As a fan of the game I’d like to make a suggestion and hopefully someone reads this might take it into consideration but can you make a setting to make switch stance tricks stay looking switch? I’d love for the switch pushes to look switch too! I’m sure a bunch of skaters would appreciate this little detail. Thanks!
This is getting so old, they announced the game like 4 years ago at this point and they still keep using the excuse that they don’t have it ready yet, Idk why people keep eating this garbage up.

I just want a realistic mode like Session. I'm confident Skate will deliver on all other areas, a realistic mode where you have to use both sticks to do tricks, as well as land perfectly on a rail to lock in would be the icing on the cake.

I hope board sales are still in the game. It gives skating another purpose along with just skating for the fun of it, as well as creating an obvious goal for the player. It also made the unlocking of new challenges and clothing feel like a rational part of the story. Also; I'm afraid this game will be soulless and too "corporate". The other games all had a lot of soul and personality, especially the first Skate, which I personally feel like really captured skate culture perfectly. Playing it felt like I was just hanging out with my friend group, and it was really cool to have actual skaters in the game
I’m so hype that y’all confirmed a story mode being back, that’s was probably one of my most worrying things about the new skate game but I’m glad a story is coming
The transparency and communication from the developers has been immaculate, and I am super excited for their vision of the future of Skate. That said, I don't know if I can truly get on board if there is no offline mode. I still play skate. (2007) to this day, but I won't be able to do that with this new Skate game if it'll always requires an internet connection. One day those servers will be shut down, and when that happens, everything this game ever was and will be will cease to exist.

I’m excited for this game. But my one worry is that all the updates we’ve seen are talking about stuff that isn’t anything to do with skating. Haven’t heard them talk once about the physics and realism of skating. Stat menu? Variations in animations? Landing animations? I’m all for climbing and ‘flumping’ as they put it. But I wanna be able to make a realistic edit or do realistic looking tricks. That’s why I liked skate originally, it felt very realistic. Im also worried that the gravity physics look way to floaty. I hope you can adjust the gravity physics in the game so you can play more realistically I just hope that element is absolutely nailed and they’re not spending too much time on all this other stuff, as cool as it might be. I want a proper skating game first and foremost
Every time one of these comes out I get so excited, for the first time in a long time I feel like a really good game I'm going to play for a long time is coming out, and I don't really have any reason to believe I'll be disappointed
The thing i would want is a "wax system" the wax system means that you can go jump to a ledge or rail and you can press a button to wax it and what wax does is makes the ledge or rail more smooth and have a different noise when grinding or sliding. When without wax you will slow down when grinding way faster then when grinding or sliding with wax and the noise will be different, if grinding without wax and land awkwardly on the ledge or rail your character will bail and hit the ground. Please make this a thing
I play Skate 1 almost everyday. I'm not really into the parkour/activities focus here. I hope they pay as much attention to the basics too like the transition animations inbetween tricks and pop height out of grinds. I love simply carving as Mike Carroll in the community centre. The way he puts his backfoot over the bolts when he turns and his kickflip style is still unmatched. The slappies and firecrackers got me excited though.
The game looks incredible - Please don't feel rushed by the impatient people. We can wait! if you really know the Skate series, you see way past the pre(+++) alpha aesthetic & appreciate how much awesome stuff is being implemented.
There's tons new additions to the onboard gameplay. Just because they also included additional offboard controls it doesn't mean the game is steering away from skating. Having both onboard and offboard gimmicks doesn't really ruin anything, because you can do whatever you want regardless and it will still feel like a skate game.

