Probably 97% Scandinavian, if not higher 😅 Unfortunately, I’ve only found Viking themed decks that could be said to be based on my ancestral culture, and let’s be real, my personal ancestors were most likely farmers… Any suggestions are gratefully accepted 🙇🏼♀️
Find a deck that connects you that feeling, whatever that means to you. Don't worry too much about the authors origin. Then maybe study folklore or those areas while you familiarize yourself with the deck. That way you draw those feelings with the history.
Nice suggestion, to use the Witches Wisdom as an oracle ❤ I’m 100% Italian, but I’ve always been drawn to the Arthurian legends and the Celtic tradition, plus I lived next to the Yakama reservation, so I have plenty of Native friends - and decks. I’m such a wonderful mess 😜🥰❤️
Awesome video! I've Welsh, Scottish, German, Polish, Cherokee and Creek ancestry. I began delving into ancestor work shortly after my mother passed away. This gives me a whole new way to go thru and look at my tarot/oracle library and really get the work started. Thank you for the suggestions and ideas!
Hi. Thank you for this. I am stsrting to work with my ancestors but thoughg I would need a new deck. I am so glad you show some of my favourite decks and how to use them in ancestor work. ❤😊Its interesting that you talk about your Welsh ancestry. My grandmother was Welsh. I never knew her so I have recently bought a little Welsh doll in national costume to represent her on my ancestor altar.
Really enjoyed your thoughts on this topic. I’ve recently been working with the Shining Tribe Tarot as an ancestral deck and loving how it reads for me. It’s such got such an ancient vibe that it takes me waaay back in time. You’ve also sparked me to try using the Greenwood Tarot to tap into my Celtic heritage. I’m mostly Irish, Scottish and Welsh. Namaste 🙏🏼🦉🌿
My general breakdown is 84% West and Central African, and the rest is English, Scottish and Northwest European, which I take to mean Celtic in some way. My last name is of Welsh origin. I connect very strongly to the Tazama African Tarot and plan to work with it and either the Hoodoo Tarot or Dust II Onyx more this season. I also like the Earth Wisdom oracle - you make me want to edge mine in green 🤗
My Mom was Scottish. I know people rag on it, but I like the Sacred Circle Tarot because it has images of actual ancient British earthworks. That feels like my ancestry.
The Council of Monarchs in the Förhäxa Tarot is actually the Emperor card, not the Hermit. That said, I very much enjoyed this video which I found belatedly as I start on my own ancestral path. We seem to have a very similar taste in decks. I trimmed my Witch's Wisdom deck not long after buying it upon release. I got rid of the text and then concentrated on each image and what it said to me and thereby created one of my most stalwart and meaningful oracle decks.
Whoops! Thanks for the correction. I have been using Witch's Wisdom all last month, and I've really enjoyed getting to know Corrots methodology. I love that you made it an oracle. I really love the illustrations.
Oh wow thanks! I bought the Witches Wisdom deck a while ago because I loved the art and symbolism. But I am new to tarot and this deck was too confusing. I just got it out again and I agree it works wonderfully as an Oracle deck!
Thank you for this video - really gets me thinking. I’ve been wanting to do Ancestor work, but haven’t been able to find a deck that works for me. I have Celtic and Germanic (probably some Nordic) roots with a bit of French thrown in for good measure! I have a very strong desire to connect with the Germanic/Nordic side particularly and you’ve just given me a great idea - Fairytales! A deck that feels connected to fairytales (Grimms variety) may be perfect! Blessings 💕
I’ve always been drawn to the Druid Tarot ( it’ll be one of my new purchases) & The Mists of Avalon Oracle. I’ve had my eye on those for a while as I do my best not to overbuy tarot/oracles lol so far I’m doing pretty good! Lol well that is one I really consider getting it as something really draws me to it! Also having Spaniard ancestry I am really drawn to the Norse decks - they inhabited Spain from quite sometime and mostly the areas where my maternal grandparents were from. I also have Arab ancestry, but haven’t found a deck yet that speaks to me.
@@TarotandWitchery Thank you,April ☺️ I’ll look for it! I’m also happy to report that my reading skills drastically improved once i let go of my inner critic, I find myself being able to channel messages during readings out of the blue- the way I describe it is as if somehow information, that’s not even in the spread will be dropped into my head
Love this video, thank you for doing this! I love how you describe the ways you connect with each deck. Love the Forhaxa and Witchs' Wisdpm decks, among my favorites, but had never thought about ancestral pathworking with them!! I am Polish and Swedish on one side and English/Irish on the other side. Some of that side also appears to stretch back to France /The Norman period. I've always felt very connected to the polish and Scandinavian side. You mentioned a lot of good polish decks? Other than Slavic Legends do you know of others? This is all really synchronistic. Doing a reading/ritual back in sept I had this quick vision of what I believe were ancestors pulling me into a previous life time. Then a few weeks later I saw a book on ancestral tarot on Audible and since have been feeling called to explore some ancestral connection via tarot. And then saw this!
@thepolishfilkwitch used to have a good handful of videos showing Polish decks, but it appears she took some videos down! Also, many are IN Polish, so that might be a barrier. I want to pull on my Daniah side in 2025, so I'll be looking for more avenues for that. I thunk it's about the feel, and doe me the folklore. Enjoy the adventure of uncovering yourself. May you enjoy all the aspects of who you are and the richness of your ancestors.
I use the Antiquarian and Carte Postale. I'd like to find a deck that reflects Germanic Paganism. I'm half German half Irish. Plenty of Irish Pagan decks exist.
Loved this video. The biggest parts of my ancestry (mixed with a lot) is Mexican and Irish from those stem a bunch of different ethnic backgrounds I’ve got Welsh, Swedish, Finnish , Scottish….my family jokes and says almost everything with an “ish” 🤣
Wow! I loved this video so much ❤ I feel ready to explore how to do ancestral work. My ancestors are Russian, Armenian and, most probably, Czech. But I also feel very drawn to Celtic culture and middle east, don't know why.
Great video! My ancestors are all from Greece. My parents were the the 1st generation born in America. Im still pretty new to Tarot and am looking for a Greek deck. xx
On earth I have ancestors from Sweden, Germany and the USA. My previous lives has been on earth, doing farming but also medicine work. I have european ancestry but also indian is what I understand. I am a soul who switches from being a great leader to being the oppressed. And I am always working with human rights in some form. Also, I have lived lives as a pleiadian and I am still psychic here on earth, I have work as a medium and of course I simply love my tarot and oracle decks. I'm also into crystals for their healing properties and I love animals, I am a animal communicator too. Well, of course I am simply a nature soul with love in my soul. ❤😊

