    If I were making this video, I would mount my camera on a monopod. The monopod makes it easy and safe to put the camera close to dangerous machines.

    Powdercoat sucks, the slightest damage and water creeps under without anyone noticing until it falls off in sheets revealing pure rust and the part is so rotten it's scrap. It's only good in dry conditions.

    • @theonlybuzz1969
      @theonlybuzz1969 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Then all I can say is that who ever does your powder coating is rubbish at it. As a proper application of epoxy polyester powder can bond well to the properly prepped material.

    • @ernsailor9041
      @ernsailor9041 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@theonlybuzz1969 I don't do powder coat because of all the failed powder coats I've seen from lawnmowers, wheels to truck parts, they all fail. If you have a powder coater who has a plastic coating as hard of steel you're living in an alternative reality. Oh and it's got nothing to do with adhesion which is why I didn't say anything about adhesion, it fails when it's compressed or damaged because it's plastic.

    • @theonlybuzz1969
      @theonlybuzz1969 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I understand what you are saying but surely if a steel rim was sand / shot or vapour blasted first then zinc phosphate chemical treatment that chemically adheres the powder coating to the metal surface. I used to be a powder coater, and specialised in coating high abrasion products. I get about the scraping and crushing of the materials that the coating can come off. But that could happen to zinc plated products or galvanised products too.unless everything is made from stainless steel you’re always going to encounter problems. At the end of the day the customer dictates how much they want to spend on the product and how it looks, I’m just saying that’s all.

    • @ernsailor9041
      @ernsailor9041 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@theonlybuzz1969 To be honest I have no idea what they use underneath, I do know just a small crack lets moisture build up underneath and when you go to repair it the coating comes off in sheets, because it's a durable skin it stays on but lifted off the base allowing the moisture to be retained causing sever creep corrosion, ally wheels are the worst, Stainless steel won't corrode but it's not good for holding any paints, you have to use an epoxy primer as it's impervious to etch primers and given the slightest chance it'll push the paint off. Powder coat is a brilliant invention but like everything it has it's failings, if it never gets wet it could last indefinitely. A good example is school chairs they don't get wet and stay good ages even with impacts, on the other hand garden furniture is hopeless powder coated, looks great when new but doesn't last, powder coat is tough if you ever tried sand blasting powder coat garden furniture it's a mother fecker to get off where it's still on.