as a traditional Skate player and irl skater i’m pretty excited for the group challenges and the throwdowns even tho i prefer to play alone. skate tag sounds fun too tbh
This might be silly, but I'm really hoping they'll announce an open PC playtest. I'm having a new comfy chair delivered on the same day, so I would play nonstop for hours and hours.
I want to touch briefly on the non skate activities. I don't care about that at all. I just want to skate. Please do not waste time or dev hours on activities that are not related to skating. Overall, I am glad that you are making EA skate again. I was asking for years and you are delivering so for that I am grateful.
From the looks of things this is being built from the ground up for non skaters and casual fans, the fact they haven’t talked about anything realism or technical skating and focused all their time on the goofy XD random sandbox elements is really starting to worry
@@SynkGD you clearly don’t know much about the the skate game franchise then, these games didn’t sell and receive 2 sequels because they were goofy funny glitchy games, they were THE BEST skate games that had come out to that point, the only reason people see skate as a goofy franchise is because of the TH-cam skate resurgence in 2014-15, these games were not made for people who just want to run around and headbutt a wall instead of actually skate
Man, I'm stoked for this game. I've been playing since skate 1. I still have my skate 2 preorder shirt and am still wearing it proudly. I would've loved for them to bring the games to pc while we wait.
I loved how in skate 2 you spawned in a alley in some old industrial place, and you progress to this skaterbuilt skatepark called slappy’s, it realy sets the mood for the rest of the game! Hope for san vaneolna remaster in the future🤞🏻
I'm with you -- it would be amazing if there was couch co-op multiplayer in this. I feel like it was in S2 but not in S3 and was frankly a disappointment. Being able to pass a controller back and forth playing Hall of Meat or watching your friends slamming when free-skating was fantastic. Split-screen would be fun, too, especially as TVs get cheaper and cheaper resulting in massive sizes us old folks never thought possible.
You are doing a great job with the activities. There really is something for everyone. The 'Throwdown' activities are hyping me up the most. The fact that I will be able to do an activity with my friend on any piece of terrain I choose is so sick. That is something I have been hoping for since Skate 3.
Idk about all that, Nike seems to be dealing with stock x drama so I don’t expect much from a brand like Nike. Maybe some other brands and boards but besides that I don’t expect much since the skate crew has not presented us with brand details. They haven’t even given us details if there are going to be pros. Like the crew is filling our ears up with talks about the game but what progress have they truly made.
Even if the game is going to be free to play, I would love to buy Story Mode as a DLC or something. The contests, film challenges, death races, hall of meat challenges... etc is what made the game so great and fun in my opinion.
Activities are great but if the core skate mechanics are on par or crisp the long term fans won’t stick around no matter how big the playground is or how many activities there are. I’ve asked a few times and put it onto the ideas board very early on that the team needs to confirm there will be a hardcore mode. Part of the reason skate has stayed in everyone’s minds for so long is because of the hardcore fans that take skating seriously, the have spent countless hours in the film/replay editor and made their skate films and teams a reality within the game. If players of both the floaty, AND weighted/hardcore players aren’t being thought of when building this world you’ll be missing a lot of your core audience. Me along with a majority of people have been waiting to immerse ourselves in the world that real skates have built. We need to see more flat ground tricks, and the tricks Mullen did, and stuff Andy Anderson is doing now. Please take this into account, and don’t neglect this.
Just hoping it has a good singleplayer. From what I've seen the game looks really fun and faithful to the Skate identity. Realistic skating and ragdoll chaos!!! 😂

i dont like how theyre emphasizing that theyre trying to cater towards people that dont know anything about skateboarding, also @ 3:45 switch looks broken because the characters head model is looking backwards? hope they fix that
Yeah the emphasizing towards people who don't know anything about skateboarding was kind of a red flag imo. It's a skateboarding game lmao who else is the game for?!?!? I remember the original Skate had a lot of dialogue and jokes that are referencing legit things in skate culture along with realistic skateboarding compared to other games at the time. It catered heavily to skaters and people into skateboarding, I don't get why they are trying to make a skateboarding game fun for "everyone" when the audience should be skaters or people into skateboarding by the very least...
If the game is tailored to a variety of people instead of a specific audience like skaters, then it is pretty much guaranteed that the game will be a bigger money marker. You got to remember that EA are the publisher of this game. For a heavilty-anticipated title that has a lot of rules set by the big cats at the top who don't know a fragment on skateboarding, I got to say that Full Circle are doing a fantastic job with what they have been given to work with.
the flicks and boned ollies look really sick, i personally couldnt care less about activities, but setting up games of s.k.a.t.e. with modifiers on any obstacle would be so sick
If you look very closely, behind the developers you can spot what appears to be a skateboard deck, which are commonly used for skateboarding. This might mean the game will have skateboarding in it as a feature.
I wonder if they’ll add duel stick controls and give you an option like a tony hawk style if you just want to mess around, a classic skate style, and a realistic duel stick style. I think it would make a lot of people happy
This game is going to be awesome. It’s honestly going to be my most favorite game to play for a long ass time. I’m a super long time Skate fan. Been playing Skate since the first release. This series has been very impactful on my life. Thank you guys. Can’t wait for this release.
I think my only suggestion is to get the skateboarding part of this game right before even thinking about anything else. If this doesn't feel like a next gen skateboarding game with best in class physics, lighting, world design and dynamic weather you're cruising for 6/10 scores.
Will there be an offline mode? I have countless hours in Skate 3 just mindlessly skating and messing around and it would be nice to not have to be constantly online

