Old man didn't have a body movement track on him the first game. he made the second game bc of Gihun's method. He shouted the minions to stop the mass murder thing bc he didn't expect it to happen. The chain in the tug-of-war rope didn't actually attached to him incase his team lost. He purposely "dead" in the marble game bc the next game literally depends on luck, he's not taking his chances. But even if he did, his cracky ass old bone won't survive the last squid game.
He should have taken the money from his daughter's stepfather. At least he would have saved his mother, and at least not seeing his daughter would be something outside of his control. But his mother died because he wanted to keep his promise to his daughter. And he left his daughter but it was of his own free will.
I love how the same people were shown throughout the series so we see consistent reactions. That was nice. I was loving some of these people's reactions.

Guys, if you don't know, there will be a season 2 and the detective will be back, there will be some new games and new players/actors, the creator of the movie announced that some of the players will be revived.
Ji-yeong and Sae-byeok had really depressing deaths but they were wonderful characters :'( Yup, I was just as shocked as these guys when Il-Nam was the mastermind behind all this. Screw him lol. Sang-Woo did what he needed to do to survive in the games. If Gi-Hun quit then no one gets the money...Sang ended his own life so his buddy can get all that money. Season 2 definitely gonna focus more on Gi-Hun, Front Man and his brother, the VIPs, and the Salesman in the train station. Wonder if there will be any new twists to the games as well or will the games be equally as emphasized as the first one?
But I am *really* confused by the people who think that he still should have gotten back into his daughter’s life right after finding out that an evil organization with a basically infinite amount of money was tracking his movements. Whether or not he fights them, going to her puts her in even more danger. Anything he can do to discourage them from using her as leverage is a good thing. Staying away from her is the best thing he does as a dad the whole season.
I had a completely different interpretation of the end. I thought that if he got on the plane, the squid gamers would blow it up. Like they knew he was a liability. So he turned back to "stay in the game."

The episode name "One Lucky Day" is a famous Korean short novel that was written in 1924 It is so famous every Koreans know because we have to read this novel in school during 'Korean class' but the thing about this novel is that it is a very tragic story of a man So the title doesn't match with the context, it's the irony hence the impact it gives the readers at the end So when Koreans saw the title of this episode everyone already knew this is going to be a sad, tragic episode, like any other episodes
