Yes, they are all straight up phenomenal--I've always admired the hell out of Saiki who can stand in the midst of this glorious barrage and deliver her fine vocals. Sure she has the "in ear" monitors but it still must be a workout! Bulletproof indeed!

I think something that always impresses me is that the other two (of the Kami trio) are from a very prestigious music school in Tokyo so it's obvious in how good their ability to play their instruments are. On the other hand, Kanami is an Economics/Business(?) major. She only started guitar in high school

As a guitar player, I can say their music is so impressive and one of best written and choreographed rock music I ever heard and they deserve grammy award for best rock music of the year.
If you have seen intros to Kanami speaking and the goofy things she's done, you would classify her as shy and sweet. THEN, when she starts to play, a Monster shredder comes out like a dragon.... Everyone in the band has roots to great music....

From their earliest videos it was obvious these five people had some kind of magic together. The only comparison I can think of is John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Agreed,I am a drummer to, Senri Kawaguchi is one of the best I have ever seen as well.I Love this group though.I cannot get enough of these new songs,I so wish they would come to the states, They do have alot of fans her, and its very very hard to break in the Us.. lots of competition.
Recently I started watching TH-camrs reacting to Band-Maid for the first (second, third, fourth, etc) time. The utter shock and awe Band-Maid imposes on all of them is priceless. It reminds me of the first time I watched a band maid. I was blown away by their skills. Every member is a master of their craft.
@rezargamer recommend checking out David Heretic. Fun reactions, and the guy seems to be genuine. Not mocking the musictaste or something, Just says it isn't his taste etc... But yeah he also gets Band-maid. But he is a musicians so he dissect the music and give a good reason for not liking and why he thinks something is awesome.

It’s funny that Fume Z should state, “…not a copy of western music”. Truth is I believe Band- Maid has develop their own style of hard rock that combines a number of elements but is always melody centric. This is why their songs always draw you in and feel comfortable - even tho some of us do not speak, much less write Japanese. Hey, it’s BAND-MAID!!!!
I just recently discovered these ladies. Truly amazing!! Good old fashion ass kicking hard rock music. Love the energy, the talent, harmonies, the riffs, drummer is extremely good, bassist, guitarist & vocalist are spot on. Just wished it was in English so I could sing along lol. Absolutely love it!!

In my experience they are popular because they are good. Image has almost nothing to do with it, of which i'd say that more applies to idol groups or perhaps something like Scandal, where their musical abilities are yet to develop. The core of Band Maid fans have followed them for a long time and there are very few remarks about their image much of the time - simply because they are fairly average looking Japanese women. Please don't impart your western nonsense over to the east, it's why some of us left in the first place. Tono-Sensei, is easily one of the greatest modern guitarists of our time. One of the few I'd actually want to sign my PRSC24.

They would be more popular if they wrote more old school type music like Thrill. Most of what they do is modern and progressive sounding, which sounds like everyone else. Thrill was such a hit because it wasn't the over processed formulaic garbage we hear everywhere. People want to real rock/metal.
Exactly. Misa and Kanami are really good on their instruments but the drive from Akane's drums is what propels this band into the stratosphere. She doesn't just keep the beat, she starts her fills early and uses them to drive the music forward and her timing is impeccable.

I won’t add anymore to the comments about Band-Maid’s talent. It’s without doubt that they are very highly skilled, they’re even better live playing in both big or small intimate venues. I just want to say that this MV captured a beautiful aesthetic. The ladies playing out in the open, bathed in natural light with the wind blowing while they’re rocking is just a sight to behold!
Kanami, MISA and Akane's professional training really shows how talented these beautiful women are. Saiki has got an incredible voice. They amaze me every time I see and hear them play. Luv these women. Thanks to Miku for creating an amazing band.
Miku always amazes me with her lyrics. Recently Miku has impressed me as a rythm guitarist of class. The online conserts of 2021 shows how far she has come. Thanks to Kanami Sensei's teaching Miku has become a very good guitarist.