My god all of this genuinely sounds incredible, the combination of skateboarding, parkour, customization and play driven real time creation make such a beautiful base layer. If you can have these activities, and rewards, and ongoing story, and all of this live service stuff go well and actually be fun to experience, you guys have a HIT on your hands. Skate is so special and this is shaping up to be a great return to form. Take your time team, we don't mind. ❤
By the looks of things they’re working on sorting out the core gameplay mechanics before they get into fine tuning animations, but I’d bet they will have really good fluid animations before release
i know everyone is saying the same thing, but PLEASE dont rush this game. this game could be a masterpiece if you guys take your time. there are so many possible elements you guys could add to this game since it really is just a game to chill and have fun. put some patient love into this game for the community because we have been waiting for this game for years
The inclusion of Slappy’s and firecrackers is actually kinda huge. Also, the fact that some challenges will have restrictions such as “Manual combos don’t count” is _awesome_ As someone who played Skate 3 religiously, losing spot battles because of people who would do excessive manual combos was annoying. Glad to see people will need to adjust their play style per challenge. Keeps it fresh! I will state that I’m not a major fan of ‘always-online’ games. If I want to play Skate on a road trip and don’t have wifi access, I don’t like being restricted from large parts of the game. In my humble opinion, I would ask that you also pool plenty of time into singleplayer experiences for those who can’t or choose not to be online 24/7. That said, what you’re doing with your online experiences are *VERY* intriguing. Being able to throw down at _any_ spot _anywhere_ is sick. And the fact that the community can come together to do large-scale challenges as a group effort also sounds like so much fun! Keep up what you’re doing! Just don’t forget about the hardcore side of the community who would love difficult, realistic, singleplayer action.
The Throwdown activity definitely sold me. I have mentioned in the past that it will be cool to highlight any terrain and add a challenge to it for you and your friend. To finally see it confirmed proves to me that they are really heading in the right direction.
Exactly. They cannot forget about the hardcore fan base. Skate 2 imo had the most amazing story and world, it felt real to me damnit. This new game has got to have a good and satisfying single player. Magazine covers, films etc etc.. apart from the gameplay, obviously, the single player story is what makes Skate such phenomenal games. So much fun, so satisfying and rewarding
Glad there is a story line! Played skate 3 so much and enjoyed both the multiplayer and single player modes. It'll be interesting to see what you guys have come up with when it comes to the storyline.
I hope there will be good server stability because one of the most annoying things in multiplayer games is input lag because of bad servers and also some sort of anti cheat because PC games are more easily modified.. Last multiplayer sports game I played was NBA 2K and both things are a problem there
i honestly think realism should also be a factor because I think skate 1 and 2 were also fun to play. I just see bodies flopping around and I really hope they implement that in the game. 😢
Will there still be games of skate that you play against other players or maybe even pros? Will the controls be the same as the traditional Skate games or something similar to SkaterXL?
I'm afraid this game is turning into a metaverse carnival... there is nothing in this video that makes me excited. Why does this need to be an always-on multiplayer experience. Can't wait for everyone to be in everyone's way ALLLL the time.

Skate 3 never was a super serious game and lots of people barely even skated, but just ran around punching people and tried to find funny glitches

The fact that I will be able to do an activity with my friend on any piece of terrain I choose is so sick. That is something I have been hoping for since Skate 3.

Idk about all that, Nike seems to be dealing with stock x drama so I don’t expect much from a brand like Nike. Maybe some other brands and boards but besides that I don’t expect much since the skate crew has not presented us with brand details. They haven’t even given us details if there are going to be pros. Like the crew is filling our ears up with talks about the game but what progress have they truly made.

Even if the game is going to be free to play, I would love to buy Story Mode as a DLC or something. The contests, film challenges, death races, hall of meat challenges... etc is what made the game so great and fun in my opinion.

