Trains at Reading, GWML - 25/7/21

- Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Reading located on the Great Western Main Line where services are seen by Great Western Railway, CrossCountry, South Western Railway and TfL Rail.
Filming here at Reading again was brilliant! A lot has changed at this station over the years with the electrification being brought in and newer trains visiting. The station's overall character and feel has not changed though, albeit it's a modern take on what it used to be like but the newer version of Reading is the one I'm most familiar with. The session overall was full of variety and different services and trains; even for a Sunday it was fantastic! I of course will recommend visiting here, always!

Normaly Services From London Plymouth Penzance I believe are operated by 802's. Its rare to find any 800.
The 800’s just make me sad and think of the old HST’s

Great video Kieran im surprised you didn’t see any freight at reading as the last time I was there saw quite a bit of freight, interesting to see the new swr service reading to Salisbury.

Yep - Will be a while yet until all the Turbos are fully out of Reading and the area.
Normally Services From London To Plymouth & Penzance Are Operated By 802s. It's Very Rare To See Class 800s Operating Them

Great video Kieran!! Odd to see 159s there, are they a new service or something? Seeing 800s in Devon and Cornwall is now getting more common I dont know why, on the weekends I see them alot going to and from Cornwall! Answer to the question is c2c.
Thank you mate! The 159s are a newer service between Reading and Salisbury. Correct on c2c and yeah the 800s down in Devon/Cornwall is not good because of the gradients.
