When I was reviewing the video post publishing I noticed the pick up line in the tank looked like it was only 1/2 length. I pulled the pickup out and indeed, the feed to the motor is the small line, the return is the large one. I welded a full length pickup on the large line and kept it as I had it, large line delivery, small line return. Secondly, a viewer Shane asked about the logic of the filter placement. This triggered me to review the video and I discovered the filters were swapped around the wrong way! The 100 micro filter goes pre pump, the 10 micron filter goes post pump. Two traps for young player😉😎
Hey Terry loves the fj45 builds and I like how you have got some pieces from all the other cruiser 100series/ Prado etc so well done to find those .great work
Thanks for showing concern mate, yes we are all well and now super immune (we hope!). I’m doing the DBA brake and rotor fitment to my 200 this weekend so that video will drop sometime in the not too distant future. Enjoy wrenching on your Landcruiser mate, have a great weekend👍😎
Thanks Keith, that’s very kind of you to say. I certainly have lots of head scratch moments but tend to get there in the end. One thing good about videoing the journey, it keeps me from cutting corners because the viewers will flame me😂. Have a great weekend mate 👍😎
Mate loving your videos. Being that I am just about to start building my new to me 45 I am sooo stoked that you are putting a 79 series tub on yours because that was my plan exactly. I am going to fabricate some under tub toolboxes to bring the bottom tub profile down to the bottom of the cab line and behind the tire another one that has a angled click up at the back to taper the rear end because I like that look. Thanks again for the awesome thorough videos- you make it look so easy that you give me confidence that I can pull this stuff off haha. Hope the Rona is easy on you and the family. I am in the SW if WA so it’s not really here yet, but probably won’t be far away
Thanks for your kind words Justin, they keep me motivated. All well on the Rona front, thanks for showing concern. Everyone has recovered well and now we have a household of super-immunes (I hope🤔😉). I’m sitting down at the shed sucking on a beer and having a staring contest with the 79 tub when your message came through. Still have no idea how I’m going to do this so I have concluded I just need to jump in. At this stage I know I need to chop the tub about 300mm forward of the rear wheels. You have much more of a plan than I do already, I’m jealous. This part of the build is going to take a while, I know that. For that reason I suggest you subscribe if you have not already. I don’t monetise my channel and I’m not trying to collect “subs” or tell you (or anyone else) what to do, I just don’t know when the next 45 series video will drop and if it’s important to you I would be bummed if you missed it. Anyway, have a great Sunday…back to my beer and staring contest😂👍😎
Ohh crap, I’ll try and make them a little more boring because I never want to get between a man and his beer😂. Thanks for watching and commenting mate, I sincerely appreciate it 👍😎
nice... would use Garret turbine flange/v-band sizes and leave appropriate room for a pair of snails on those exhaust stacks.... you know... just in-case :)
I’ll have enough trouble getting traction with the supercharged motor, adding a couple of snails on top of that would be killer😂. Thanks for watching, have a great weekend👍😎
Just wanted to write about pick up and return as I did fuel tank swap for my 80 series. You probably already know that baffke in fuel tank is made to supply fuel to that small line and that means your big line suck baffle empty in no time. My solution was drilling 2 holes close to bottom of baffle in middle so fuel has more way to get there instead of only that narrow pipe.
@@JafffaAdventures Yeah man, did you have to do any modifications or you are all good when fuel drop below baffle brim and have to be replenish only by that smal inlet pipe?
@@JafffaAdventures in my case as soon as I have last 15-20L of fuel it starve engine because pump is sucking fuel a bit faster and that is only 1hdt. Also filling that tank is also not the fastest.
Great vid/episode, off topic do you have any concerns regarding those 60 series diffs copping with all that LSA grunt? P.S I’ve now seen how heavy that right hoof of yours is after the 57 chev vid😂
Yes indeed Adam, I do like to get to the prescribed speed limit in the most expeditious manner possible😉😂. I don’t have any concern about the diffs coping for a few reasons. Firstly, I fitted that Torsen limited slip centre back in episode 9 of the build and that’s super strong. Second, the 40 diffs are a LOT beefier than what I have in the 57 Chev with motors of similar power outputs. I have not blown the Chev diff up yet, so these should be fine (please no jinxing myself here). Thirdly, the ass end of the 40 will be that light that’s it’s doubtful I will be able to get all that power down to the ground without blazing the tyres. That’s my theory anyway. Good question mate, have a great weekend👍😎
Bugger, I could have used that a few months ago😂. All good, the solution I came up with worked in the end. Thanks for the offer and for watching. Cheers😎👍
@@JafffaAdventures your build is very interesting I like that you kept the 45 frame and everything else you have done you have given me some ideas ,,fuel tank is a good one,, i also had built a LS auto 1982 FJ45 almost everything that you have done is almost the same way as mine the things that are different is my one Is a LS1 I had to make my engine mount's they wasn't available back then and the year of the 45 ,,I have to warn you the 45 don't like going over 160km I reckon they definitely need a front sway bar for speed I'm sure the 75s sway bar will fit easily,, I no longer have the V8 but I'm about to build a new project HJ47 extra cab ,, the fun will start ones I think I have all the parts and plenty of spare parts to work with
That sounds like a very cool build and your LS ride sounded great as well. You’re obviously a big fan of the 40 series and it’s great they are getting the attention these days. Thanks for sharing and watching mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍
@@JafffaAdventuresI can't help myself I really like modifieding old car's 4x4s with bigger engines and try to make what ever it is look standard as possible so no one look at me. Keep up the good work I'll be watching 🙃
Now Shane, this is a fantastic example of the power of social media and a real benefit (to me) of doing these videos. After reading your comment, I said “what’s Shane talking about, the 100 micron is pre pump, the 10 post”. So I went back and watched the video and sure enough, you were right I had the 10 pre and the 100 post. This is WRONG! The correct placement is 100 pre and 10 post. The logic behind that is that 10 is too fine pre. It can block easier and can reduce pump output making the pump run hot. Therefore use 100. The 10 is needed post so there is a filter media present that is fine enough to remove debris that could otherwise block the injectors. So thanks Shane, you just saved me a headache at the least, a cooked fuel pump at the worst! I’ll pin a comment in the comments section to warn others! Thanks again mate😎😎

Your cruiser is coming along very nicely mate. Keep up the great work!
Thank you mate, that is very kind of you to reach out and say. Have a wonderful evening. Cheers 👍😎
Before 10 minutes ago I checked your channel waiting this video. LOL

I enjoy every minute of that video 👍🏼 can't wait till next video
Thanks for the kind words mate. I’m working on the tub video currently and should be out in the coming weeks👍😎
Awesome engine. My 2017 GTS ran this motor, upgraded boost, cam etc made just under 700whp. Looks like a great project.
I had a ZL1 Camaro with the same motor and upgraded boost as well. Loved that car😎👍
I just love these vids on a Friday as I get motivated for me to work on my 200. Trust you and the household have recovered well

Another A1 episode Terry. Getting closer to turning that noise key.
Yes indeed mate, it’s getting exciting and almost within reach. Thanks for watching and commenting mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍
You could always put rubber mounting washers under the fuel pump to help reduce noise further.
Those mounting legs are rubber mate so they will do the job. Thanks for the tip David, cheers👍😎
