Tip the spark arrestors can be cleaned by burning off the build up with long nose tweezers over a gas stove/torch, great advice about how 2 strokes are designed to be run full throttle.
I've been running the predecessor (BG85) to this model since 2004. I need to check the exhaust screen as sometimes after it has been run it doesn't want to start back up without a number of pulls.
Never saw anything about ethanol-free gas in the manual. They don't even sell it here in California. My BG 86CE lasted about 4 years of occasional use before the carburetor malfunctioned and I was told replacements are not available or so expensive I might as well junk it. My other Stihl products have been fine but I was a little disappointed with this one.
I think you got the throttle lock lever on the handle confused, you said to lock the throttle down to push down on the lever which turns the blower off while rotating the lever up sets the throttle lock.
Love this machine as a vac, but my Husqvarna 525BX is a far superior blower! Would definitely buy another 86 though, in the UK, service and parts for Stihl and Husqvarna are second to none!
I have the SH86-C... It does the vac/mulch option It's a nice little back-up companion to my BR430...the 430 was a giant step up from our BG55, which kinda sits now lol
Very well presented! Thank you. Just got my son his today from my local dealer.
I had owned my STIHL BG86C since December 25th. It was my Christmas present so it will be 5 months this Saturday.
Great video! Thank you! I'm learning how to use and your video was very thorough!!

Great vid. Mentioned it to you before months back, ended up getting a FS131R because of your vids. Now, a BR800C and a BG86C. Keep up the great work.
So glad we can help
I love mine it’s light and easy to use
Great job explaining overview!!!!!!

Can the bagging system be added straight to this? Or does it need the blades inside the suction area
Outstanding video and thank you as I will be purchasing this model tomorrow.....👍

Thanks! Great video!
I bought this just to use with the gutter tool. I wear a hoodie when I use it. I think it might be a little over kill.