Hey, I'm 68 and have been into rock since the Beatles played Ed Sullivan and I have heard a lot of music in my time, used to go to lots of concerts in my younger days and all but I ain't ever heard nothing as powerful as this band. And the music from their live DVDs is even better than the studio stuff. One of the best live bands ever.

The Maids were so young, 7 years ago, but still they had "it", even then. What is the word for talented, beautiful, catchy, skilled? Well, it's actually two words, Band-Maid.
From their earliest videos it was obvious these five people had some kind of magic together. The only comparison I can think of is John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Recently I started watching TH-camrs reacting to Band-Maid for the first (second, third, fourth, etc) time. The utter shock and awe Band-Maid imposes on all of them is priceless. It reminds me of the first time I watched a band maid. I was blown away by their skills. Every member is a master of their craft.
@rezargamer recommend checking out David Heretic. Fun reactions, and the guy seems to be genuine. Not mocking the musictaste or something, Just says it isn't his taste etc... But yeah he also gets Band-maid. But he is a musicians so he dissect the music and give a good reason for not liking and why he thinks something is awesome.

It’s funny that Fume Z should state, “…not a copy of western music”. Truth is I believe Band- Maid has develop their own style of hard rock that combines a number of elements but is always melody centric. In my experience they are popular because they are good. Image has almost nothing to do with it, of which i'd say that more applies to idol groups or perhaps something like Scandal, where their musical abilities are yet to develop. The core of Band Maid fans have followed them for a long time and there are very few remarks about their image much of the time - simply because they are fairly average looking Japanese women. Please don't impart your western nonsense over to the east, it's why some of us left in the first place.

Types of performing arts
Performing arts include the dance, music, opera, drama, Spoken word and circus arts.
Artists who participate in performing arts in front of an audience are called performers, including actors, comedians, dancers, musicians, and singers. Performing arts are also supported by workers in related fields, such as songwriting and stagecraft.
Performers often adapt their appearance, such as with costumes and stage makeup, etc.
There is also a specialized form of fine art in which the artists perform their work live to an audience. This is called performance art. Most performance art also involves some form of plastic art, perhaps in the creation of props. Dance was often referred to as a plastic art during the Modern dance era.
Music
Music as an academic discipline mainly focuses on two career paths, music performance (focused on the orchestra and the concert hall) and music education (training music teachers). Dennis grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio before attending Gulf Coast Jr. College in Panama City, Florida where he was a first team All American. From there he attended Drake University where he graduated and was first team All Missouri Valley. Dennis then was drafted by the NY Knicks in 1973 and was part of the Knicks organization from 1974-1976. From there he played in Europe and finished his career in the Eastern League now the CBA. Dennis went on to get his MBA from Grand Valley State University after starting Recreational Debut in 1984.

They would be more popular if they wrote more old school type music like Thrill. Most of what they do is modern and progressive sounding, which sounds like everyone else. Thrill was such a hit because it wasn't the over processed formulaic garbage we hear everywhere. People want to real rock/metal.

Exactly. Misa and Kanami are really good on their instruments but the drive from Akane's drums is what propels this band into the stratosphere. She doesn't just keep the beat, she starts her fills early and uses them to drive the music forward and her timing is impeccable.

Hey, I'm 68 and have been into rock since the Beatles played Ed Sullivan and I have heard a lot of music in my time, used to go to lots of concerts in my younger days and all but I ain't ever heard nothing as powerful as this band. And the music from their live DVDs is even better than the studio stuff. One of the best live bands ever.

This is my favorite Band Maid song. And even if it was not written by themselves, certainly no other group would have ever been able to perform it in this wonderful way.
Japan is absolutely ready to rock the World...I did not hear 1 bad song, from all the groups I listened too. SUPERB.

I'm so throughly impressed with this band. I've been into metal/rock for a little over 10 years so not long compared to many others but goddamn this band is so amazing all around I havent found a single song so far that hasnt given me this same feeling every time I listen to a new song, even though I dont understand the lyrics. I'm blown away and I can bet they put on an absolutely amazing show live

That's it right here: every single song is incredibly great, it's like they pour their heart and soul into every song they produce. No bad songs in their whole library, and that is extremely rare even for the best bands ever.
