They are labeled as trekking boots. You can absolutely use them in that manner. I've been using them all summer now and they are still holding up well. The knobs on the inside of the sole have delaminated slightly (about 1/8 of an inch). I trimmed off the edges of the inside knobs so they would have less tendency to catch on things and pull from the sole. I think with normal trekking, you wouldn't experience the same issue. I just beat my boots pretty badly on the trail.
I've been pounding them every day for the past 2 months. I don't get hot spots and have no worries. They are awesome in wet and rainy weather. The Gore Tex stops it all. I'm still super happy with them and still no hidden problems have arisen. Get them.
@@outdoorgearrepair9187 how's the lacing loops (the part fixed into the shoe) performing? I'm a bit worried that the loops can get cut overtime and you have to throw them in the dumpster.
The only drawback that I've had with the boots was that the knobs that stick out laterally on the sole started to delaminate a little so I just shaved them off. Totally solved it. I recommended to AKU that they consider this in future models.

How do they perform during a few-days long, high-intensive hiking? How do they perform during warm or rainy/wet weather?

@@RedBulZ I actually had the same worry but they've held up. I really do beat these things around a lot of rocky terrain too.
