- Is Epic Mickey 2 Any Good on the Steam Deck? Maybe you've seen the Steam Deck, or even own one yourself, and have thought about playing Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two on it. Well that's a shame, it's weird that UI elements are missing though (I assume the green squares are what the game defaults to when missing textures) why would that even be a problem on deck if the PC version works fine?
the Steam Deck runs on Linux which has some things different than other operating systems like Windows, so i think that might be why everything is messed up

I think it is a proton issue finding assets. I used a save file from my windows pc to "play" for a bit
it apparently works if you change the location it's downloaded on to the external SD card if you have one.
That sucks. Maybe with some later revisions of Proton, compatibility will go up. What version of Proton were you using? Using Proton Next, Experimental, 7.05 and even GE Proton can wield wildly different results for Windows Steam games on Linux
definitely I don't see why it wouldn't improve.
I've actually been playing it on the Steam Deck recently. It's not perfect, but the issues mentioned here aren't coming up for me.

Honestly I'm happy about this video epic mickey 2 is my favorite game of all time and I know it's not worth getting one for this

the files for that video were on my old computer and not on the one that i use now, which means that i would have to redo everything to make that video which is kinda discouraging. so i don’t know if i’m going to decide to redo everything, but if i do then it’s not a very high priority right now
oh cool! when i last tried em2 using proton over a year ago, it didn't launch at all. this is a good sign :)

You know what's weird? I can see em2 steam version getting an update to fix it. Seriously though why did em 2 get updated in 2022??????

This is kinda hilarious. I know not everything functions on the PC version anyway, but how did they manage to fuck up the UI this badly when porting it? Kinda crazy how early it softlocks you as well
Its even worse when you consider the fact that the game still recieves patches

@@Semy_04 i assume so, i haven’t played it since i don’t really have a reason to play it on an emulator unless i’m making a video. i think Linux is good at emulating stuff and the Steam Deck is definitely capable of running EM
@FungusNitrogen its true from what I can tell I have a friend who has the steam deck and he has emulated it on steam deck, and EM1 seems to work fine.
at least i didn’t waste my time installing it like i did with witcher 2
