn and a mater sammitch fer lunch wid plenty of black pepper and salt ta taste wid a lot of mayo. Ohhh to die for!!!!

i've been using concrete renforcing wire and bamboo for over 30 years and spacing of 8 feet , growing 12 -18 foot tall tomato plants many years and i always double anyone arounds tomato growth . i use chunked fish in the hole along with extra blood and bone meal to . i get 2lb + tomatos every year and rotate growing plots yearly even though i amend the soil with manure yearly also . my plants grow to a minumum of 8- 10 feet tall and grow many pounds of tomatos . i grow mortgage lifters , russian 117 orange oxhearts , cherokee purple , sudduths strain brandywines , grape and cherry tomatos . its a lot of work but well worth it . we give away tons of them , sell em at market and eat them .

Today I built two tomato cages out of recycled material. As you know, material here in Hawaii is expensive so I used metal fence posts and cut 2x4's in half for the cross pieces. I dropped a fish in each hole and covered them with Dolomite lime (agriculture mineral). Is it the same as garden lime?

    • @HollisNancysHomestead

Hi Hollis! Again another excellent and informative video as always. Now, besides this one you've talked about watering tomatoes in many other videos but my doubt remains, so my question is how many times are you watering your tomatoes in a week? It is daily or just a couple times in a week? This is regarding to your raised beds as well to containers. Could you please clarify me on that? I'm watering my tomatoes just 2 times a week, is this enough? Thanks