Activities are great but if the core skate mechanics are on par or crisp the long term fans won’t stick around no matter how big the playground is or how many activities there are.
I’ve asked a few times and put it onto the ideas board very early on that the team needs to confirm there will be a hardcore mode.
Part of the reason skate has stayed in everyone’s minds for so long is because of the hardcore fans that take skating seriously, the have spent countless hours in the film/replay editor and made their skate films and teams a reality within the game.
If players of both the floaty, AND weighted/hardcore players aren’t being thought of when building this world you’ll be missing a lot of your core audience.
Me along with a majority of people have been waiting to immerse ourselves in the world that real skates have built. We need to see more flat ground tricks, and the tricks Mullen did, and stuff Andy Anderson is doing now.
Please take this into account, and don’t neglect this.
Just hoping it has a good singleplayer. From what I've seen the game looks really fun and faithful to the Skate identity. Realistic skating and ragdoll chaos!!! 😂
I very highly doubt there will be a single player. More of just an offline mode if even that

Yeah the emphasizing towards people who don't know anything about skateboarding was kind of a red flag imo. It's a skateboarding game lmao who else is the game for?!?!? I remember the original Skate had a lot of dialogue and jokes that are referencing legit things in skate culture along with realistic skateboarding compared to other games at the time. It catered heavily to skaters and people into skateboarding, I don't get why they are trying to make a skateboarding game fun for "everyone" when the audience should be skaters or people into skateboarding by the very least...
If the game is tailored to a variety of people instead of a specific audience like skaters, then it is pretty much guaranteed that the game will be a bigger money marker. You got to remember that EA are the publisher of this game. For a heavilty-anticipated title that has a lot of rules set by the big cats at the top who don't know a fragment on skateboarding, I got to say that Full Circle are doing a fantastic job with what they have been given to work with.

This game is going to be awesome. It’s honestly going to be my most favorite game to play for a long ass time. I’m a super long time Skate fan. Been playing Skate since the first release. This series has been very impactful on my life. Thank you guys. Can’t wait for this release.
'Always on multiplayer' sounds great on paper. But that definitely needs to be optional.
I think my only suggestion is to get the skateboarding part of this game right before even thinking about anything else. If this doesn't feel like a next gen skateboarding game with best in class physics, lighting, world design and dynamic weather you're cruising for 6/10 scores.
Will there be an offline mode? I have countless hours in Skate 3 just mindlessly skating and messing around and it would be nice to not have to be constantly online

My god all of this genuinely sounds incredible, the combination of skateboarding, parkour, customization and play driven real time creation make such a beautiful base layer. If you can have these activities, and rewards, and ongoing story, and all of this live service stuff go well and actually be fun to experience, you guys have a HIT on your hands. Skate is so special and this is shaping up to be a great return to form. Take your time team, we don't mind. ❤

By the looks of things they’re working on sorting out the core gameplay mechanics before they get into fine tuning animations, but I’d bet they will have really good fluid animations before release

The inclusion of Slappy’s and firecrackers is actually kinda huge. Also, the fact that some challenges will have restrictions such as “Manual combos don’t count” is _awesome_
As someone who played Skate 3 religiously, losing spot battles because of people who would do excessive manual combos was annoying. Glad to see people will need to adjust their play style per challenge. Keeps it fresh!
I will state that I’m not a major fan of ‘always-online’ games. If I want to play Skate on a road trip and don’t have wifi access, I don’t like being restricted from large parts of the game. In my humble opinion, I would ask that you also pool plenty of time into singleplayer experiences for those who can’t or choose not to be online 24/7.
That said, what you’re doing with your online experiences are *VERY* intriguing. Being able to throw down at _any_ spot _anywhere_ is sick. And the fact that the community can come together to do large-scale challenges as a group effort also sounds like so much fun! Keep up what you’re doing! Just don’t forget about the hardcore side of the community who would love difficult, realistic, singleplayer action.
The Throwdown activity definitely sold me. I have mentioned in the past that it will be cool to highlight any terrain and add a challenge to it for you and your friend. To finally see it confirmed proves to me that they are really heading in the right direction.
Exactly. They cannot forget about the hardcore fan base. Skate 2 imo had the most amazing story and world, it felt real to me damnit. This new game has got to have a good and satisfying single player. Magazine covers, films etc etc.. apart from the gameplay, obviously, the single player story is what makes Skate such phenomenal games. So much fun, so satisfying and rewarding
Glad there is a story line! Played skate 3 so much and enjoyed both the multiplayer and single player modes. It'll be interesting to see what you guys have come up with when it comes to the storyline.
I hope there will be good server stability because one of the most annoying things in multiplayer games is input lag because of bad servers and also some sort of anti cheat because PC games are more easily modified.. Last multiplayer sports game I played was NBA 2K and both things are a problem there