@thejosielulu Have you checked out he Herbcrafters Tarot? It might really speak to your farming ancestry as it sure really does to mine.

Edging I am comfortable with. It's the trumming I'm terrified of!
@@TarotandWitchery Same! I have never trimmed a deck 🫣
My ancestors were from Scotland, England, Wales and Denmark. Have a lot of Celtic decks, and am adding Viking decks and books to my study.
We might have been related!
I’m 28% southeast Asian, including Fipino AND the rest is European. My great grandmother was from Norway. I have no idea where to start.
It sounds like you already have started! Reach out with your heart and the rest will follow!
Somewhat, yes. I’m wondering what tarot deck to use.
I think it’s gonna take some time to choose the one that makes sense for me.
My Mom was Scottish. I know people rag on it, but I like the Sacred Circle Tarot because it has images of actual ancient British earthworks. That feels like my ancestry.
Who cares what others say! Meaning is personal and having a deck that speaks to you is precious!
Thank you my dear, I enjoyed All - but specially the last words❤... May freedom be in our hearts
So mote it be!

You might look at the Tarot de Carlotydes. It is Spanish and has a Moorish influence...

I wonder if the Witch's Cookery might have some German deck suggestions 🤔

Let me know if you find a Greek deck! I am sure there have to be some helwnic decks or Greek legends one that you would like? The Mythic Tarot
I have the Druid cards I have English Irish and Scottish 😊 ❤
Lovely! Maybe they will be a good tool for you...
Native American, my ancestors belong to the Lencas Tribes from Central America.
I’m curious what polish decks you were referring to.
@thepolishfilkwitch used to have a good handful of videos showing Polish decks, but it appears she took some wideos down!
Which dack is Best for ancestors reading... Plz let me know???
There are 6 here to choose from. Pick the one that you feel most drawn to, or the one that feels like your ancestors.
