So slowly rebuilding a 1996 Ford Bronco with my 18 year old. Really like the links to the parts you are using. We are also building it to take on some adventures before he leaves for the Military next year. Working on brakes now.
Found your channel because of this series. Excited to watch this build unfold cause I hope to restore my 96 I picked up last year eventually. Just had two kids in the last two years and where the economy is, most of if not all of these things are unaffordable for me atm. My project will be put on hold for a long time but your series when finished will be a highlight for me to come back to for review. Congrats to you and your wife on the baby!
I have a 95 with the 351 and I am also rebuilding the engine. I have looked into the Holley Terminator X for my ECM, and highly recommend, I have used it on a few other obs ford including a 250 with the 351.
It looks really nice I was just wondering because I have a 93 and got the front end all apart like yours was and wasn’t sure if I should do all the same things as you and then end up doing the motor after all this work I’m in Maryland and these broncos don’t resell good mainly due to rust
@@ChaseGentry it’s ok I went full retard on my suspension too… new and powder coat and everything. Just wish I had the space to strip and powder coat the whole frame.
I have a 96 that I’ve done a full Desolate kit on and am going to do the engine soon. What you did looks exactly what I’d like to do, but I’ve been concerned about how the ECM will handle the upgrades. Has your engine builder talked about engine management and what to do, are you going to use the factory ECM or what are your plans for that? If your build works with the factory electronics I’d be thrilled and know my plan. Watching the build with interest.
We discussed it in lots of detail. The only thing we’re a tad concerned about is the cam. We did consult a few others when ordering parts and this should be fine under OEM parameters to drop in turn key and go.
@@ChaseGentry I'm swapping my 302 for a 351 that runs fine but after seeing your videos I want to do some mods to produce more HP, if you can share parts numbers, specs, etc it'll be highly appreciated, I'm following you from Colombia, and we don't have that kind of documentation, especially tunning those old beasts. Mine is a 94, MAF, E4OD. By the way, did you use the old exhaust manifold with the new heads? Can't wait to see the engine fire-up video and future updates. Congrats on your new baby born!!!
Can some gearhead tell me how reliable a rebuilt engine is? Im a guitar player lol! But im currently saving a lot of money to start an OBS Bronco overland project and go back and forth between saving several more thousand to buy a beand new crate 351 or having it rebuilt. I dont WANT to spend more money but peace of mind if the highest priority on my list with the project as I will certainly be going to some really remote places out in the west. So, having a completely rebuilt 351 out of a stock Bronco that has maybe 200,000+ miles on it. Would you say its still very reliable?
Congratulations on your child was wandering why you put a new motor after doing all the work you did on your old motor and why did you take it out of the truck in the first place
By rebuilding the engine, did you have to remap the computer since you removed all smog, etc? I’m interested in remapping and tuning aspect of this build. Please provide some insight.
The might as wells R going to kill me lol
I really appreciate your videos and looking forward to seeing the finished project
Enjoy

Thank you man! We’re so blasted to have a perfect little girl! And I’m stoked you’re enjoying the series! Next couple videos in the saga drop soon
Dang, now that is attention to detail! Had a 96 with that motor previously. Great vehicle. Can’t wait to see it when it’s finished!

Great info love it. Redoing my 96 ford f250 4x4 with 351 also
Right on!
Awesome video!!!!!!
Yes finally an update !
Sorry for the delay 🙏🙏🏁🏁
I am looking to rebuild my 1994 ford Bronco 5.8 engine as well, along with the transmission.
Bad ass hopefully this was helpful
Bad ass! I need a great recommendation for a engine builder in Central Texas for my 96 Bronco, if there is any out there in our OBS Bronco community.
I know someone down south
@@ChaseGentry any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Congrats on the baby! Hood fitment checked with that giant intake??
Specifically for these trucks.
Do you have a full list of all the parts for the motor. Your motor build is exactly what I want

@@ChaseGentry did you keep factory pushrods, did you use arp roller rocker studs?

If it’s all apart already might as well
I just going to clean it up & putting it back in…. Complete motor build with the Gucci top end

Depends on the engine builder really. If it’s a good one a rebuilt motor is as reliable as an OEM engine.
I ordered a new motor but was wondering do you need the EGR valve and tube also what headers did you go with
BBK headers
What headers did you go with??? Thank you.
BBK
What are you using for fuel rails and injectors?
Stock

Just wanted it all to be fresh. So when I done It’s curls for years to come.

How do you tune the engine? Been wanting to do the same to mine but tuning capabilities is what is keeping me from doing it
Shouldn’t require tuning since it so mild.

@@druss2535no remapping or tuning. It’s mild enough to all be plug 🔌 and play with factory efi.
I’ll buy your original wheels and tires for my 96 bronco
Sold already, brother
If you're yellow Bilstein take offs are available for sale I'm interested.
I sent you an Instagram message.
