TJ Oshie went 14 for 17 in the shootout this year...THAT IS UNHEARD OF. He also went 4 for 6 in the Olympics in the epic shootout against Russia.
I have studied his moves, and put together a very in depth shootout tutorial for you guys so that you can know exactly why he is so lethal!

on move #3 one thing you neglected is that he really leans into the backhand with his HEAD. the headfake sells the backhand without you having to move your body like you did at 4:18
Before my game to day I was practicing this for my fun league after spring hockey ended and I did a backhand toe drag around the last defender at the blue line and pulling the puck to ur backhand really fast is sick it caught the goalie off guard it was a masterpiece if only someone got that on camera anyways pav thx for this awesome tutorial!!

I give up on the move where I bring it to my forehand and just snap it top shelf I've tried it multiple times on goalies at stick and pucks and in my game last Sunday got 3 amazing passes in front the net post post save I scored lots of goals on my goalie though last night at practice with the fivefold shot the one I thought that would be the worst choice out of all but as always pav keep up the great work

That USA vs. RUSSIA shootout was one of the greatest things in hockey I've had the pleasure of witnessing.
I agree:) T.J Oshie was a tank. And you showed people how talented he really is. I'm a Bruins fan but I feel he doesn't get the respect he deserves. His one of a kind move sets himself up to do multiple moves. That's why hes so good. He has more than one though going thought his head.
Yep - I'm glad I could shed some light on it. Oshie is very dangerous out there in many aspects of the game.

He doesn't ALL the time. He mixes that up actually - watch the videos in my description of his shootout compilations.

Awesome - keep studying moves. The MacKinnon is very hard. Make sure you have a good sell to both backhand and forehand.
+Pavel Barber Holy shit dude Pavel I'm in disbelief. I've been doing this move for a while.. and couldn't do it.. but I'm my game I found a way to get open and bursted by the D on a breakaway...and I did the forehand fake and backer for a goal to tie it and we ended up winning in OT... than you Pavel Barber 👍👊👌☝

Hey there, Pav! I've got a question for you. I've just started playing hockey and I'm not sure which handedness to choose. I'm right handed when I write and so the easy thing for me would be to have a RH stick but I've heard people say that the LH would benefit me in terms of control. Would going with a LH stick take a lot of time to get used but be better overall or should I go with the right hand? Bear in mind I'm nearly 15 in case that means anything. Great vid by the way and yes...that shootout was remarkable and I'll always remember watching it.
You just have to choose which way is more dominant man. What feels more natural and smooth?
I was going to go with a righty but there wasn't any remaining that were big enough (I'd been given a coach's stick the first time) and so I tried a lefty and yeah... I'm trying to get used to it. :)

I don't really know how to describe it. Holds the stick decently tight...not gripping crazy hard. Enough to be able to guide the stick.

when i looked back at some of oshie's goals he opens his blade about half an inch or so more when he faked the forehand shot. At least that's what seemed to notice.

I make these videos because the pros won't make them.
I study them in depth, and lay them out for you. I do all the work so you can understand it. You don't need to be the person who made it up to understand how to do it...
